Just started not connecting the last month or so. I have two of these and they've been awesome for a couple years! Recently my one bulb quit connecting to the app, after disconnecting and reconnecting it multiple times, I gave up and replaced it with another one I had. That one does the same thing. I'm not sure if there was some recent update to the app but the only way I can control them is if I manually turn the lamp on first (like switch it to "off" and then back "on").
I've had two of these bulbs. they are hard to connect to the phone and worked for a while but I had one stop connecting to the app after a year and the second one has just now after a year and a half stop connecting. I tried reconnecting them doesn't work. At the price they are, they should have lasted for years. The bulb still work They just don't connect to the stupid app. I'm going to have to find a different brand. this o
Terrible app. Messy, sometimes redundant controls in different locations and methods. Unreliable light control. Barely a step up over those no-name Chinese product apps. Can't set colors and have them slowly change on a schedule. 'Automations' only allow 5 abrupt color and brightness changes. And mine randomly stopped working one day. Motion sensor can't control specific lights, only an entire single room. And can't activate a scene.
So simple it's useless. Nearly everything is hidden in a weird little menu and there appears to be no way to update connection settings for a light bulb that's already been paired. After many painful attempts sitting in a room with a pulsing light and many failures to "smart" connect, I'm deleting the app and I'll invest in a different company next time.
It's a terrible light. I try my best to connect it and it took me about 45 minutes and it's still blinks red the light is Wi-Fi based, so it really depends on your internet connection. In order for it to function , properly. And the app is not so helpful as well constantly asking me for personal info when I just want it to just function as a light
My device lost connectivity just a few days after my initial review and was not easy to reconnect so I'm adjusting my review. Hope to find a consistent high-tech light solution soon. Initial: I was unable to get my light bulb to pair for a long time. I thought, what the heck I'll download the app and try again. It finally works! And now you can preset your lightbulb to turn on or off. Good stuff.
Constant issues with it. If your power goes out, you get a new phone or new internet service, good luck. Pairing is extremely difficult and sometimes randomly your lights will require you to "re-pair", even though there wasn't a power outage. I'm going with a different setup soon after having this for 2 years and struggling the entire time.
Used to work reliably for several years, but recently disconnected my light for some reason. I updated the app, causing many of the features in the app to start saying "please update the app" and that there was an "authentication issue". It told me to log out and back in, causing me to have to re-start my account and lose all my room settings in the process. When I attempted to reconnect my light, the app recognizes it but refuses to connect and tells me to contact support, which I did. Waiting.
App is BAD. UI is cumbersome to navigate with no easy "Factory Reset" option for any smart device, and deleting and re-adding devices once paired rarely fixes anything. I have two smart bulbs that have been repaired many times but I have 0 ability to turn them on or off. "This device is offline, check the settings for more info." Find settings, bulb has 0.2 watts going to it, but no control. EDIT: Apology not accepted. Your consumers' time is valuable. Stop putting it on them to help you fix it.
Amazing app overall, but Wiz could improve on: 1. Instead of selecting light modes for Automation, it would be great to have the option to select scenes. I have multiple lights that I want in different colors and I see many users have asked for this in the reviews. Make it happen! 2. When you change WiFi routers because of malfunction, you logically have to reconnect the devices and they lose their previous preset. I wish you could replace/relink the "new" devices to the old preset!
when it doesn't crash it works great, unfortunately it seems to crash a lot. I've had it for an hour and it's crashed like 10 times. updated after a completely useless tech support did nothing but ask me the most generic questions and refuse to acknowledge the fact that the app is defective. I was willing to ignore it except the app is even worse than before and crashes every time I try to use it.
mostly ok, but it can be super weird. sometimes it doesn't turn on all of the lights in a schedule, even if it recognizes them/they're available. at least 3 days a week I turn off lights that no one turned on, and aren't part of a schedule. big weird. I wish the bulbs could create deeper and richer cool colors, but I guess that's an issue with the bulbs and not the app.
App Not Fully Functional. Even standing under the light, next to the router, you still have minimal control. It took 2 hours and a few re-installs just to get it to change to something else. Not the color I wanted, but almost close.**a year later and still randomly changes and half the settings are not available. pretty much junk. Probably get new lights and toss this one.
All 8 the lights setup in my living room started blinking uncontrollably after 3 months of working properly. I needed to re-connect the lights through the app and set everything up again. I feel like they are trying to do too much instead of making a simple, eloquent product to use. The company is trying too hard by adding the buttons, controls and setup options. Simplify the app and I'll be able to rate the lights and app higher.
After having the bulbs only a couple of months, the app now always shows the "device is offline" error message. Repeatedly turning the light off and on several will sometimes cause the app to reconnect. But I shouldn't have to do this every single time I want to turn on the light. I can't even use these like regular bulbs because they revert back to the dimmest setting when I turn them on manually. I don't know if the problem is the app or the bulbs, but I'll be going back to standards bulbs.
mostly an improvement but it appears that I cannot turn off scrolling lights in your dynamic. I like the scenes but I don't want my lights rotating. please allow the option to behave as it appears where I can turn it off. at present when I turn off animated lights they automatically turn back on 100% of the time. please give us better control of our scenes
Box the lights came in show they're WiFi and Bluetooth capable. What the box doesn't tell you is you is that you NEED BOTH to set up the lights. I don't use WiFi in my home so that F'd me. The YouTube video on their support site didn't behave / show the same screens as the app. EDIT: Used the chat support, they said the bulbs cannot be added without WiFi. Product and App still suck. Other manufacturers bulbs will add and function on Bluetooth alone.
UI for the app needs serious work. It shouldn't be hard to figure out where to add the device and whatnot. More than anything, this company false advertises their sensor as being "motion detect" which you need TWO units small printed in Amazon description. Talk about utter false advertising. I'm tempted to contact the FTC regarding the horrible marketing.
App is pretty good but could use improvement. When you create a scene for lighting, it would be nice to enter actual numbers on the dimming level, like set it to exactly 50% vs having to slide the slider bar to 50% and hope you match it on all the lights. Also, the ability to "copy" settings from 1 fixture and "paste" them into the next light you're programming. Other than that, the app itself seems to be pretty smooth so far. I also wish the lights were actually dimmable from a wall dimmer.
I swapped my whole room to Wiz bulbs a few years ago. everything was working fine until the new app was pushed. Migration never worked, bulbs wont sync with v2, so I relied on v1 for a while to still control my lights. My wifi plan actually improved. But now, neither work with the bulbs. Im not really hopeful that eventually there will be a fix for whatever this is, but I'll keep my fingers crossed a little longer before moving to another brand.
