WTNH News 8

Feedback on FireTV stick app. If WTNH is watched in the morning, then closed and another app opened and watched, then paused and the TV goes to sleep, when played again, WTNH audio will play over all apps, even if you return to Home and start an app fresh. The opened app will play video and audio, and WTNH audio will play simultaneously. The only way to make it stop is to power the TV off, and sometimes even that has to be done more than once.

The news from WTNH is exceptionally well prepared and presented. The overall app experience is very good with ads kept to a minimum. BUT. Sometimes, a push news notification can't open because of glitches in pushing an ad first. The app just hangs and you can't close out of it. Most annoying. AND I don't know how they have the weather alerts coded, but no matter where I am or where I set my location for weather, I get incorrect "rain starting" and "lightning strike" notifications.

Poor content delivery. Latest articles are sorted not by time of publication, but by some other metric which makes the whole list seem shuffled. Reading articles is not enjoyable; four fifths of the screen displays content completely unrelated to the article, like the livestream preview or inserted advertising. Notifications are timely and work as intended.

Still a horrible app. Black overlay and cant click on anything. Loads of ads, stories don't open

the live tv option shows live stream from KTLA in California. I live in Connecticut. This app is nothing short of advertisement bait.

UPDATE: This App no longer opens, so I've uninstalled it. I used to love WTNH, and have had the App since its inception. But it hasn't been consistently functional, which is hugely disappointing. I even just now reinstalled, but again, all I get when I open is the 8 logo, no content. Uninstalled, again. And don't waste your time trying to contact the developer: the email comes back undeliverable.

This update sucks... I wish you guys would have kept the older version..it was more reliable and worked 100x better.. So many commercials now and no one cares about videos.. The older version was just perfect to see what's happening around in your local towns and all the important news and info was available at your fingertips.. Now everything is filled with stupid videos and commercials.. Please bring back the older version of the app that everyone used to enjoy!!!

4/15/22: Tried it again, and it's no better. Fewer ads more, but I can never find stories that I just watched on TV where they say "go to the app for more info". Yesterday was a story on cherry blossoms in NH. Searched "cherry blossoms" and find stories from 3 and 7 years ago. 5/5/20: WAY too many ads, many of which look like news stories. For some reason the search capability doesn't work. Nothing here I can't get from the website, where the ads are less intrusive and the search feature works.

This app was perfect back in 2018 but the updates they've made have ruined the live stream functionality. It either cuts out and stops mid stream or doesn't ever start the stream even though it's in the middle of the broadcast time. Now it's hit or miss as to whether I catch the news in the morning anymore since the main reason I use live streaming is that I'm not able to be in front of my TV at that time in the mornings. I need my Gil fix! Please work out these bugs!!!

PLEASE tell the meteorologist to TURN UP THEIR MICS in the videos. Everytime I go to watch a video Incan barely hear it with the audio turned all the way up. Very annoying. Also can you please make it so that it can run in the background. If gou navigate away from the app and come back it always reloads. Also Annoying

It was a good app, but now I can't watch live news. I already couldn't hear it because the sound was horrible. Same with live stream, and it takes to long to load. Please fix. Hit and miss with notifications. Happen every time the app gets updated. 4/19 app was just updated still can't watch live news. Why do I have to wait to watch live news 2 hours later. Do You guys know what your even doing?

Beyond useless! Why would you remove the watch live options. I clicked on the weather report that was updated an hour ago, and the video played the weather for the week of Christmas. It's 01/16/2023. This wtnh app gets worse and worse with each update. App has been uninstalled as it has no purpose if it can't even play todays weather report. The video player is awful. Please bring back the Live News Videos.

Worst news app I have ever had. I gave this a second chance when I got a new phone thinking perhaps it was just outdated but again disappointed.. it rarely loads when I want. Have to constantly reboot to get it to work. Uninstaller again and will not use again. There are other local news apps that work much better.

After update it won't let you see the weather, force closes and towers you out. Any alert you send me, when clicked on, takes me to site but NOT to alert at all. Making me mad. Only reason i keep it is because the other news apps are just as bad.

Can't look at the weather section of the application without the application force closing. Application no longer works. Lots of pages won't load and application closes. Tried contacting WTNH via email to let them know of the issue and email was blocked.

App Crash - On my Android device, clicking the icon for Weather forces the app to close. On iOS, the app is just not functional, it is stuck on the loading screen and cannot move screen/click anything. Appears almost like an ad pop-up with a transparent setup is overlaying the screen and cannot close or get through it.

Constant glitches, fail to load, abruptly shuts down, so many ads it's unwatchable, constant spelling errors and incorrect information. Basically useless

I really like the content and the delivery of the news, weather and sports.

This app does not seem to work with My Location. It will search for my location without loading my location. The only way it works is if you add a every location you use, meaning you have to delete it afterward.
