I ordered the annual pass through the app. It was important to do this ahead of time (before arriving at any park) where I had a good internet connection. Often at the parks the connection is so spotty it is hard to check in or get the app to do anything. I have since learned to open the "wallet" on my phone before arriving at the park and then hit the "check in" button when I get there.

Seems that since my first review, they've gotten their stuff together with this app a bit! It is still glitchy in some areas but overall it does function properly even in areas with limited cell coverage. The reason I knocked off one star is because I have to log into the app every time I open it, and it doesn't tell me to log in until I go to buy a pass. Then once I log in I have to start the search process all over again. If it would just keep me logged in that would eliminate the problem.

You can't input credit card info, so you can't pay for parking. Once you input your card details you can't select "done" because its greyed out. Nothing happens. 100% useless app. We had to chose between not going to the beach today or getting a $72 ticket. We rolled the dice and didn't get ticketed. Yet another epic cluster by the idiots running the State of California. Pivot to a new payment method without doing sufficient user testing. They also could have read these reviews.

First time using the app so I chose hourly and selected 3 hours. Seemed expensive so I decided to change to full day but the price tripled because it kept the 3 hours I selected and calculated based on 3 one day passes. You shouldn't have to cancel or exit the location for settings to reset especially if it allows you to change your selection from hourly to day. Plus the number of hours selected was no longer available to edit since I was on the one day pass selection.

Absolutely abysmal parking app. Even when the app is working, the process of buying a pass is far and away the most tedious and unintuitive parking process I've encountered. Having to download an app and make an account just to pay for parking is already unacceptable, but Yodel's awful UI and excessive requirements only exacerbates the headache. PLEASE just let me pay by kiosk, or switch to a digital parking service that actually works like Passport. I almost left the lot thanks to this.

Requires precise location at all times... for a parking pass app. Glitchy and hard to use, not intuitive at all. Offers no option to print anything at all. "useful" apps like these are what make me want to throw my phone in the trash and go pay at the parking attendant like a human being. Do better or remove your spyware that you use to sell innocent peoples geolocation data.

Really not a great experience so far. I failed to connect my account to the app last year, so I just printed my pass. Reading the reviews, the dev team says you can use your license plate to verify. I just tried for my 2023 pass and it tells me "Could not link to your account. Please check and try again later". Waste of time. Just print your pass and keep it laminated in your car.

I had problems the first time I used the Yodel App. For some reason my payment would not go through. The second time I used the app, on an entirely different day, it worked as far as purchasing a pass, but the pass disappeared from my wallet leaving me with no record of my purchase.

Entered all my info after installing app, but nothing was there when I looked later. Much rather pay park fees with cash, especially since the parking lot I went to had no cell reception and I had to go back to ranger station to pay with cash anyway! I uninstalled the app, have no intention to install it again. CASH IS KING!

The fact I have to make an account to buy a DCR pass, then download and make an account on this app is unacceptable. Once your logged in you can't even save or print the pass to display it in the window because they use a QR code & it changes with the time so now I have to keep an app I don't want on my phone. Shame on DCR for transitioning to this method. I usually go hiking 10-20 times a month so I've always bought a annual parks pass but next year I'll probably skip the pass & park nearby.

Seems promising and easy to use, but on a google pix phone, after entering all the account info, the final screen doesn't allow the completion of the purchase - there is some other button to be pushed but it seems to be off the edge of the screen and it doesn't swipe down. Perhaps some sort of integration problem that needs to be sorted out. Looking forward to using the app when it's resolved.

This app is utter garbage! I have had a number of problems with it. 1st the app would crash on startup on average one in six tries reinstalling the app and even factory resetting the phone did not help with this. 2nd Everytime i would try to set up my profile the app it would crash. 3rd: Its was showing my location as if i was in a different state even after reinstalling the app and making sure location permissions were on. 4th: When i tried to use the search function the app would crash.

There appears to no way to remove a payment method or delete an account. There is no obvious help desk or contact feature one might use to reach out to the support team to ask about these things. I needed to use Yodel once and now I'm stuck on there forever. Edit: I've logged out to see if there is a help link during the log out flow but no, no support. Now I can't log back into my account as the OTP will not send to my mobile number.

Crashed my wife's pixel 6a and my pixel 7a shortly after install. In the short time the app was working before the crash it couldn't find the state park we're in, and many other parks were also obviously missing from the app. Took multiple hard reboots to get to the point where I could uninstall the app from each phone. Guess we're not having a campfire tonight since I can't pay for the firewood. This is not up to the usual high standards of MN state parks. Very disappointing.

App doesn't seem to work on a Pixel phone. My phone froze and I wasn't able to use any other apps or messaging services. I had to restart my phone, delete the app, and restart again for my phone to function normally. Not sure what the problem is.

It took a little bit to learn how to use the app but now it seems to work well. Had an issue with vehicle usage for a season pass but the Yodal team were helpful and resolved quickly.

Couldn't use the one time pay feature at the park. Got error messages even though I had internet connectivity. Paid for an annual pass this morning. But overall, this app is not even near good enough to call adequate.

This app is horrid. The interface feels like it isnt finished, it double charges randomly with no way to contact anyone to fix it, it does not allow you to edit your contact information. Go back to employing high school kids to take the money at the lot.

Seriously, how is this app recommended by state parks? After reading the reviews I thought to myself "there is no way its that bad" But it is. It crashed around 20 times trying to load information. It was an absolute nightmare using this. Save yourself the headach and just carry cash for your park fees.

The app constantly crashes when you try to do anything other than pay for a pass. You can't even check if your pass is active because the app just crashes. I just paid and checked my bank account to see it go through.
