Great app & the widget shows you a new word of the day! If you're searching for a specific word & it's not listed, you can insert it into the list and use online to make a reference to it. But, the quick little quizzes are great to reinforce the memorization of the words. *Great App, but can you please add a "word of the day list" that catalogs every word that was suggested? Thank You.*

This is a fabulous app for learning and expanding vocabulary. Other apps like this are good, but this one has been the best for me. There are multiple choice quizzes, offered daily. You can choose the length of quizzes (I go with ten for now), and you can review your answers and retake the quiz if you want. Or you can browse through the words themselves. I'm extremely pleased.

This is a very good app for building a better vocabulary. You can study these in either alphabetical or random order, and take brief quizzes (multiple choice) ten words per quiz. Some of the words are a little obscure, but most of these are words that can be used for writing papers or having a good conversation. And reading comprehension as well.

I love this app. the platform is well organized and easy to use. I love that I can add my own words. And it's so very helpful that it gives you a quiz on the words you saved. Excellent job developers!! 👍🏾 The feel good tokens made me laugh 😄. I'm not sure why there's a feature to add custom words but I can't add them to my favorites, which means they won't be included in the quizzes.

At first, I thought it was going to be a simple dictionary app with meanings pulled from the Oxford, but it was much more than that. Not only did it have a word of the day like some email marketing systems, but it also provided the ability to get a random word and discover the meaning and spelling that way. If that wasn't enough, you could be quizzed on any of the words within the dictionary with a review afterwards. One premium feature I didn't get to use was custom words, though.

AWESOME APP. The daily word pops up on my phone, so I am prompted to learn at least one every day. It give you at least one definition as well as the pronunciation, a way to share, and save words so you can go back and review what words you've learned! The quizzes pop up daily also, which give the opportunity to learn 5 more words. And then you can see the correct answers and retake it, to solidify the correct meanings by repetition. This is really a great vocabulary expanding app!

The definitions are not great. Only one part of speech is defined and often a different tense is used in an example sentence. I gave 3/5 because the app does what it says, is easy to use, and has potential. The vocab words are basic, reasonable, every day words. With clearer definitions expounding on words that are multiple parts of speech this could be a great app.

EXCELLENT! Very fun and beneficial. Quick access and easy use. Updated: WONDERFUL! Still playing with it. And I mean playing because although I'm building my vocabulary base, it doesn't feel like a chore. And making it an opened app, that gives me my daily word, it pulls me into a quick quiz of my choosing. Plus the list of missed daily words/definitions. PS Congratulations to the 8 Co-champions of 2019 Spelling Bee.

Would get 5 stars if the app had built in setting to turn off push notifications. I do not need or want to be notified every single day when the "daily word" is updated. Not terribly complicated to just go into your phone settings and block notifications from the app. But still, I expect this setting to be accessible in app. Also, I think it would be nice to be able to sort the word bank by date so you can catch up on the past few days of "daily words" if you desire.

There are a few things I like about this app. It has a simple, sizable, word of the day widget, a dark theme which applies to the app and widget, the word of the day rotates based on the user's preferences, and users may save words they like to a neat accessible tab for reference. As a dictionary app, it leaves a lot to be desired. It lacks entries for loads of words, and the entries don't include many details a user might find useful. The custom words feature helps to mitigate these issues.

Engaging, good word selection. Worth the 'price' of wading through the ads. Good for memory practice and as a vocab booster. Update: I bought the app to remove the ads. Totally worth it. Better, the app allows you to customize your quiz. To build my vocab (and for the challenge), I wanted to add quizzes only from words that I had gotten wrong. Bingo! There they were!

Good app. Love how I can add a widget so every morning I wake up and open my phone I'm greeted with a new world. However this isn't much of a problem considering I don't use this feature.. but why is it that you have to pay/watch ads to add custom words? I mean you could just open up any text app and achieve the same without needed to spend $5 dollars. See if you were to add vocabulary for different languages that would be worth the $5.

Fun app! Learn new words, plus fun quizzes. A lot of words I already know, but I've learned some new ones. Some words I think I know the definition, but I was mistaken. Some words I used to know, but forgot about. Glad I downloaded this. Oh, and they give examples and other info about the word. Edited to add: I just bought premium. It's worth it, in my opinion.

No bells and whistles. No intrusive ads. EXCELLENT selection of words. I tried all of the vocabulary builder apps on google play, and this was simultaneously the simplest AND the best. The selection of words is mostly intermediate level, and almost entirely practical. If your looking to boost your 'vocabulary ego' with big obscure words, this is NOT the app for you. But if you're a writer looking to improve your vocabulary with words that are in common usage, this app is perfect.

This app is great. It's literally learning vocabulary words and doing it at your own pace. I love that I are in control. I don't have to feel rushed or like I'm missing out on something if I don't answer in the time alotted or if I get one wrong. I can always retake the test. I found words I thought I knew but I had been using incorrectly and some words I knew the meanings of but didn't realize it until now. Thanks for helping me build my vocabulary. Good job Devs!

excellent vocabulary review, and fun too! I love scrolling through the list of words first to find new ones and refresh my memory on seldom-used vocabulary; then I take the quiz, go back and review any incorrect answers, then retake the quiz to score 10 out of 10. I like alternating between words quizes and meanings quizes. It's very helpful; I feel it raises my IQ; and if I were a high school or college student facing achievement/IQ/entrance exams, I would spend time using this app beforehand.

I love this app and I love being quizzed on a handful of words at a time. It makes for a good refresher. Being on our phones 24/7 is slowly making me stupid and lazy when it comes to vocabulary and definitions, as well as spelling. I have noticed a huge difference in my cognitive thinking when it comes to having answers being on click away. This app serves to correct that.

Tis' a travesty! Don't exactly know what that means? Well you won't be finding out with this app. Has very few words, has no actual view for the words themselves, and you can't even unstar words after favoriting them. Switched to the "Dictionary" app and it's much better. Question to the developer, I mean why not use an actual API that can fetch for all of the words in the dictionary? It's the difference of an endpoint and the difference of your app actually being useful.

its a handy app, I check the word of the day daily but as a writter I sometimes forget the word Im trying to use and try to find it by looking up the meaning in the search bar but unfortunately you can only search for the word not the definition. I've tried using google, and that works okay, but I think it would be a nice feature if they ever added it. Overall, it's a great app! would recommend!

This app is very helpful and easy to navigate; I can see myself using it to help children build their vocabulary. That said, the sentences used to expand on the words are often rather convoluted. The latest one (Gibberish) was very long and in desperate need of punctuation (and would still be a bit clumsy even with it). Maybe try simpler sentences like, "Paramedics could only perceive gibberish as the injured man tried to explain what happened".
