Word City: Connect Word Game

Poor knock off of Wordscapes, lots more ads and a little buggy - slow, ads sometimes don't register as being watched, swipe a word and it looks like it accepted it but it didn't, I've spent minutes trying to figure out a word that I've already tried a couple times but apparently it didn't accept it even though it looks like it did.

First, I purchased the 1+2 for the coins and the 6.99 deal to get a lot of hammers and hints. I didn't receive it. I had also purchased the ad free so I could go to a different level without viewing an ad. Second, the game updated and lost all my stuff. I no longer have any items and the ad free purchase. I'm also back to level 1. Please fix this. I have message you many times and nothing has been done.

I found this game through Tapjoy and thought it was going to be a nice word game, which it was at first. I like how not only are we searching for words but we're also receiving facts about each place we visit. However, this game became insufferable and almost impossible to continue playing without an ad that impedes your progress after EVERY level. Not only that but there are consistent pop-ups persistent for your purchase, which I completely refuse.

Some of the definitions are a little off the mark. The one for "wench" completely missed the ship. "A black woman" .....really????? Recent problems: Have to open and close and close the game a few times to get the puzzles to show up. Also, I don't know what is going on lately. Letters are all scattered and do not make a word in the correct direction. I was also unable to do the daily puzzle. I usually like the game otherwise.

My number one issue is the ads. They are absolutely ATROCIOUS. An ad after EVERY level. Literally. It's ridiculous. Half the time, the ads go to the play store INSIDE the game and I have to close and reopen it. Also, a lot of the words are not real or even known by most people. I like the look of the game and the atmosphere/facts that are offered--but the constant ads and micro-transaction popups make the game intolerable for me.

The game works fine... for the few levels I did. After a few levels, there was a 30 second ad after each level, and there was no way to opt out of watching the entire ad. Between levels 7 and 9 I had watched two minutes of ads, but had less than 30 seconds of game time. I even started playing via a money making app, but frankly if there are this many ads already, I'm not interested in playing, even for money.

It would be a lot of fun if not for the CONSTANT ads after EVERY SINGLE LEVEL. The only way to remove them is a subscription. I would consider a 1 time purchase to remove ads if it was small, but NEVER a subscription. And the worst part is that every attempt to close the ads results in being taken to download the app in the ad, and when you back out, you have to reboot the game entirely!

Fun, with exceptions. Not sure why, but at a certain point it gives me the option to watch an ad to get coins. After tapping the ad, no video and stays on that opening screen. I'm forced to choose the lower coin option. Maybe the devs cut it off at a certain coin count. Don't know, but it's very annoying and underhanded. Having said that, it is a fun game.

Game is fun and keeps your mind active. What are not fun are the ads after EVERY level. Seriously? EVERY level? Took me 15 min to do levels 12-19 just bc of the ads. It screws up my train of thought and makes me dislike the game. I get you need ads. But not like this. And I'm not paying to remove them. Seems like that's EXACTLY what you want to happen. Nope. I'm done.

I very much like this game except... I'm on level 270, and I noticed that some words I guessed went into the extra words storage, but then I'll guess the same word, and all of a sudden, it's on the board???!! That is bothersome for me because then I think I'm losing my mind. There should also be more personalized settings or tiles. Keeps it unique and fun.

Wonderful!! I expected the normal word connect but was pleasantly surprised to play a much nicer, cleaner, more fun version. Even the little lilt between levels is nice. Levels go fast, nice extras. Just overall greatness. The only thing that would make it even better is the ability to use the parachutes when you want to, instead of automatically using them when you get them. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed!

Game aspects are fine, just like most of these same games. I purchased the pop up promo to remove ads for $2.99, so no complaints there. I'm playing this through TapJoy so I'll make the money back and then some. But there is some sort of competition going on and I cannot access the standings. When I click on the "cup" I get nothing even though I am in second place, apparently.

Reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5. This is a great word game but the further I got the smaller the puzzles have gotten. The size plus the light colors on top of each other makes it really hard for me to see. I actually have used a magnifying glass on the last few puzzles and would prefer not to do that. If I can't enlarge the puzzles I'm going to delete the game. Let me say though that I love the game and the facts about the different countries and cities are very interesting.

Ads after every level is crazy. Maybe after every 3-5 would make sense. Or just after a certain amount of time in between levels. It takes me about 30 seconds to finish a level and sometimes the ad is longer than me doing the level! So I'm just watching ads with a game in the middle. Also... What the heck are the coins for? There's nowhere to use them or buy power ups with them. Why would I watch ads for a thing that doesn't matter in the game?

I had to watch an add to leave this review. I had to watch an ad to close the page. Had to watch 2 just to open the app. Then 2 after every puzzle. I really hope the people that you're advertising for are paying you alot to be this ANNOYING. Its having an adverse affect. I actually write down the companies that flood me with Ada and make it a point NOT to buy their products. There's a fine line between advertising and ANNOYANCE. And you've decimated that line and left it 10 miles in the rearview

Hard to see the blocks if you have color blindness. I have to guess where the blocks are and that takes forever to finish a game. I like it otherwise. It's a simple fix, outline the boxes or give us a dark option. Edit: took away a star because you obviously let bots answer your reviews. I can't see how long the words are because your background is the same color (to me) as the squares for the length of the word. I'm sure there are others that would agree with me.

when I got the app to load I enjoyed playing I wish I could give more stars for this review but it takes a crazy amount of time to load and play, I don't like that I loose interest then. I can't watch videos, they don't load to earn extra coins,the screen just remains dark. I've achieved 110 levels and now I can't play at all! The app doesn't work period! waste of time.

So many ads that it is impossible to stay focused on the game. Update- I did not realize there was a pay version available without ads. I feel like 5.99 is too much for this app, though. I would probably pay 1.99 and no more than 2.99 for ad removal. To be fair, my review is based on playing the game for 15 minutes. I stopped due to all the ad interruptions. The game itself is fun. I just don't have the patience to stop playing and watch an ad after every puzzle.

I un-installed the game, there's too many issues. I paid to remove the ads, and couldn't play the game for about one to two weeks. When logging onto the game, I got a background screen showing my coins and diamond balance. I tried to chat with the bot, but it wanted me to "...take a screenshot for each offer, showing your current in-game level and send it through a direct reply to this thread..." I'd already sent that... twice. When I was finally able to update, I received ads. I'm done.

The game is very engaging and I would highly reccomend this game! I did give it four stars because of the most annoying thing on android. When you have ads, they force you to close the app and try to download it. It is very annoying because it take up a lot of time. If you guys have a way to fix this problem, I would appreciate it and I will bump my review to 5 stars! Thank you. Alex.
