I've been using this for years, got the pro version "for life" for a very reasonable price back when Windscribe started. I haven't had any problems until my Pixel 7 Pro updated to Android 15. All apps updated, but Windscribe wouldn't connect anywhere. A couple of weeks in, I decided to uninstall and reinstall, everything works again. It's a really good service. Enjoy.
Great VPN when it doesn't shut off at random intervals. Without the Green Dot notification app, I wouldn't know. Sometimes, this happens in the middle of watching a movie on Firestick, potentially opening a window for hackers or others with malicious intent. Otherwise, it would get 5 stars. There's a free version with limited features, but the paid version is better & the price is very reasonable. Customer service is great too. It allows for masking & split tunneling & doesn't keep your records.
Great overall product. However, there are quite a few caveats. I'd suggest reading into their no logging policy. There are certain things that they do log. and I've been experiencing DNS leaks from windscribe default DNS provider, wiregaurd can be fingerprinted via its set packet size, it doesn't handle handshakes well. The list goes on. Investigate every aspect of the software, the more you know, the better you can safely utilize it. 3 stars because of the caveats and the lack of transparency.
All round is an amazing app and easy to use! Big down side though, if you run out of vpn data, the app refuses to let you open it to change settings (or sign up for paid)! Which led to this terrible loop, of it starting its self up, and then closing its self out in the background and just murdered my battery life! Also, it would be really nice to have a notification that vpn data is low, instead of just turning its own service off. Fix these two things, 5 star all day, and a paying customer!
Considering the free version of the VPN, it's quite transparent and accountable. Quick and easy connections, you get 10gb per month. It's much better and more trustworthy than the other "free" vpns out there. Sometimes connecting can take long or there can be errors, but most of the time it's good. The laid version is also not crazy expensive.
Update: the new version works very well and stays connected. I'm very happy with it now. Love the service - it is fast and easy to use (I have the Pro subscription). The desktop app works very well but the Android app lacks some functionality and has some connection problems. The Android app frequently disconnects and there is a notification that it is waiting for a usable internet connection even when there is one and I have to repeatedly reconnect manually. Not very stable. The app hasn't been upgraded for almost a year now. Hopefully the app will be upgraded soon.
When it works, I love it, and think it's great. I have the Pro version after being a free member for awhile. I only use it for streaming UK & Ireland content from the US. Unfortunately, every time there's an update from these apps, I run into a lot of problems. :( Yesterday I couldn't access BBC iPlayer on my fire tablet, but could on my phone & could access everything else. Now I just did an update, & can't access anything accept RTE. :( I love Windscribe, but I'm wondering if I can do better.
I'd be appreciated if you guys fixed the bug that I couldn't enable VPN. The reason is that I couldn't connect it, it remained in connection 'till it's enabled. I've been waiting for freaking 5 days that it would enable as green light appears, but all I saw is that couldn't enable it because there's an issue in it, yet it has yellow light that couldn't connect VPN at all. Idk what is, I'm hoping that you guys figure this out for the sake of mine. I'll rate 5 starts if you guys solve and fix it.
Overall it works great, but i purchased a static ip and whenever i click it, the app crashes. Every time, without fail. EDIT I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and cleared cache and data and now it works fine. Changed from 4 stars to 5. the only negative so far has been their lack of customer support. I've opened a few support tickets and haven't heard back from them in almost a week June 2020 edit: still loving the VPN and the app is good. I've had better success with support lately.
UPDATE: It keeps getting better. Adblock is now a thing (see below) and you can set it to turn off automatically on data. You've won a happy customer. If you guys use StoryBrand for marketing, I'm definitely the customer out evangelizing. Great work! "Would LOVE if you guys could add servers with ad and tracker blocking built in. I often switch off Windscribe so I can use Blockada ad blocking. Thanks!"
Truly an amazing VPN service, So simple and direct. Easy to install. Plus, it comes with a very good firewall and ad blocker. The free service offers 15 GB / month, which is a LOT. And you can use it between devices, whether on your computer or on your phone. The paid service gives you even more locations worldwide, which is very relevant depending on what you want to watch and where you're physically based. I highly recommend Windscribe, and I've used it for 4 years with great results!
As someone who has worked with VPNs for some time now, Windscribe is pretty darn good. I'm not just talking about this app, but using on routers and other devices. I can say speed it's amongst the fastest and they have covered all the bases, including DNS protection automatically. Their set up guides and FAQs will satisfy most everyone. Can't think of any downsides at the moment. I bought a lifetime subscription last year while testing 5 other VPNs. None were better. I'm back for good.
It's good for daily use, but i had two weeks where It randomly disconnected and I couldn't figure out why. I spent a while troubleshooting and I eventually narrowed down the problem to the protocol I was using and switched to wireguard. The manual protocol setting was totally useless for me and only the "preferred protocol" setting actually did anything. It works fine now but still has minor issues, mostly just annoyed I had to really try and get it to work.
Windscribe is a great VPN app that offers a generous free plan with 10GB of data per month. It's fast most of the time, has many servers in different locations, and works on Windows, Android, and iOS. I've been using Windscribe for a few months now and I've been really happy with it. The free plan is perfect for basic browsing and streaming, and the paid plans offer even more features and benefits.
You won't find a VPN anywhere with the plethora of extra features, configurability, and ethical handling of data that Windscribe packs. I'm an app harlot, afraid of commitment and just plain cheap. But, Windscribe is more than a sidepiece, and they've made an honest man of me. I even paid. Ikr? We've been together for 5 whole years - by far, my longest relationshApp. As long as they keep puttin' out (new features), I look forward to a lifetime of copyright violations & CIA shadowboxing. ILY! <3

Literally the BEST VPN. You can turn it one with one click and off with another. There are NO ads. You can buy the premium version or even use upto 10GB per month for free. It works perfectly fine like it never stopped all of a sudden or anything. One issue i noticed is that if i change the network(in a case wifi) i am connected to after turning on the VPN, the VPN keeps showing that its working but its actually not working. I guess its common sense to not change network but just so you know.
Perfect!, have renewed for another year at a competitive price, it's on my TV, Android phone, Windows PC and Android tablet - and Windscribe have a sense of humour in their description! - have been using for a year now without any real difficulty, I had one minor problem, but service was excellent, initially AI is used for assistance, but if that cannot resolve the problem, it reverts to human contact, no real problem as long as you know, overall extremely happy, just keep the good prices.
I actually really like this app both for PC and mobile. It's the only VPN that has a ton of features while still being on the free tier (just with a 10 gb data cap per month), and you can get extra data for doing funny tweets towards them. The fact I can change my location to the US when I want to play an online game at times where in my location (brazil) there aren't many players, or due to the time, are full of extremely competitive players that don't let me breathe at all. I quite like it.
Much love from me and my family. I think the developers are dedicated to a cause rather than cashing in on other people's misery. Outstanding performance and functionality, very low minimum price. Minor issue: developer's site is partially blocked, signing in required another VPN. I suspect this could be addressed within the application. Chrome extension doesn't work here but not an issue for me. Free GB for recommendations doesn't work but I switched to subscription so also no issue.
