Wattpad - Read & Write Stories

I really enjoy this app. Unfortunately, it no longer allows me to view my library. Instead, I get the message "Let's find your way back home..." plus a retry button and a find stories to read button. Neither work. So I can no longer continue reading the stories I started, nor can I go to the pages of the authors I follow. You need to fix the app.

I've been using this app since 2016, and I never had a problem with logging into my account. I even paid premium just to read more stories that require coins, and now, lately, it has been logging me out constantly, and I can't even get the reset instructions. It's completely frustrating, and it needs to be fixed ASAP!

The app is great for reading fanfics and other stories. However, there's too many ads. I get every single ad every time I complete reading a SINGLE chapter. It's really annoying, and I do not want to waste $60 on just a year of ad free. I would suggest reducing the number of pop-up ads when reading chapters . For example, an ad shows up after reading around 5-7 chapters. I don't see a reason as to why there should be an ad after reading a single chapter.

Ads can be a pain, but otherwise I find it a good app. You can find practically anything you want to read about; and you can publish your own stories for others to enjoy. plus, you can read stories offline or online. besides from ads popping up, I also dislike when even if you log into a previous account, it will still ask about settings and stuff that pop up while you're reading.

I love the most recent update of watching ads to get 3 ad skips. Yes, 1 ad skip is used after every chapter, but I'm able to stack the ad skips, and I love it. while I watch a movie or something, I can just get the ads playing on my phone so I can read later. I love that the skips don't expire or go away if you exit the app. Another thing I love about the app it that if you open it and are on your main page area, not sure what to call it, it always recommends new stories with your favorite ship

It's mobile wattpad. But I seriously undrestimated the monitization they added. After evrry chapter, regardless of length, an ad will play. One that you can't even back out of, if say, *you miss-scroll to the following chapter. Then, if you intuitively scroll up, it'll play ANOTHER unavoidable ad. And, after the ad plays, it will give you a popup for premium. I don't know if writers are getting credits or compensation for that, but I hope they are.

Gone Downhill I used to really like this app but it has gone so downhill. At one point all my archived stories had been removed. With ads anymore you have to exit out of them 3 time before they actually close, and no I don't want to pay to remove them. If I did I would seek that option out myself. The exclude filtering is limited. I see the same suggested stories over and over. You get logged out randomly and told to reset your password.

At first wattpad was a great place to read free books. However now it's Ad after Ad. I read a chapter, than get an ad, next chapter than another ad. Just ad after ad after ad and I am getting sick of it! I am hoping that Wattpad actually reads their customer feedback and fixes this issue because they used to be such a great reading app but not anymore. If this continues on and nothing gets fixed I am going to find myself another app to use for reading.

Great app community-wise, but it has an abundance of issues depending on what kind of phone you use. I own a Samsung, which I use to write on here. It goes smoothly. However, there are some large and quite irritating issues. For one, if I want to type a single specific phrase in bold or italic (or both at once), the entire block of text that I've written until that point also turns bold and/or italic which is not my intention. Images/gifs (that follow TOS)magically disappear after being uploaded

I used to looove to read books from here, I've aquired a huge library. But anymore the ads have absolutely ruined any liking I had for the app.!! You can't even close the ad anymore without it making you leave the app entirely. I like that people can self publish books on here, but if I have to keep fighting the app itself to even try and enjoy the book, it's not worth it to me. If the ads don't calm down, you won't be using this app anymore.

This is an amazing app to read fanfictions and other books by passionate people who love to write. My biggest complaint is the unnecessary amount of ads. I can simply scroll wrong and an ad pops up that, at times, takes me clicking the "x" 3 to 4 different times on the same ad. Its quite frustrating as someone who loves to read but is constantly disrupted by ads.

I remember when this app used to feel like finding a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. And with so many good dedicated writers its been my #1 reading app for what feels like a decade. But I've noticed a few things. Your recommended books are always what they deem "popular". And (not surprisingly) they're pumping out ads like they're 90s makeup salesmen and after every chapter, mind you. Worst of all one ad in particular takes your from the app and tells you you have a dangerous virus.

I used to love this app but the ads are getting out of hand. It's unbearable to read anything. I get an ad after every chapter of anything, even if the chapter takes one minute to read. sometimes I won't even scroll after finishing the chapter and because I'm close to the bottom it'll play an ad anyways, and then when the ads over I still have to scroll and watch another ad, but then when that ad is over it offers me to watch an ad so I can get 3 free ad skips, which hasn't worked once...

The reading if fine. But as a publisher, I have faced many problems publishing my book. I want to change the name of the book and also want to change the bio of my book, but whenever I change and save my work, when I refresh the page, the old name appears. I have tried deleting the app and reinstalling it, and also tried to delete cache, but the result stays the same. Please fix the issue, or else I can't change the name and bio of the novel

I write on the app and that works fine for me, but I would like to suggest adding a few features for reading. when I pull up someone book that I had been previously reading, there's no way to tell where I left off. so can you allow my votes to be seen by me on the book's table of contents? also I may accidentally skip voting because I was enthralled in the story, being able to see my votes on the whole story would help a lot. and perhaps a bookmark feature.

used to be Writer friendly, but now it seems like a chore to edit anything it jumps so bad when trying to edit a chapter. The app is also starting to feel like spam for anyone just starting out. The only comments you really get are just people trying to get you to pay them to promote your book. It's almost constant. Some are understanding and kind about it, but others can be quite nasty towards people.

The first time I have read on this app was pretty good. reasonable ad amounts. But when I started to read more, much more ads started to pop up after every single chapter. another thing is that I can't log in very easily on mobile and have to result to using my computer which works just fine. Whenever I also try to read on mobile, it automatically kicks me out of the app or tells me the story was deleted, even though it tells me I can read it on computer

It's a decent app, there's lots of stuff to read. However, I've been trying all day to write my own story but I can't even finish the first page because Wattpad won't let me save it. Even if I press the save button a dozen times, I'm told that an error occurred and that my work can't be saved. At the top it'll sometimes say the page was just saved but once I exit the page or the entire app and come back, everything I wrote is gone. I've even tried deleting and reinstalling the app.

UPDATE from 4/24/2024; I like reading the stories on here! They're really good. However, when I'm in the middle of reading, the app starts to glitch up on me & takes me back to the beginning of the story. That part needs to be fixed, but other than that, is a good app for reading & writing your own stories! I don't mind the ads! Those don't bother me at all (plus, they really don't last that long anyway)!

I used to really love the app but the ads are now out of control... The app glitches all the time and I end up having to watch the same ads 4 or 5 times in between chapters because it refuses to go to the next chapter. It makes me want to delete the app completely some times. Also, I've tried earning 3 ad skips multiple times and more often than not, I want all the ads and then something goes wrong and I dont end up getting my ad skips. incredibly frustrating and disappointing.
