It seemed to be working fine for three days until the app changed its format to black. My added feeds have once again disappeared. I followed BR's instructions on how to fix it, and it didn't resolve the issue. Help! I'm about done with the Yahoo News app entirely! Everytime the app logs me out, it deletes ALL of my added feeds (like Tech, Opinion, Weather, Celebrity, etc.). It's so frustrating to have to add them back every single time I log back into the app.
Why is it that you folks can't have a story on just one page? Instead, I'm reading a story, and I get to a point and it says NEXT. What's up with that? So I read down to another point and it says NEXT again! Sometimes this goes on for 15 pages! The reason why? Too many adds in your content! Adds equal viruses that can get infected into my devices. So, either drop the adds, or I'll drop you.
there is a big improvement over stability with the app; however, it'd be nice if several issues were addressed. first, it'd be nice if comments i made wouldn't disappear from the stream several hours after making them. i am able to see my reactions and likes to others comments, but at some point my replies disappear. second, when reviewing comment history, if you click on the comment it sometimes opens. when it does, you cannot navigate beyond that comment. at that point it's useless.
I love the summarize feature onIy on some sites. I like how the recommendations are trainable and if it's like Artifact, it takes a month for good suggestions. the only thing I really hate is the reading streak notifications. It's impossible to silence or disable. It's useless, disturbing, and made me stop using the app. Another annoyance is the articles don't link to the original source which makes saving them to Reader difficult.
Worst app I've ever used. it won't stay logged in for more than 5 minutes and you have log out and log in again. Comment section almost never works unless you uninstall and install again every 15 minutes. I've had this app for two days and this is my 10th time reinstalling it.
I subtracted 2 stars because they have levels you can make after reading and I make sage almost. Then they demote me for no reason and I have to start again. This has happened to me multiple times. It's very frustrating. Other than that I use this app a lot I like the multiple sources.
The app does not seem to have a way to sort by most recent. Whenever I open the app the vast majority of articles are days old, some as old as five days. I often just close it without reading anything because of this, and go to another app where I can actually read what's happening today.
It keeps freezing. I constantly have to go back and reload the same article over and over again, only making max a third of the way down. It's a shame because there are many articles that I would really like to read. I guess I'll just stick to Google News. (FYI, I am using a new Galaxy S25+ phone.)
this app is great. You can see news articles you don't normally see on Google News and Newsbreak. this app and those two are the news apps I go to when I look for articles I like. You can even log into your yahoo account or any other account to save your likes, interests and search history of articles.
can't log in.. I get this: {"error":{"localizedMessage":"not found","errorId":"NOT_FOUND","message":"not found"}} edit: turns out it has something to do with Firefox compatibility. The app uses your default browser for sign in. If I use MS Edge as default, I can sign in...please fix this issue with Firefox. one other thing.. where are the gifs for comments like website? gifs are fun. now that I got it working.. frequently get "whoops can not post comments right now" Still better to use website
The app does a great job of giving news that I am interested in but I can't comment on anything. Every time I try, it just spins and does nothing. Edit: I cleared the data and signed back in and now it's working.
Garbage app that doesn't even let you scroll through an article while you're reading through it without freezing and having to leave the article or close the app. Absolute garbage.
I've found Yahoo news to be expansive in uts coverage as well as thorough in conveying the important points. I love the optional "key takeaways " option when I'm looking for the broader picture.
This app always freezes and locks up. It's rare that I can use it for long before it stops working. One of the worst apps I have ever used.
Okay aggregation with good sources, but terrible in terms of getting current news. Regularly my feed is full of articles around a week to two weeks old without any way to filter by date or remove these outdated articles. Predictions about Davos speeches after they have been made or Betting odds for a game that happened three days ago, etc etc
jus' a pesky bug in the inbox...after total clearing...it still reflects the # of emails just cleared...Until new mail zooms in there..is cleared...then zero...awkward at best ..see what ya' can do .😉👋
does anyone Proofread BEFORE posting? Not Yahoo News. oh no, if you have Zero journalistic or writing abiliy, Yahoo News is THE PLACE for you! here you will find clickbait and advertisements with sprinklings of repeated sentences, filler words and an embarrassing LACK of actual substance. is it written by AI? no... if it was, there'd at least be the semblence of a thoughfully written article. no no no, yahoo news doesnt waste time vetting anyone reputable, with education, nor experience.
once again, an upgrade w new bugs and slower performance.
2015: When replying to comments, my comments end up under other posts. It's ridiculous and then the app has no way to edit my posts, such as deleting it. I have to wait until I'm on a computer to go into my activity to delete. Fix this and I'll give you a higher rating. *Well here it is 2025 and I cannot make comments at all. I've uninstalled this app and reinstalled it, it's up to date with the updates and still I can't comment. FIX THIS ISSUE!!!*
App now freezes in stories. Have to exit the story and com back to it. Freezes again after re-entering the story. Back and forth until I get to read a whole article. Still here because they have great content.
