WAFF 48 Local News

I love WAFF news and the weather. This app frustrates me though. First, it takes forever for it to load and pull up. Second, it is set up in a way that seems choppy. I know it could be more seamless and simple. Finally, the app will not work a lot of times when pulling up an article from notifications. Please fix or overhaul this app! Thanks!!

11/23/25 BLARING FULL PAGE ADS ARE BACK AGAIN. 11/21/22 more blaring ads. Can't turn off Video ads crash app. No share link for news articles. ADS STILL BLARING!! Congratulations. You are now the most battery hungry app on my phone surpassing WHNT. What's with the blaring obnoxious ads that are now auto playing?

A couple days ago, it started not letting me pull up the weather on this app. It prompts me to another WAFF app in the app store. I can get on my wife's phone and pull up the weather using this same app. Both of our phones, in the last couple of days, it takes forever for the app to pop up. This is the only app that lags. I will not download a second WAFF app just to see the weather. Just going to use 19 or 31

It hangs up frequently and will not open. I have to restart my phone to get it to work. Other times it works fine. In addition, I cannot use my preferred message app to share stories not can I share directly to Facebook . I have to go to another station's news story to share it. It is very frustrating.

Going downhill. My entire family loved this station and the app in the not so distant past. Not sure if the changes to the app were required updates or were made for "looks". The change previous to this made everything more difficult enough. Now, may look high tech. NO LONGER FUNCTIONABLE. Disappointed 48.

Was a good app. Now there are so many ads you must sit through just to read a news story. I guess I'm stuck with WHNT. At least they let you read something without watching a 15 to 30 second ad. Hope a few pennies in ad revenue is worth the loss of most people that would use the app.

App does not work. Notices come up but you pick them to read, goes to the app then nothing. Just sits there with an ad then never goes to the news article. I did enjoy this news app but no more. Will take it off my phone. Will have to load your competitors app to see local news and alerts.

4.24.21: Was only ok to begin with, but new layout feels sloppy. Seems really disorganized. Not much benefit to using app versus going to the website at this point. 6.7.21: No improvement. New layout now cuts off headlines, so I'm not even sure if an article is interesting to me. Uninstalling and going back to living under a rock. Local current events isn't worth this headache.

If I could give less then one star I would ! The app is slow to load or doesn't open at all and when there is a weather related emergency I seldom receive notification.

latest updates or hacks at servers keep putting ads that will not allow viewers to see Example, sand mountain pages. uninstalled 3rd time since calling Waff to inform of the issue!

After the update I deleted this. Adds got out of hand and the only way I found to turn off notifications was to turn off ALL notifications on my phone. App was ok , but trash after update.

With every update, app gets worse...even if you uninstall prior app. One can go to website quicker, but then, all the news articles are not there. No support, no help at station, no one cares to fix issues.

It won't download, I uninstalled it, because it quit working, then when I try to install it, it always says something went wrong on Googles end. Try again, what is the use it gives me the same error everytime. If I could give it zero stars I would.

When you select the X on the af that always pops up upon opening the app, if you give too long at that spot, it puts you into the settings mode with no way out.

Just started having issues with the app freezing and closing while trying to read articles. Seems like the new update is the cause. Please correct this.

app is ok except they have started putting adds in that you have to watch the full add. can not back out and get back to reading the news.

Had to reinstall to get the new update to work. Now full of loud ads I can't mute without silencing my phone. I'm going back to zero news in my life, though I'll miss the local a bit.

Can hardly get through reading an article without it closing. I have to reopen the app and find the story only to have it close again.

Love your station and news people but your app is bull ish. Barely works half the time and your notifications don't even bring up the story it notified me about.

I'm about to uninstall this app due to every time I open it here lately to read the breaking news after I get notifications McAfee starts doing a scan on my Android phone. Over it! Fix it!
