Word Cookie used to be good. in a few clicks you could be playing the game you want. Then they started adding a bunch of fluff that you have no choice but to click on. Now it must be about 25 clicks on useless claims for prizes, ads to upgrade, weekly prizes, daily prizes, etc, etc and it just got too frustrating to play. I am now uninstalling.

I've been playing this game for many years and have enjoyed it thoroughly. However, the recent upgrade is disheartening. You have added way too many options and distractions and have made it too difficult to just 'simply' open the game and play. It's frustrating and takes away from the real joy of this game. Also, a big change is the root word; All of a sudden, you've thrown in 'an extra' letter that isn't in the main word, and not every time, so that's aggravated as well.

Update: I just can't play anymore with the length of commercials. I quit. The game is good, but ads too long. All the best to the team Update: started playing regularly again. Fewer commercials, far more enjoyable. well thought out app, challenging, and they keep it up to date! kudos to the team! Update: finally quit playing. Commercials are too long. Bye. While comercials are too frequent, too long, too boring, and makes me want to quit playing, I do enjoy this game.

great game. just not sure why the "costs" of hints went up recently (from 25 to 100 for hint, 75 to 300 for picks, etc), when daily rewards stayed the same. when I need help (which is a good sign the game is challenging) it puts me in the hole and it's not fun anymore. need more frequent opportunites to earn coins during a level. 🤷

Just let me play the game! I would prefer ads to what they do now. There are times I open the app and need to click 18 times on something just to get to playing the game, no exaggeration. All of these clicks are to claim wonderful candy and cards and prizes and coins I won the day before, or to decline to purchase add ons. the majority of the clicks are followed by a 2-5 second delay. it's completely ridiculous. I've stopped playing. the game itself is great once you get to it.

Easy to play, and for the most part, it works well. They have eliminated most ads - I only have to watch ads to receive rewards. They also seem to have corrected spellings to the US version (color instead of colour) The events are nice time killers. Formerly, you could pull up the word list after finishing a level and check definitions. You can still check during the level, but there's no word list after.

Decent game, but has some issues. For instance, most of today there's been a "No Internet Connection" warning posted all over the game.... when trying to check the leader board, when joining and/or viewing teams, etc. When I know I have a strong reliable internet connection, this is obviously some flaw on the developer side of things. Makes it frustrating, especially when you're like an hour away from the end of your race for first place and not being able to view the leader boards!!

Love this game! It's addictive and a good way to keep your mind sharp. Sometimes the words are obscure, which makes it more challenging but overall, it's fun. Developers, please do something about the full piggy bank. Give an option to buy or remove. It's been full for a year now, not buying it. Also, if all the letters for the weekly challenge don't come up for a whole level of games, what's the point? Ambitious, but pointless.

I started playing this in 2018. I paid to remove ads and have been playing it ever since as a way to help me sleep. That's not to say it isn't fun; it helps my anxious brain focus on something somewhat low effort. The number of ads was ridiculous but cost for ad free was a couple bucks. I've even synced the data between phones. But there are so many pushes to buy coins and it's so annoying. I have 4,000. I don't need any and consider those pop-ups "ads" too and wish I could turn it off.

Updating this review to say that I removed Word Cookies entirely because they use ads in other apps that auto-open it on your phone. Fricking creepy, no matter how good the game is. Really fun game but WAYY too many ads. If you click off to check a text or do anything, watch an ad. finish any level, watch an ad. it's obscene. I also don't like the way some words count as valid extras in some levels but the same words are just "wrong" in other levels. Be consistent!

I used it as a stand alone word game app for years. Now it blocks all use unless I register for a "Bakers Cup" that appears to be a competition. I'm not interested in that, don't want to register for anything, and may be forced to uninstall the app if it continues to be unusable. Addendum: The issue was addressed quickly and efficiently and I changed my rating to 5 stars.

The ads are ridiculous. Opened the game and I had to click through no less than 5 offers in the game itself before getting to a puzzle. I solved 1 word to end that puzzle and them immediately got sent to an ad. So I clicked through 3 minutes of in game ads and offers, played the game for 30 seconds, and then a 3rd party ad began. Nope. Not doing it. Close game. Uninstall game. Write review to let everyone know how terrible this is.

UPDATE: I can put up with the added pop-ups to get more money. But it no longer can use a split screen & that I liked using.(minus ⭐) Great little game to exercise your brain but it has issues. There are a few misspelled words, some words not included & many esoteric ones. I.e. "Rime- ice crystals forming a white deposit". It also doesn't work "Online". Good luck. It forces you to think and doesn't force you to pay. Unfortunately, support is nonexistent too. A good way to mess up a good game.

Of the games of this type, I find this one most enjoyable. It's got little quests and stuff you can do on the side but you don't have to do them. It's decent difficulty, and even though some of the puzzles kind of repeat with letters, there's enough a variety that you don't really notice it. I tend to play this at night before bed or on my breaks at work. Limited ads that you can disable very easily. My only complaint is lack of some common words and their use of some obscure words instead.

This is my go to app when I am waiting on anything. No glitches and very very little ads popping up on you. You can purchase if you want to and it is very inexpensive. The most I ever spent was maybe 5.99 and it lasted a long time. I am not a professional speller so I use the hints I have purchased. I like to think it keeps my brain sharp. I would recommend this app. I have never had a problem with this app. Ya I said never. If I could give more stars I would!

The cost of a regular hint has gone from 25 points to 100 and for the wand hints from 100 to 300 points. The other hint went from 5D points to 200 points. This is ridiculous and greed at its best. Also, I can no longer play this game in split screen view . The option to play against another player is no.loner there. Nor dobI have the option to save my progress and play on a different device. Whoever updated thus game has taken away the fun of playing which I did daily. Let's boycott!

A fun and relaxing game to play. Really gets you thinking on what the words could be to fit inside the square. One downside is the game freezing up sometime when playing. Other is when using the different special moves, to give you boost in finding the words. At times they aren't always working when you need them to. Should be more free items or bonus to help out when stuck on a word.

A few things would make this game even better: I paid to have the ads gone, but it didn't work. I've breezed through everything they've given me! Easy and fun game! One update they did add was, if you submit a word they aren't looking for, it goes in the dog's cookie jar and you earn points for it! But please keep adding categories and words! I want to keep playing! Updating again in 2019. Kudos for putting the word list in alphabetical order!! Now please get rid of the ads I paid to remove!!

An ok word game with a few downsides. Payouts for the oven daily game are really low. If you don't finish it the first time, do not use coins to continue. You will lose coins that way. All in all, the amount of coins you can earn is way lower then the cost of the hints. Used to have higher coin payouys, but that changed a while ago. There are lots of other word games out there just like this one to check out.

It's fun at first, then come the ads...not worth the time watching ad after ad after ad. Just bombarded with ads after every level. Don't waste your time with this game. They clearly don't care about their customers. They just want the ad revenue. U had me. U lost me. Update: there is way. To. Many. Ads. Period. Not sure what else u need. The game was basically UNPLAYABLE. I'm can't do more than a few actions in the game without an ad popping up. Not cool. Lower the threshold. By Alot!
