Articles are posted for much too long. Too many times the posting reads,"We will update as information becomes available", yet they never update. Not much different than reporting what one might hear on a 911 dispatch app. To bring it up to date, the app has NOT improved. There are signs of a complete lack of editorial correction of grammar and punctuation. Overall it seems like a seventh grade book report. Too many times there are omissions of the Subjects name, or location of incident.

Nice concept, IT guys should use it and fix it. The stories are easy to navigate, it does keep me informed on happenings in my area. However 90% of the time I can't watch any of the videos. They start and either stop halfway through or the audio vanishes or some other stupid thing occurs. The ads and "sponsored" articles are obnoxious and add nothing to the app.

Most frustrating part is how any notification on my phone shuts the radio feed off. Even just a message received means I have to go back into the app and start the feed again. Sometimes it shuts off without a reason. Almost like it can't stream for longer than a few minutes. Tried it again because of severe weather. It would not allow me to listen to the live radio, and live TV was showing an interview about recycling, nothing about the tornado that had touched down.

Articles don't always load, which was annoying, but now, after the most recent update, ads redirect me out of the app even though I didn't touch them and I'm about to uninstall because of it. Edit: Dropping to one star and looking for a replacement news app. This app is unusable. You can't even touch anywhere the screen to scroll without it going to an ad.

Haven't been able to open this app for almost a month now! Everytime I try to open the app I get an error message telling me to check my network connection, there isn't anything wrong with my connection it's the faulty WHIO app not working as usual! I have deleted and re-installed the app multiple times and it still doesn't work, seriously thinking of switching to a better app because nothing can me worse than this mess of an app!!

Still glitchy. Downloaded the new version 30 minutes ago and it has stopped playing your radio station 3 times now. Recieved a phone call and the app continued to play during the phone call. Uninstalling app. Update: 1-6-25 Downloaded the app hoping that after years it would have been improved. I can't get through adds to actually listen to the radio station. This is useless. Tried it a few different times. Every time it just plays endless adds.

Haven't been able to get app to load for a couple days.. also, as someone else mentioned, the issue of when you are scrolling, suddenly it takes you back to top of page.. almost ready to uninstall.. I already uninstalled their weather app, after it changed their illustations on the radar section.. I like to be able to see, rain/snow/bad weather, but with the new illustration, you can't..I now use Weatherbug..

Zero *! Nonstop sports updates?! Guess what? I don't care about sports! But you can't tell WHIO that! The "customize notifications" is a JOKE. I have the app set so that I should get NO sports notifications. Literally, all the notifications I've gotten for a month- sports, sports & more sports 10+ a day?! Get a life, WHIO!! Most of what they cover isn't even actual news & it's super annoying. Plus, the app constantly crashes and/or just wont open at all. Horrible app.

Spell check would a useful tool to use if the person(s) who create your content cannot spell. There is a difference between "weather" & "whether" or "wear" & "where". Yes, both misspellings I have seen in this app. No respectable media outlet publishes content with as many spelling errors as I've seen in this app. Disappointing at the least.

App won't run 80% of the time. When it does its just reruns of the same 20 minute clip of yesterday's news. Also no national or world news! This is a rural area where people like us cannot get satellite TV. It would be nice if we, near Bellefontaine in your viewing area, could depend on this 'local' area station to keep us informed. There is nothing around us that does this.

I've used this app for about 10+ years now. I have never had any issues at all until 2 days ago. It will not load. AT ALL! Keeps telling me to check my connection. All of that is fine! I uninstalled the app and re-installed it. Reset my phone. Still nothing. Just keeps trying to load. Not ok! I use this app to keep up with the local news as I work 2 jobs and have a family to take care of. Not much time to sit and watch the news on TV. PLEASE FIX THIS!!

When you're reading a story pushing the back button at the bottom closes the app instead of taking you back to the main app screen like it has always been. You must use the apps back button up at the top left of the screen now. Not an improvement or useful.

why does my back button close the app out all the way but my home button makes the app go into second screen mode

UPDATE: For 3 months, this app refuses to open. It is useless. Please fix it. Still will not open. It hasn't worked for months. The app will not open at all. It did when I first downloaded it, but for over a week, it won't open. I get notifications, but I only see part of the story. When I click the notification, the app looks like it starting. I get the spinning circle for several minutes, but it never opens.

It's a good app, once you get the notifications turned off. Otherwise you will get hounded. Especially with stories that broke the prior week and are now old news. Whoever does the data entry on the website doesn't use spellcheck. So, you will find errors.

It is a very informative app. All the News, Weather, and Sports all up to date, and traffic reports when you need them, before you leave of about to come into a accident congested area, you can reroute and keep moving instead of sitting in traffic for who knows how long. Get the app, it will save you time and much aggravation.

I'm a WHIO fan and like watching the morning crew while getting ready for work. This review is solely based off this app. Unfortunately, I cannot get the app to work as of late. I have uninstalled it several times to no avail. Same message every time I try to open "App Could Not Be Started - The app could not be started. Please check your network connection and try again." I do not have a network connection issue. I am very frustrated by this.

As of yesterday, this app gives the notification for the headline, but when I click on it to read the article, the article isn't found. This also happens when I try to open the app and it doesn't load anything except the banner video. Very disappointed that it stopped working.

Absolutely filled to the brim with data trackers, I have an app on my phone that tells you what the app is tracking and this is by far the worst I've seen selling your data to over 5 different data companies including location, what hpone you're using browsing data and cookies plus alot more, they can even see these when you're not using the app! I would not keep this app on your phone...
