Why does the remote in the app work better than the physical remote??? I JUST bought the TV Sat and I set it up 2 days ago! The batteries are fresh, yet I had to take them out and put them back in several times only 24hrs after setting up the TV, plus the TV randomly just shuts itself off for no reason. I'm already greatly regretting my decision to purchase this TV! The ONLY reason I'm giving 3⭐ is because the app remote seems to work well, other than that, 1⭐ for Vizio TV in general

App seems useful and the remote feature is convenient. But after entering my phone number to register my TV, I started getting spam calls within an hour—multiple per hour since then. Might be a coincidence, but the timing is concerning. Strongly reconsider asking for phone numbers or be transparent about how they’re used. if possible DO NOT give them your phone number!!

it's an alright app. does what it's supposed to. I wish they'd put back the feature where the menu popped up on my phone. our TV had a power cycle issue and the screen wouldn't show. which meant the menu didn't either. I eventually found a work around using the talk back feature, but it would have been a lot easier if the menu just showed up on the phone screen like it used to.

UPDATED: I did get a response, but the response did nothing to address my review which makes me think I was not articulate enough. I can access all my tvs setting using the app, as it will pop up on the TV, bo different than using the remote. HOWEVER, I used to be able to access the settings on the app on my phone, without popping them up on the tv. Having that functionality allowed me to change settings that were GREYED OUT when trying to change setting directly on the TV with my remote.

We have a couple of older E55-D0 tvs which relied on the vizio app for almost everything. the remote only has the most basic options and can't do any TV setup. This new version of the app doesn't work with these old tvs. I use the legacy TV option and it finds the tvs wifi but then gives a pairing error. No amount of trying different things I found online have worked. so these perfectly decent TVs are e-waste.

Terrible app. The commercials are ridiculous. I was watching a movie, but after I was half through with it, the app glitched out and sent my Vizio tv back to the home screen. When I tried to restart my movie, it went back to the beginning. I attempted to fast forward to where I left off, but it was impossible because I could not get past all the TOO FREQUENT commercials. For every 5-10 minutes of movie, I had to endure a full 2 minute commercial break. I gave up at the second break, never again

I got this because the remote it came with has a difficult time connecting to the sensor. This app only works when I first turn on the TV and select a show. It then will disconnect, prompt me to turn the TV on (when it is on) and then say it cannot find the device (despite the fact that both the TV and the phone are on the same wifi and nothing has changed since turning it on.

Edited to 1 star. Still having constant problems. No reason for this, but faulty coding. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I regularly have connection issues with this app. It will be totally fine one minute, and lose connection the next. Both my phone and TV are on the same WiFi. There is no other way for them to function. The app is the problem.

Make an account to control the sound bar?? I just wanted a remote, but there was none in the box. The tuning of the sound bar is all wrong. The only way to change this is through the app, which requires your data and sells it. After all of that, the app fails to even find the sound bar, whereas my Bluetooth settings can find it no problem. What an atrocious mockery of what should have been a simple solution.

Ok, the app itself is great...when it works. Getting it to connect my phone to my soundbar is the worst. When I open the app, it says connecting for about 10 seconds, then says it's having issues connecting. It will do this every time I open the app until I exit the app, turn my phones bluetooth off & on, then reopen the app & hope it works then. It didn't used to have this problem. The worst part is that it's been months with this issue, and it's a well known bug. Can the devs PLEASE UPDATE APP

The app sucks!! It always has issues connecting. I have to troubleshoot it multiple times a day just to turn down the volume because it won't stay connected. I tried unistalling and reinstalling twice, and it still has these issues. A physical remote is the wau to go with this brand of tv. Honestly, it's easier to handle the Roku app than this brand. Not worth it!

Here we go again. Can we just get a consistent remote function without the added BS. In the effort to "make things bigger and better," connection is lost again. Or even better, can we just get a standard remote that can be purchased since we were shafted with the basic remote that came with our "smart" tvs, so we don't have to use software that is hit or miss with each update.

Just bought a p-series soundbar and the app is terrible. It always reloads when entering the app. Even if I have the app open and switch, for a second to another and come back, it has to find the device again and that's a 50/50 chance of happening. I can't find my brand new sound bar to add to a chromecast group. Edit: I've returned the 5.1.4. Elevate to Best Buy because of the issues. I'm not spending time on support to hook something up that should be plug and play.

This app is the most frustrating app I've ever used. I downloaded it because my remote keeps walking off, and I thought this would be a good solution until I find where the remote is hidden. However, it only works approximately 60% of the time, and when it DOES work, it's frequently very slow and awkward. Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't seem to fix the problem, and today it just stopped working while I was actually in the process of using it. Just going to buy a new remote at this point.

App works great and use it all the time, but recently, I have had issues searching for specific movies and tells me no results. I used to be able to search any title, and it would tell me if it was available for rent or free using specific apps. It appears certain titles no longer appear in search. For example, the Wrong Missy movie is available on Netflix, but searching brings the error of no results.

Frustrating when things go wrong, and they often do. When adding a new device, errors, loops, and disconnects are frequent and unhelpful. Google's devices with Chromecast are seamless to pair, but Vizio's Chromecast devices disconnect from wifi, aren't easy to set up, and are frustrating to use. Wish it worked as well as other Google compatible devices.

The remote that came with the TV is useless. Has no arrow keys. The app doesn't have arrow keys either. I keep getting stuck on a screen that requires arrows to navigate. The final insult is that it recommends getting a new remote with all the regular buttons. The catch is that it costs $35. I refuse to pay extra for a more useful remote. I have never seen a product that came with a remote that can't perform all functions and you have to pay $35 extra just to use all functions on the TV.

I think the app works pretty well ad intended. It does everything that my remote does. I also see people posting about how they can't turn on their TV, etc. There is a setting on the TV that enables a type of stand by mode. This had to be on to use the full functionality. This keeps the tv connected to wifi when it's off and allows the app to work to it's full potential.

This is an really good app so far, but there's lack of features. For example, lack of profile pictures. I want to change my profile picture because the gray icon on my profile just somewhat really bothers me. Second of all, is that there's lack of accessibility features for captions. As someone who is unsure that they have dyslexia, it would've been better if we could change the captions font just to see it better. All though, good app so far.

It disconnects from the device a lot and the connection to the tv has had to be redone almost 2 times a week. Also casting to the device is quirky too. It is near impossible to pair with this app! I changed my review to one star! Once I finally get it to pair, after a few weeks it starts say it isn't paired. Then trying to repair it takes 1000's of tries and almost an hour. No wonder I got such a good "deal" on this TV. Turned out to be quite the crappy deal.
