App has been loading extremely slowly since the last app update a few months ago. I spend way too much time staring at a spinner on a loading screen, when it used to load instantly. Before that update, this was my favourite weather app for Canadian weather. Environment Canada is the best source for forecasts and warnings, and I frequently use the radar map to see when storms might blow over while planning road trips.

The latest update for the widget has broken it. I can no longer click on the widget and get the detailed forecast. Clicking on the widget opens a blank screen on my phone. Plus the text is pushed together so I can not read it. I tried reloading the widget but the problems remain. Please FIX THIS! The app is unusable as is now.

The widgets for this app often fail or break with each Android update. I just want a very basic widget with the current temperature, not a complicated one that can't be resized and shows incorrect information or doesn't even work.

I the reason why i gave it 4 star was because for a very long time I used this app but one day it stopped working and said couldn't locate you even after I checked the permissions and it had them all activated. So could you please send me a email to help me. thank you.

6 years after my original review, nothing is fixed, widgets still can't be resized, etc...useless weather app! You're not listening to end-users, but that's typical of governments, you're all completely useless!

Works great, is reliable and easy to use, however the app widget is a very ridged size, and therefore doesn't stack with my 5x2 other weather widgets, so I would appreciate it if this were updated.

Would be a LOT better if they got rid of the "Messages" section and the useless articles that are the only things that go in there, as well as the red notification badge with the count of new articles.

PROBLEM? TRY THIS. The app seemed to have stopped working, saying "No current observations" for days, until I tapped to open the location dropdown. My current and saved location (which were the same) were still listed, and tapping either of those brought back all the weather info. Otherwise, the app is generally very good. Among other things, the past-24-hours info is useful, and I also enjoy the posts with background info, as well as being able to switch between English and French.

I like the straightforward look of this app, so many weather apps don't give you what you want, this one gives you the weather right away and loads fast. Right off the bat there is also a widget, although that could use work as you cannot resize it, it crashes a lot and there are only two options, one showing the next few days that can be resized would be great. The one main item missing is the UV index, very surprised this is not included.

Great to have the app directly from Environment Canada. Been using it since it was in beta and find it extremely stable and reliable. I wish the widget was a bit more configurable such as having an option for background colour and font colour as well as specifying what is displayed. My background is dark. Having a white background with black text takes away from the esthics. I would like to be able to switch from hourly forecast to next 3 or 5 days, etc. And like one other reviewer, wish the icons and colour scheme were more "realistic" and modern rather than the flat look. "Fix" those issue and I will come back to give you 5 stars! Other than that, it's a great start.

Overall a much better app information wise than most weather apps. Although trying to size the widget to display the "Feels like" temperature feels intentionally obtuse. More options for that would be great, the oversized picture of clouds/snow is wholly unnecessary. Or even an option to display the primary temperature as the "feels like". In the words of Lewis Black: "I don't need to know what it would feel like if conditions were ideal." It's winter, if the windchill adds -10° that important.

I live in Lethbridge, AB, where wind speed is the most important piece of info, and I wish it was more visible in the app, particularly in the 7 day forecast. I wish it was possibly to set a default view. For example, I want to see hourly forecast as soon as I open the app. Dark mode would be nice to have also. Kudos for no ads.

Poorly Made. It doesn't show the accumulation of snow, which is the most important part during the winter. also, the widget is useless. constantly shows N/A. what's the point? honestly it's frustrating.

Great app for weather information, forecasts & updates. We always rely & use this app to watch for weather conditions. Thanks too that this app is available now. I was trying to download this app before but was not available. Thank you WeatherCan. More power & God bless.

It's okay but not as good as the website. Doesn't show you the day at a glance (which the website does). Also, wastes time accessing device location. With the website you just make a bookmark shortcut to your city of interest. Most annoying, and the reason I am uninstalling after this review, is that it gives alerts that you cannot opt out of. The website is there when I want it, and not when I don't want it, which is how it should be.

Great app. I would love if the widgets had less wasted white space and larger fonts. I would also love if one of the widgets had a clock in it. The tiny tiny tiny timestamp in the bottom right corner exists, but if I have to put my phone two inches from my face to read it, it's kinda pointless. So the time exists in the widget already; it would just be nice to have it at a legible size (and also customizable from 24-hr format to 12-hr).

terrible app, it doesn't give accumulation numbers on any type of precipitation. eg. snow or rain. always says flurries at 40% when sun is out or clearly snowing. For my job accuracy is key when dealing with storms.

Excellent app ... most of the time. Right now it says NO CURRENT OBSERVATIONS and has been like this over 24 hours. Has happened before. No info as to what is wrong. Still not working.

Frustrated. The old app was perfectly good. What problem were you solving when you updated it. I used it all the time. It worked perfectly well. Now, I can't even get the wretched thing to load inside 2mins. When it does finally come alive, you can't locate me. I can't even manually enter my location. Disappointingly weak and seemingly untested.

The new version is very nice but the widget is disappointing. The fonts are too small and it's trying to provide too much information. It would be better if it just had current conditions with large fonts so you can see it at a glance. Even better, but the radar map for the current location in the widget and maybe just the current temp in the corner!
