I opened the app for the first time and it crashed twice within 1 min, I couldn't even get signed up. I also don't love that it requires your phone number - for a not very well-known app that I haven't gotten to try out & don't particularly have reason to trust yet, I don't love having to give my number. Also hearing very conflicting things about their data collection. I like the idea, but I'm deleting it for now & would only bother again if some improvements are made to the app itself.
I like the idea of the app. Sometimes it's easier to talk to strangers or people that understand the struggle you are going through. I like being there to help people. I do notice that I have to completely close the app before being able to respond to someone as the send button does not work. I also have sent messages to a couple people and only show one active conversation. I did not see there was a limitation during set up
My biggest complaint is that the chat feature feels super buggy. I was trying to type a message while putting my kid to sleep and any time my screen turned off or switched orientations, my message would be erased. No big deal really, except I was more than halfway through writing out stuff that I had never told anyone, and it was a lot, and had to start over 5 times. Once I finally sent the message it said sent, and then just disappeared.
I was really looking forward to the ap, unfortunately I wasted 2 hours trying to access it. There is no way to contact anyone for assistance and I never received a verification code. I figured the server was busy, so I tried again later and was told to sign into my account and had to have my account authorized via verification code. Again I tried and again received error codes and resending verification codes that never came through.
A five star idea but still slightly buggy. First off I feel like this app should be a lot more popular than it is I think it will literally save lives it is absolutely incredible. My only issue is that sometimes it doesn't send the message even after it shows it is sent and then when you close it out and open it back up the message is gone. There is also an issue with not being able to hit the send button.
A fantastic concept but execution is buggy still. I downloaded the app and tried to sign up but it would crash over and over and over before I was even able to type anything in, just to sign up. I absolutely hope to come back to this app later when it's been improved but for now those who are new to it need to know you may have difficulty even just signing up without it crashing.
the app works well when you can sign in. I got logged out at some point and instead of letting me sign back in it puts me through like I'm creating a new account. then doesn't let me in since my phone number already has an account. it's very frustrating when you are looking for support.
I'm pretty sure this app is dead? The list of people in need of help is always exactly the same, down to which accounts are showing as being online. And every single one has the flashing red "no messages" status. In about 3 days I haven't seen it change once.
The app has gotten better. However it failed to notify me that multiple people messaged me while my flag was up. Big issue in my opinion
App is always buggy The first day I used it it was pretty awesome but the next time I went to use it today it said invalid password, which was not invalid, and now when I try to reset my password it says invalid OTP.... which it's not. I was trying to log on because I already wanted to break something so this just makes me want to break my phone, so I don't know if I can go back.
I absolutely love this. I've only been using it for about a day but I can already see what makes this work so well! I do think there's some bug issues currently. Certain things in my profile aren't staying saved, and notifications are coming through even though I have pushed notifications on! I look forward to these being fixed! And thank you for such a wonderful app.
I think this app is a wonderful resource for connecting with people who experience some of the same things I do. It makes support more personal and relateable which helps when I feel alone; but it also allows you to keep your anonymity. On top of that it also has a resource list of hotlines for those who are looking for help and guidance.
This app is amazing!! Tonight I was in a rough place and tried the 988 website chat and after having issues with that I remembered this app I had no issues getting in and getting my white flag raised. Within minutes I had people to talk to. Sometimes it's not about resources and medicines, sometimes you just need someone to talk to. So in combination with having people to talk to and the CHOICE for resources, I will definitely recommend this app to others!! Thank you to the creators!!
The app has potential, however you never know when someone messages you unless you are constantly checking the app. There are no push notifications. Also, no one really ever messages you. I've had the app for days and one person tried chatting me and then they never responded again. No one answered my messages I sent out to them. All in all please fix this because otherwise no one is really being helped. (Yes, I have checked my settings to make sure notifications are on. Nothing.)
I like what this app is trying to do but... it's so buggy. :/ Sigh. And besides that, I do wish there were a way to access the service using a website instead of a mobile app. It would be a lot more accessible. So I'm stuck sending messages to myself from my computer to copy and paste into the app, that way I can use a keyboard.
the app is good but the profile editing section is very bugged. If your not from US that section will bug and not allow you to switch your profile picture or edit basic information because it will say that your phone number is "invalid". however your number was already verified and theres nothing wrong. you get stuck in a loop
I was reluctant to try the app because they were having connection issues according to other reviews I read. They seem to have resolved those since I've been using it for a couple weeks now with zero problems! I can't recommend this app enough for people like me! It's great to be able to interact with and read stories from others who share the same feelings. I'm two weeks in, and I feel that its already been a life changer! I look forward to the future to see what more this app can offer us!
Testing the waters, seems amazing i had wished and dreamed for something like this before, i think its an incredible piece of tech for mutual aid and community, and a demonstration of how we can use the Internet for good, i found it through a paid intergram sponsorship with @dustinpoynter and couldn't be happier that i did, hope to see amazing things from it although i did just download and get used to the layout
I just downloaded the app today after talking to a prevention counselor. This idea is great, but it seems to be pretty dead. I was hoping to find a support 'group' where people are way more active and helping each other overcome obstacles life throws at them. I'll stay hopefully and keep trying though, but for now - this is my review.
After some testing I found that after sending a message to someone, you can't exit the chat for maybe at max a minute, which is fine imo, apps have their quirks, so far talking to random people who have similar issues and or just want to help keep my mind off of things is very nice and useful.
