Western Union Send Money Now

I got this app to send money quickly without having to wait in lines at the store. Unfortunately it only worked a few times. After that it would say the money would be there in minutes but once I paid it would change to say it would take 3 days. After the 3 days it would either cancel or refund the money. Which is good because I wouldn't lose the money but it also never made it to my family members. I reached out to them asking why this kept happening but all they did was track my order.

it has taken an extreme amount of my time to complete this transaction! It kept having me to go back to pages and wouldn't accept very accurate info that I'd input. It kept sending to my bank's app for verification but wouldn't return me to where i had left off to complete the transaction requiring me to start from scratch only to arrive at verifying again. I tried using it again in the wee hours of this morning and ended up going to the website which was a much better experience.

it was a struggle. I had a problem with connecting my bank account. The app connected me to other banks and other's accounts. I never tried completing a transaction, I assumed it wouldn't have worked but if it did complete a transaction with someone else's account I could have had a world of problems. I contacted customer support. They were excellent! But, when I went back in I used my debit card and everything went well.

Western Union is great to transfer money when it works, but most of the time it doesn't. It prevents users from copying and pasting data from sources the user trusts to instead go thru an error prone process of typing it over and over. It also frequently fail on payments saying the transaction was declined, but different banks always point to "merchant error". And then when you need to copy the transaction number... Well you can't because they also block that. WOW. Half a year to follow up???

Literally not a single one of these international money transferring apps actually work, Western Union included. it's enough to make you want to pull your hair the hoops they make you jump through to simply send money overseas. then once you finally get through all of those hoops, they just say "your transfer could not be completed" followed by an arbitrary error code that literally means nothing with no real solution or reason as to why. I swear all of these apps are just data farms.

spent 12 hours min trying to make my first transfer over the course of a week's time. I spent hrs on the phone 5x w/ customer support. did all I was told & still wasn't able to send money through the app. they forced me to go to a physical location in a blizzard & then charged a high fee to send the money & only the final customer service agent told me that after following every step & jumping through every hoop they put me through. more than frustrated. a complete waste of timel

Really hard experience to go through. Very frustrating, every time I left the screen, like to check a verification number sent to text, the app would take me back to the log-in screen and take forever to get me back to where I was. And sometimes not even there but take me to what I've already done. Never been so infuriating with an app. 1 stars, cause it got the money to where it needed to be, FINALLY!

I uninstalled after being too much a pain to set up. it doesn't allow you to have any interruptions & if you are interrupted it wipes the page clean so you have to start over. honestly I don't receive through wu often enough to go through this. I don't recall PayPal, venmo, or cashapp being this challenging, so I'll pass. Besides I couldn't find a definitive answer as to whether you can transfer money received to your bank account for free & instantly, so why bother.

It does what it needs to do. I'm finally rating it so it'll stop popping up. There are annoying ads at the end of every transaction thus the low rating, plus the CONSTANT prompt to rate the app. It could be easier to use. I should be able to easily select a past contact but I can't. And it is truly unhelpful there. Please fix this so you don't have to totally reenter someone's information you've sent to before, if you're sending a different amount.

Un-installing the app as it has no more use for me. Several transfer requests were declined without explanation. I tried five times. Every time I had to wait for hours just to get a declined notice. I checked the info several times for correctness. Customer service was totally useless. They even got nasty at times which I do not appreciate. Finally had it. Found a different service, less expensive, much better conversion rates, and easy to use.

Update: 9-12-18 This app is a very quick and easy way to send money. I appreciate the ease and speed. No issues with early logout once the receiver is set-up. .......... The refresh rate to log-out is too short. They ask for phone number and email address. In the few short minutes it took for each of them I was logged out. I had to start all over. Other than that -- it's a great little appt. First time user.

Despite the high fees, the app contains annoying ads and popups. If you refuse to let it bother you with unnecessary notifications, there are frequent popups that that make it difficult to log in. Worse, it will corrupt the name of the sender randomly. This means that it will send to the wrong person, requiring that one cancel the transaction. This may tie one's money up for a week while they wait for a refund. Horrible app. There are many alternatives. Use them instead.

Tried this on Dec 2019 to send money back home for Christmas. It kept saying transaction can not be completed so I kept trying. It finally went thru . A few days later I was surprised to get an email that a second transaction went through. Good thing I had enough funds to cover the duplicate transaction. To make matters worse I was also charged a fee for that duplicate transaction. Today I thought I would give the app a second chance. Maybe they made improvements. NOPE! Stay away, people!

It's a really good app, but for one detail. There are not enough paths to navigate details once you've started a transaction. I often have to cancel a transaction and start again because I forgot to use my WU points for a fee discount. In the final review window, there's no way to use those points, if you previously forgot. Also, if you use the edit and resend feature, there's no line item for using my WU points.

App was great over a year ago. Transactions were seamless. It is too glitchy now. Slow on launch, and usually requires a relaunch because it just loads forever. Once on the app, it sometimes remembers you and your receivers, and other times it doesn't. The app crashes often during the process, and a lot of times it happens as soon as you hit send. WU website works just fine, but the app needs technical attention. I've reinstalled the app several times in the last few months. Nothing has changed.

Every time I try to send money to India, it gives an error code. WU has my bank info, and only charges 99¢ for bank transfers. But they ALWAYS fail, because they want you to spend MORE using a different account, like credit card. It takes weeks for them to "fix" your account for the transfer to work. The next time you want to send money, IT HAPPENS ALL OVER AGAIN! I cannot decide if they are incompetent, or are forcing the system to fail on the cheapest transfer in order for you to pay more. 👎

App wouldn't let me send money with either of my cards, and kept declining transfers. I checked my info multiple times and everything was correct. Claimed to send money "in minutes" but when I contacted customer service they told me it could take hours. After multiple attempts to send money through this app, I am going to have to find another way to get the money where it needs to go. This urgent matter could have been dealt with more quickly by other means.

horrible! we put our information correctly, but somehow the names got switched around when I receiver tried to pick up. we tried to correct the names three times in the app. but it kept getting switched back incorrectly. they refunded our money without our permission, and now they're holding it for 7 days. this app is a mess, try some other company. thanks for keeping our money Western Union so you can make interest on it. great way to get new customers

You can't see what you are doing on the mobile app because there's a big information notice on top and some advertisements on the bottom, leaving a one inch area to work in. It definitely needs to be updated. Both transfers I attempted to send had to be canceled. I couldn't see to cancel them in the app so I had to call western union. It was very inconvenient!

The best way to send money. UPDATE. Had to bring it down from 5 stars. The last few times I've had a hard time inputting the amount, because it rejects my entry on either currency...probably a rounding error issue, so I keep entering different amounts until I hit the matching (round) amount that it can accept as valid. UPDATE2) I sent "money in minutes" and the review team is holding my money...I send thousands of dollars every year and NOW they decide to hold my money for who knows what!!!
