WEBTOON: Manga, Comics, Manhwa

This new UI is horrible, and the pop-up ads in particular are abysmal for several reasons. First, when I open the app 9/10 times I just want to get to a series that updated, and anything that pops up I'm going to get out of the way ASAP or sometimes accidentally press. The quality is also terrible- the ads do idiotic things like misrepresent the point of the comic or even misgender the protagonist. And yeah, the ads are often for comics I already read- a waste of everyone's time. Go back plz.

If y'all don't stop forcing comics into my "currently reading" list I'm uninstalling, so help me. Click the X on an ad for another webtoon? Nah, you clearly want to read that. Now you have to delete it from your list. Sometimes I boot up the app to find stuff I never even once clicked on in my list. The other day it opened up a comic I have never read and put me on page 130 something as if I'd been reading it all along. This has been going on for months and it's obnoxious.

Was a premium subscriber for a few years, gave it a 5 star rating. They recently changed the premium so you get less of a discount, thus you pay more coins per episode and in exchange you don't get ads and get a coupon for their shop. It was offered as an "upgrade" but is really just them giving me less for the same price. I'd rather watch ads and keep my discount where it was. I unsubscribed. If I get the option to go back to my original plan, I might change my rating, but not likely.

I've been reading webtoons for at least 10 years now. I love them! I understand that ads support the authors and are quite necessary, but if you dont remove the 6 second ads from the top of my screen when I open something to read, I will refuse to ever touch this app again. I liked the feel of the app because it feels clean and like I had a choice in watching ads to support. Now, the screen feels cramped for 6 seconds when I open anything to read.

It was fine when you could use coins to read early pages but now it's gotten too far and now you have to pay for every page in one comic. I loved this one comic but now I can't read it anymore because it's purchase locked! that's unbalanced and unnecessary, I can't use this app anymore- not only is there not many good comics but now the ones that are good is locked behind tons of coins, getting currency is impossible without using real money.

I use to love this app until they monopolized it. From the forced choices of either buying coins to unlock a 2 minute chapter to not having the chapter unlocked for at least 43 days... You have lost my business and my 5 stars. I will continue to read what is free, and then search the internet for a free version of your webtoons. FYI - A lot of their webtoons that aren't finished on the app, are either finished or have tons of other chapters elsewhere. YW.

The ad pass is terrible because half the time the ad pass is unavailable and the the times it does work there is a good chance that the ad you just watched won't grant you access to the episode you watched the ad for. I only still have the app and read comics on it because I am just reading the ones that are completely free, no ads or anything. The UI update and is awful!!! Change it back to the old one! This UI hurts not only readers but also the artists and authors of the comics! Pop up ads.

I've been on Webtoon since about 2019, most of the stories are genuinely amazing. With that being said though, what Webtoon advertises the most has to be unlocked by ads or coins. Though there are ways to get free coins, they expire after about a week. You could work for a month trying to get free coins, then POOF! They're gone. This is really frustrating. Overall, the comics and authors are amazing, the app, not so much.

I can't tell what I've read anymore. Why have read episodes darkened for as long as I can remember, only to suddenly change it so that the read episodes be lighter than the unread ones. Also, I realize it's probably more of a problem for English, but having every episode being marked with "read" doesn't help when present tense and past tense are spelled the same, so it just looks like everything has been read. I liked it better when only the episodes you read got marked

My last issue was resolved, and I restarted my subscription. However, now there are ads being played for any episodes that are publicly available and "free". As a paying subscriber, you are still required to watch the ads for episodes you previously paid for. What's the point of buying the episodes if you'll have to watch ads when they go up "free"?

Huge disappointment to come back and see every last comic, including finished ones from years ago be locked behind a pay wall. For 40 episodes of just 1 comic, it's $10 to unlock. Definitely not worth it anymore if you're someone who likes to read multiple titles. Webtoon used to be a fantastic place to discover and read new stories with the option to unlock more episodes a week early(up to a point), but it's become yet another cash grab gimmick that forces you to spend heavy for little reward.

Check if your ad's even work! Tired of the same ad not loading. It eventually let's me exit it, then immediately makes your whole app freeze on a loading screen. Makes me restart the app and I have to wait for the next chance to watch another ad. Oh but then it gives me the same ad so I have to restart your app 20 times in a row(WISH I was exaggerating)!!!! About to just uninstall the app and go to an actual library for real books. Walking to a library would be better then this..

Started watching "Sweet Home" on Netflix but cancelled subscription before series ended. Learned it was based on a webtoon, so got this to try to finish the series. The first handful of chapters are free, but then you have to pay or watch an ad for every chapter. That means $30 or over 100 ads. Ridiculous. The app works well and seems to have good variety, which is why it's not 1-Star.

I'm so frustrated with this app. Been screwed over by treasure hunt, again! I did an offer and beat 1k levels of this game. I watched over 1k ads to do this. I had a video showing I beat it on time. They gave me the previous rewards, but not the last one for 504 coins. They gave a list of reasons why I might have been disqualified, but none applied to me. They closed my ticket, and then there was nothing i could do. Can't even try to talk to someone else to get help.

I can't find some. stories in the app. it's not like the one's I'm looking for were removed because when I found a link to the story it sent me to the story on the app and let me read it, they just wouldn't show up when I searched for it in the app. also the free way of earning coins is ridiculous. the app can't even track the progress correctly. just make us watch a butt load of ads to get coins, at least we'd know we're getting them instead of hoping our progress gets tracked correctly.

Used to love the app. But it's gone down hill almost over night. Ads that take up 1/4 the screen until they are over, Either having to pay money or watch an ad for every episode ones you used to be able to daily pass. Constantly getting random ones popping up as i'm scrolling which instantly opens the webtoon and adds it to my recommendations even if it is nothing similar to the rest of what I read, etc. Seems the devs are turning it into a cash grab.

They took away daily pass and made those daily pass episodes/series cost coins. Some series are stuck completely behind a paywall; it used to be just the last 3-5 episodes. Now it's the whole series. Considering some series are hundreds of episodes, it can get expensive, especially if you're reading many stories that are only accessible with coins (not the case for every story though; some are still free or can be read with ads).

I'm giving a 1 star rating until this is addressed/fixed! I opened the app today and realized that Daily Pass on completed series is gone and now the only options are to watch an advert or spend coins. It's bad enough that series are being locked away under Daily Pass almost immediately when completed but to now require readers to pay to reread--that's disgusting. I'm not going to "buy" them in the app if at any point they can be taken away!

This app really used to be 5-stars. Then they added ads, which take time to pop up and you'll end up accidentally tapping the wrong chapter to read. One strike. Then, they updated to where you can't see if you left a like on an episode, which I used to use as a way to see if I finished reading an episode or not. Two strikes. Now, they stopped accurately showing if I have read recent episodes. I see several series have new updates but they don't show unread episodes. FIX IT OR I PIRATE.

I have been using the webtoon app since I was 12 and am now 19. I remember when it felt like an app that actually cared about its users, and now there are more pop-up adds than the average pirating websites. They force new comics onto you, and even if you click the x, it takes you there anyway. The comics I have been reading for years end and they almost instantly ads lock it to read it. And now most of the comics are corporate slope rather than beautiful works of art.
