Early check in for international flights and multiple boarding passes is made easier through Virgin Australia app. I've stored the boarding passes on my phone so scanning at security and boarding gates is smooth and efficient. This app is not only convenient, I can quickly check the baggage policy when required.
Booking flights is smooth and the app interface is clean. Check-in and boarding passes work reliably which is super convenient. Occasionally the app loads a bit slow, but overall it does what it’s supposed to very well.
Love the staff, very friendly as I come from the country and not used to this hospitality. Have enjoyed the couple of flights I have been on with Virgin.
App does not connect with account online. Log in to frequent flyer account and you can see booked flights online, but app hasn't linked flights and then you have to do this manually. Also not able to upgrade with free upgrades through the app, very disappointing
Had a chance of flight, from 1pm to early morning that l never accepted. Because the night before my connection was cancelled due to weather (it was with another carrier, out of a regional small airport) l lost the morning flight (once again, this one was never accepted) and had to pay for a late afternoon flight to avoid ruin my holiday...paid another $554 on top of the price paid for first flight which l could easily take, as l had accounted for poor weather booking the 1pm
I paid my lounge renewal a full month before it was due. Why, nearly 3 weeks later, does the app still not show the new expiry date ? Neither the Virgin nor the Velocity app will work if I disable tracking. Why do they need to track what I do? 2000 tracking attempts in a short space of time. That's verging on criminal invasion of privacy.
Flight cancelled and email sent 9.50pm for previously checkedin flight next day. Reallocated for FOLLOWING day. Rang up to say not acceptable as seats were showing on Google search. No result. So went to check in new flight..couldn't because " outstanding charge,". Another call..agent had put me in a more expensive seat. Finally sorted First time with Virgin. And the last.
don't nag for rating in the middle of me doing something. don't try and make me install a second app just to manage my rewards! and that app's reviews are saying it's hot garbage. get the marketing team away from the app devs please. find a user experience expert to work with them. (no, not someone who's job it is to gaslight customers into thinking they need a thing. someone who can actually advocate for the user experience)
Easy to book, great customer service and mostly on-time and comfortable flights.
nothing works on app or website, anything you click on goes to a blank screen. Honestly how are you still flying
As a gold flyer, I use this app frequently, but over the past few months, it has become very frustrating. It often loses my trips, forcing me to search through my emails for the reference number for my flight. On another occasion, I checked in, but when I was about to board, the app lost my flight information and boarding pass. This has been very stressful. It used to be a great app, but it seems to have deteriorated recently.
this app works fine until you try and book a flight. then the booking process repeatedly stops with a "this page encountered a technical difficulty please contact the guest contact centre" error, usually at the passenger details page. good for checking in, seat selection, extra baggage, boarding pass for an existing booking. Won't let you book a new flight.
Will never, ever fly Virgin again. I've flown virgin 3 times in three years and 2 out of three of those occasions included cancelled flights and 14-32 hour delays in arriving at my destination. They care nothing about the customer at all.
Annoying new update. monthly I fly on a charter and since the update I can't select my seat this is such a pain knowing since the update I can't select seats meaning I'm in the middle everytime. wish they can allow me to select a seat it's only me not anyone else.
Everything was excellent until the card i paid for the trip with, was refused as the card i used to choose my seat. No way forward, or out, with my check-in process. No way to cancel the seat selection or update the app with my details ( which it already had). They need to have an option to cancel the check-in and start again. A return option to the previous page would have helped. no
app seems to be broken. I get to the Loading your flights page and then it just stalls. Tried various flights using cash and points options but still stalls. tried on both my Samsung mobile and tablet.
A great airline app is easy to use and makes good harmony with what I perceive virgin branding and ease of access to all for all of australia. like the booking and use of entertainment and link to volecity.
Good app, useful and reliable - I haven't had any issues with it from booking to managing to mobile boarding passes. I just wish when they advise a delay they'd give more notice (rather than when you're already en-route to the airport) and be more realistic - the flight is always delayed longer than what they advise as the initial revised estimated time.
Annoying that you can't add flights with your name and have to use booking reference. Virgin charges for every little thing and nothing is included in a standard airfare. Actually getting really sick of their delayed flights, very poor customer service and bad attitudes, and that their entertainment never works on the aircraft. Would be good to see them catch up to QANTAS and get wifi on board, it is 2024 after all. Although I really doubt that'll happen, and I'm sure they'd charge you $50 a go.
great app and check in process. Virgin also provides bag check in service at dissembarkment for cruises in Sydney so they get my 5 stars for sure
