WLKY News and Weather

A decent app most of the time, however, I turned notifications on so I could hear tornado warnings and ended up getting news alerts such as, "A married couple lost their wedding topper. You won't believe where they found it," and sports news that I care nothing about. It would be nice if I could choose the topics I am interested in following instead of their random alerts. It's so annoying and bordering on being a menace.

Feel like any app that forces you to keep your location on, and it says in the application that they will give that information to third parties, is predatory. I couldn't get severe weather alerts for my town at all because of this. You could put in a ZIP code but when trying to then activate the severe weather alerts, it wouldn't let you at all. And that's sad. It's sad because it's obvious they're selling that data. Too many ads. Sad priorities

I'm hesitant to open the app because I'm going to see and hear seven ads in a row, especially byrant heating , cooling ad. Get your ged etc. I'll bet I've seen them 600 times! Is wlky32 brainwashing their Mobile app users? Put a cap on it please. It only causes restrictive use on my part ! You can't fast forward Thur Thier same old redundant commercials. You have to watch all seven ads! If I could I would rate them a fat zero!!!!

Installed this app for the weather reports. It has a loud "alert" sound that it uses to let you know that rain, storms or other events are on the way. This is a Good Thing™ But lately it has started chiming with trivial messages that are not urgent or surprising. On one occasion it woke me up for some trivial reason. This is not a Good Thing™ Please do not mis-use this feature. If you keep doing this, I will have to find another way to check on the weather.

The music for the commercial is the reason for the 1 star. I now understand what it's like for dogs when someone blows a dog whistle. The app is just another news app I guess.

I like the app so I can stay updated on traffic and weather......but thats all i want. Can you add a filter that lets me get notifications on just the weather? Its just all bad news all the time. I would give more stars if that happened. Edit: Thanks for letting us filter our notifications.

I have notifications turned off because they are rarely relevant, yet I get notifications saying "remember us" begging to turn notifications back on. Who thought that was a good idea? Not a well organized app besides. I'm giving up on it.

Super buggy when trying to stream the news. It works great once the stream starts but you have to try several times. I don't try to stream live for that reason as I usually miss the first five minutes.

Good for up to date information but constantly refreshes itself when you don't want it to because your trying to just hit the back button and go back where you were. Because of this problem, you have to go back and search for your place on the home screen over and over again after reading an article.

This definitely needs improvement. I click on a news story from my notifications about an Afghan man arrested for a planned terrorist plot on election day expecting a video and news article on the subject only to get the news article coupled with a video on completely different topic. Very very distracting. The video should match the article. Please, do one or the other, not both.

First. Why is my location so inportant? Whether I am on Dixie Hgwy or Old LaGrange Rd. shouldnt affect the news. And More and More the "News Alert" notifications were becoming very, IMO, trivial. Example: A Golf Sporting Range Might or Might Not Continue With Original Opening Plans. At the same time, and not news alert note worthy: Shooting near Churchill Downs not reported. New review. Same problems. Constant ads. "Breaking news" is almost entirely fluff news with no bearing on what's actually going on in America. I should not be getting notifications that someone got robbed in Massachusetts. Take a peak at the media companies controlling this station, and you'll see they're entirely corporate interest and propaganda pieces. Next to no breaking news in my notifications, just garbage

I like receiving the news updates as they happen due to my work schedule. I've been watching WLKY since I was a child and my parents, sibling, my adult daughter and myself ALL watch WLKY & have the app. Thank you for all the years of accurate information.

Although the app is straight forward and easy to use, I find that CNN is used for a substantial portion of the news source and I find this VERY offensive. CNN is not a reliable news source and CNN has a reputation for twisting the news into political narratives. Therefore I do not recommend WLKY app.

I had this application. I just deleted it. Too many ads and stories not from my area. Overrun with sponsored content. I prefer wlky as a news, but their app sucks.

I love this app they always send me an email at 5:30 every morning about the weather I love it but here lately for the past 2 weeks I haven't been able to get it just wondered why but otherwise I think WLKY news is awesome hope you choose to use it

There is no justifiable reason to require location permission in order for the app to open. In this world of continuous new security issues, you've gotta do better CBS.

Very informative local & national news , and weather⛅too. Thanks WLKY for a great app. Suggestion : Would be a nice feature if you would include the month / day / year for the record highs &. Lows. 👍

I just want to see a breakdown of the weather for the day/week in a chart form and current radar. I am not interested in a written out script.
