Completely useless app! There isn't any other way to describe it. Everytime I try to copy the confirmation number from this app to my work app, it says there was an error or it was the wrong number. Also the numbers change too fast, how is anybody supposed to get the numbers right on their first try?! It's like the makers of this app want you to mess up.
One website out of the dozens I visit required it to enable 2FA. Other apps have you scan in a QR code or type a key provided by the website. Not this... You give the website your credential ID. The problem is that there was no verification that the credentials were correct before I logged out. When logging back in, every security code I try fails. Now, I'm waiting on customer support to help me get back into my account. To be fair, could be website's fault...
On a up to date Pixel 10 with the app updated, I cannot click on the three lines for the menu. This is also true for the X when I am on the screen to add a new credential. Also the title "VIP Access" is cutoff by my camera lens. I have found that if I click below the icons I get them to work. It seems like the UI is too big for the screen.
On first launch, the app displays an error stating that there was a problem registering the app, which I can't get past. The error message offers an email address to message for help. I did so, and included plenty of detail on my configuration. After a week, there has been no response -- not even an auto-reply stating that they received my inquiry. Wasting the user's time by asking them to email nonexistent support just adds insult to injury.
Most recent update is clunky, if you use the Token and the Wallet Authenticators, the widgets for the tokens do not refresh correctly. The code on the home screen is not the same when you click into it. Causing a lot of "invalid codes" even though the app shows the code. This is happening to other users as well, not just me. Can't replicate it on demand though as their is no pattern to it. On close and restart their is a chance it won't load with the correct code displayed.
Tried repeatedl but would not work with my account. kept giving an invalid message. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, but does not seem like it... very straight forward, I load the app, and enter the codes on my financial intuition website. I enter in the time allotted but can't make it work. Perhaps not all the bugs are worked out. Would lover for it to work. Tried uninstalling and repeating but no go. Sorry.
Works rarely. I have to use this app to approve bank transactions with SBI in Japan and when prompted to hit confirm in the VIP app when trying to initiate a bank transfer, the VIP app rarely pops up with the confirmation window. It's incredibly annoying. Why does it have to be a pop up window, just ask me to enter a code like all the other Authenticators out there.
No attempt after years to get rid of the unnecessary, gratuitous, and annoying visual effects upon startup that delay the user from accessing the code. Please just show the code immediately; we don't need to see your logo and splash screen. Or at least provide the option to remove the splash screen.
The UI for migrating to a different phone makes it way too easy to get locked out of your accounts, just by doing it twice. When you migrate, the old phone starts showing a new set of codes. If you do it again, you overwrite the codes you just migrated to the new phone (don't ask me how I know). It would be much better if the old phone didn't start showing new codes unless/until you told it to "Create a new set of codes". In many cases, you won't need to use the old phone more anyway.
It's an interesting but much less secure version of the normal authenticator app paradigm, someone now only needs one code to access any of your accounts rather than a unique code per account. so a single phished code can breach everything. also lacks multi device support. and the menu button is unresponsive on devices with overly curved corners like pixel9.
it is a good app. I had been using it for years. Recently I transferred them to my new device, and mistakenly I lost all the data. I hope the team can give the suggestion to recover it back. thank
Trying to migrate to new phone. Playstore will not install VIP Access on new phone, leaving me dead in the water. Have 6GB free internal storage. Have cleared Playstore cache and data. Have uninstalled Playstore updates. Install status goes to pending, then nothing. No installation and no messages.
can't access the drop-down menu with the 3 lines in top left because it's too far off the screen on my pixel 10 xl pro and pixel 9 xl pro this means I can't migrate my access codes come on, this is so basic. fix it.
The primary token is out of sync and doesn't refresh at the proper intervals. The timer resets whenever the field is visually off screen, which is definitely not appropriate.
Be careful when migrating from old devices! The process is confusing and allows you to repeat it after which you lose access to old keys. The app is badly designed and buggy.
It's not working! No matter what code I enter in the Kynect website it always says it's the wrong code!!!!! Won't let me do split screen on my phone!!!!!
I get the error message "QR code scan limit. Delete unused QR codes...." If it were not for Etrade I would not be using this POS app. After a week, support finally responded and I was told the app has a limit of 20 entries. Why would you limit the number of entries, if this is meant to be used by end users?!? RIDICULOUS!!! Clearly they are not investing dev time, effort or anything to improve this product.
Worst app. If you share this anyone it get deleted. Lost access to it. Can they even copy things properly from Google authenticator
having issues with the app to the point i cannot work anymore. i would never choose to use it myself and now it is making access to my work systems impossible.
It has been 3 weeks and it won't move from the start up screen. Can't uninstall as it will lose the connection. I have called Fidelity and told them they need to partner with a different authenticator since this one has no support. I received feedback to provide more information. The information is there it will not go beyond the startup screen like every other review that has been left here is saying.
