There hasn't been a single walk where I didn't experience a glitch. Pet parents are still unable to request services with me even though the pet parent and I did everything the tech support people said we should do. They don't inform people of app service updates, such as change in service extension request. Tech support has no phone number which I'm assuming is because they get so many complaints and don't want to take accountability.
I don't recommend. Services are barely shown to you if you don't pay their extra $129 and if you accidentally cancel a request, you can't see the service or re-request it. Terrible functionality. Rover does better and lets people request you so you can talk to them in a chat immediately and then if you accidentally click cancel you can simply just click "Book it" again. Wag isn't worth your time.
This app is RIDICULOUS!! You can't give all your work history because the app thinks you're taking people off. So either pay $299 every time your profile gets flagged or delete the app/profile. Have price set at lowest. Some say you're too expensive and to lower if your price. If the price is set in the middle, nothing. No one ever responds to the request. especially after paying $129 for a pro. WE DO NOT RECOMEND THIS APP!
a lot of services are behind a paywall. Taking 40% from your pay is also very high and on top of that, if you need help, its impossible to get a real person. I haven't been able to access the app in 13 days and you're forced to use the chat bot. The bot can't help and I've been waiting 5 days after emailing which still didn't get me with a real person. I have a few walks coming up and I can't access anything so using wag is incredibly frustrating and it doesn't feel worth it most the time.
For the most part, the app is good and there's been less issues since updating. However, sometimes the messaging has issues and I can't communicate with the parent. It also won't actually save any photos I take on walks. Finally, if I dont immediately accept a walk (say I go to change my pricing really quickly) the walk completely dissappears the second I click off of it and there's no way to find it again.
App is convenient, but sometimes runs slow or needs a restart. Support is also always slow to reply. Try your best to figure it out w.o their help because they likely won't respond until it's too late. The notifications pop up but aren't there when I open the app. If I click on the notification, it pops up, but it won't pop up again if you click out to check your schedule. Then, a boost will show up bc no one has accepted it.
I'm always having issues with the GPS. The app constantly tells me I need to enable my GPS location in my Google maps to be able to click on the clients address. I have it enabled and am able to click on other links in other apps. So it's frustrating. I've had this issue with 3 different types of phones and reported it to the IT department and no one ever got back to me on how to fix it. It used to work until an update was done. Now it doesn't. But seems to work on iPhones.
Many technical issues I'm constantly getting errors when I try to start walks, etc. It delays my services a lot. Also, the app is not correctly counting my distances. I know I just walked over a quarter mile, but the app says .05 miles. What? And there is no technical support to report things to. I love the work, but this app... And they charge a LOT of money to pet owners, so I don't appreciate my service to clients getting messed up.
I can't even log in to my Wag! Pet Caregiver Account. Everytime I enter my email addy and password and click the login button, the app kicks back with an error message that reads "Ruh-oh! We experienced an issue while attempting to authenticate your account. Please try again in a few minutes" instead of saying "username or password is incorrect” because I entered the correct password and the error message went away. Makes no sense to have the wrong error message come up for a incorrect password
The number of ways this app doesn't work is overwhelming. This is the ONLY way I can talk to my wag clients, but it crashes at least twice a walk. I don't get paid if this app doesn't work! It doesn't track the walks correctly and it continuously doesn't show the accurate time I've walked the pets. The photo and video icon inside the app doesn't work, so I have to exit the app to get a photo-which is required as part of how I get paid. I'd write much more, but it won't let me...
The customer service for walkers is awful, I've been unable to lock a house up and when I called the emergency line they hung up on me twice and wouldn't listen to my problem, also, they won't give me my payouts and the stripe affiliate navigates you to speak with customer service which doesn't have a number. App glitches constantly, have to close it and reopen it every time I want to do something new, I miss requests because the notifications are too slow. Awful app.
This app is great for connecting you with pet parents and earning some cash. I started finding matches immediately after the beginning, and as a college student, the pay is pretty good, not to mention it doesn't even feel like work. The only gripe I have is that the app can be a bit finicky. Sometimes, certain features just break, and it can be especially annoying when I'm juggling multiple leashes in my hand and trying to get the app to work at the same time.
I've only been a walker on the app for a day and I already had glitches with my messages as well as being logged out of my account and now I cant log back in. I hope I wasn't hacked. Please fix this! Another review! After using this app for over 6 months I've had so many technical problems; the door code not loading, pictures not sending, unable to access the message board to contacts parents. This app needs to level up in a serious way or someone else is gonna come in and make a better app.
The app is so buggy that I cannot even login anymore. The app was not loading, so I reinstalled and now when I try to log in, it just crashes, gives an error message, and then the buttons aren't functional. Impossible to use. Is this what 40% of my wages is paying for? If Wag would like my assistance in troubleshooting their app, they can pay me for my time doing UI/UX consulting.
Terrible company and terrible app! The only way to bid for a booking is to choose a price in the range they preselect for you. If you set your own rates, you won't be able to bid for jobs. Their site claims you choose your own rates, which is obviously a scam. You pay for a subscription which costs insane amounts of money to not pay fees amongst other things, but you do still end up paying fees. You'll be in the hole financially if you'll work through them. I'd write more but character limit...
I've been using this app for years, I've walked over 400 dogs, and omg this app is so buggy. I have to preface with clients that the app often doesn't work. The messaging is super buggy and always tells me I have new messages when I don't. The app crashes constantly. There are often mysterious error messages. Photos won't load. It often won't track. And now the app won't even open anymore. It's the HOLIDAYS and the biggest time to pick up pet care and I can't even get the app to open.
When I first started using Wag, back in December 2019, the caregiver app was near perfect. Features worked, such as the pet camera, accurate time and location tracker. It has subsequently got worse with each update, and it updates a lot! My main gripe is that it lags and crashes often. This is one of those cases, if it's not broken don't try to fix it!
The service is great. Being able to quickly accept dog walks and other sitting based on your own schedule is a real perk. The app itself is super buggy, though. It can be really frustrating. Many times I've been in the situation where I have to restart my phone in the middle of a service call to get it to work. I've also had them end early unexpectedly or not register the various things I've tried to input. There's also no way to reset and start over. I'd say more if I had space.
The cancelation feature does not work anymore. The GPS does not track as well as it used to, you must have the walk open to get the location to update, it no longer runs in the background. There is no longer an option to text or call, only email, if there's an issue with the walk or you need to cancel (since it doesn't work in the app, even after troubleshooting) you must wait for a response to your email, which can take awhile.
Whatever the last update did, or potentially the last few updates, has caused the app to become extremely unstable for instance, today, I lost connection during a walk, and could not reconnect. I had to try to reinstall. When I tried to log in, it told me it sent me a code, but when I changed over to my email to get the code, the app crashed. I could not get the app to stay loaded while I was trying to get the code. I had to wait to go home to log into my computer to keep the app going.
