At first glance the content is terrific and the depth of info is more than your basic weather apps. The layout is logical and the ease of reading and navigating the app is sensible. It scores poor marks in the overload of ads as well as the selling of my information to 3rd parties about my location. It probably is in the fine print somewhere but I received a notification about their access to my info and the selling to 3rd parties is not something I consent to anymore. Uninstalled.
Decent. Ads not too bad. Widgets are few and not very good. Since it is subscription based it is very expensive. If it had a lifetime purchase option I would buy it. Also, the same info is on their website (without ads) so why should I pay for the app? I just spent $25 lifetime for a different weather. I would rather have bought this one....
I used the app with Android Auto and it's off to a good start! I was pretty much able to follow the sky conditions and the map provided was OK to drive and follow with route numbers and state lines. I couldn't use split screen...that would be nice. Also, a compass would be nice. Good start! I didn't test it fully, but look forward to finding more features.
Full screen ads are a bit much as there's already a quarter page ad plus a banner at the bottom. The subscription pricing is way too high to consider getting the paid version. EDIT: there are now even more ads on the main screen in addition to full page ads and the bottom banner. I get it, it's a free app & you have to generate revenue with ads, but 8€ for the no-ad "pro" version is just too high. Comes off as greedy, esp when considering the v. aggressive anti ad-blocker strategy on the website
Seems like a decent weather app, and the fact that it works with Android Auto is a major plus. The one issue that I have with it is the use of nonstandard colors on the radar map. They make things very confusing, especially in the spring and fall, when the possibility of snow/sleet is there. There is overlap in the colors for heavy rain and snow. Which one is it today, a severe rain storm or a severe snow storm? Can't tell because the colors are the same! PLEASE, use standard radar colors!!
This app is OK from what I can tell, while navigating to see what kind of features, 2 min in was blocked with ads, can't even set it up all the way before the pushy adds, second it don't even have a real storm tracker with details, 3 apps I have already track hurricanes, flooding, tornados, etc with full details, not just some tiny colored dots. How bout a forecast, that's what I was looking for to compare with my other apps.
Ok, it works with android auto, but it's very limited. Also, in my particular vehicle, it won't split screen. The color scheme is terrible. Blue is for snow...not rain. If they want to be different, at least give the option to have different color schemes. I've noticed the current day's weather is off. It's almost as if it is looking at the previous day. As for future forecasts, their guesses are about on par with other apps, but sometimes they also show up a day off.
Bought the "pro lifetime ad-free" offer back before this app started charging a yearly fee (or had ads at all)... But then... They switched to an intrusive ad platform, requiring a yearly fee to get rid of them. Anybody who bought the "ad free license" (like myself) years ago apparently weren't good enough supporters, as it did not carry over to the new platform. Yes... This would have remained one of the best apps if the platform didn't change and they didn't screw the early supporters.
Easy to use, love the features My only complaint is the color on the radar, as it can get confusing. The color blue is used for rain when all other maps use green. Blue is typically used for snow. Can get confusing living in the north at quick glance thinking it's snowing when it raining. Maybe change the color to match every other weather radar around. Otherwise great app and easy to follow. Love the time is connected to my alarms and makes it easy to use without having another icon.
Works with Android Auto. Would be five stars if I could change the color of the selector on the screen in the car to make it easier to see. Right now you can hardly see which selection (layers, settings, zoom in/out, etc.) you're making because the ring around the outside of the button almost perfect matches the background. Other than that this app is perfect on Android Auto. Great information, accurate, easy to understand, perfect for seeing what you're driving into or through.
I've had this app for years. I love the widget. I can see the radar without having to open anything. The radar is usually the only thing I want to see and I check it often. I don't know any other weather app that makes it this easy to check the radar. The layer that allows you to see lightening strikes is fun and helps with safety. Wish there were no ads though. I think there were no ads a while ago. I'd pay a couple bucks to go ad free.
I had given 5 stars, now down to 2. This used to be a great tool for radar forecasts, more reliable than a regular weather forecast, and it used to be pretty accurate. Now i find the current radar to be completely wrong. It is off by at least 2 to 3 hours for NYC, showing the rain ans.snow we are.expecting in about 3 hours as current condition. This is not the first time that I noticed this lately. The current weather maps are simply wrong, it shows maps from a few hours in the future as curren
no barometric pressure chart!??! That's the one thing that I REALLY want to see. As a former Navigation Officer I like to be able to see what's actually happening. I joke that a BP chart and my arthritis is all I need to forecast the weather. and with them I can usually outdo most forecast models. (macro climate here is very singular and well known to me, but without the relevant information I can't do it. Looking to replace this asap.
Good app, I really like that it includes the weather symbols for Sun, Rain, and more on the map. I don't mind adverts on the free version, but compared to other free weather apps like Msn Weather or Met Office (where this app pulls it's data from in the UK) I do think the amount of advertising and HUGE banners is excessive. I'll keep using this app for a while, alongside other free weather apps, but the amount of advertising may result in an uninstall soon 🤷
I've always found this app fairly accurate. The increase in Ads over the years speaks to its success and I was considering paying to get rid of them. However, recently I received a message to say my location would be shared with third parties. As per the review by Gero Frisch on 23rd Jan, it seems that even if you pay, they will STILL share your location with 3rd parties. Sadly, rather than paying to get rid of ads, I will now be looking for an alternative app.
Dissapointing, shows alot of good stuff but you have to look hard to even see the most important thing 'the wind direction' yes there is a teeny weeny arrow but even the radar shows nothing of the wind direction so where is the ' NW ' etc ? uninstalled too convoluted tiny interface not user friendly at all.
More accurate than most weather apps, but also way off at times. Seems to be hit and miss, i.e. 50/50, so yeah. But overall fairly accurate, looking back on the years I've been using it. We'll see how it goes in future. I've found some more recent setups which fare better.
Excellent app packed with free features. The radar is spot on with rain 🌧 👌 Wish I'd found it sooner as its now my number 1 weather app as its so easy to use as well. I wish I could give it 6 stars 🌟 🤩 2 years in and after the first install I still love it. This gives you accurate information rather than a percentage of possible rain. With the amount of it we've had since January 1st its brilliant as my job is managing new build houses and when to pack up from fishing on the days off.
Since this latest version, it seems that it pushes notification for every little rain! WHY?? There's a poor setting "only alerts, or all", I've already chosen "only weather alerts", but it keeps pushing every change of weather !! annoying. Please have the right setting to be notified only when there's a real weather alert.
This is an excellent app. I use it daily and share information so I can warn friends in other places (candles, flasks of boiled water, nip to the shop and get food that doesn't need cooking). It is my goto weather forecaster and gives me 5 minute segments. I can time my dog 🐕 walks to the minute. He hates the rain. So yes, use the app. I think I paid a small fee to skip ads and get 5 mins option. Free is 15 minute segments. It has layers for general, precipitation, storms, temps. Zoomable. 😁
