Yolla: International Calling

Currently in Thailand and they same thing happened in Malaysia. Anytime I switch wifi or esim data service the connection does not go through 95% of the time. This has been going on for 3 months I continually get the response " We have informed our technicians they are aware of the issue and they are working on it" I have been able to have about 7 phone calls in 3 months of service.

I'm updating my review 1 year later. I tried this app one more time, especially because the money I have in the account hasn't been released to me back yet, and its still super annoying and a terrible, horrible, and super ineffective app. Whoever created this needs their licenses or whatever permits they have to make apps stripped. Still wont connect calls, hangs up in the middle, and no audio issues. Same old stuff. Stay away from it and save your money!!!!

Works well when it works, but after a couple months, it took a Very long time to connect and sometimes wouldn't at all. Contacted cs and they told me to clear my cache and data. I did that and lost my balance, although it started working again. I asked for reimbursement and was ignored. After 3 calls the problem started again and they told me to clear the cache and data again, then said to reinstall the app. I asked for a guarantee they'd refund my balance and my question was again ignored.

Beware: The app's dial-up doesn't work during calls. I needed to call a customer service abroad. During the call, I was asked to enter a number for different departments. Unfortunately, when I pressed the number, nothing happened. It seems that the app has limitations as once the call is connected, the dial-up stops working. I kept pressing "1" to speak to a department but it wouldn't go through and I wasted my money buying credits for the call.

No touch tones so can't use it to sort things out that require you to navigate a menu by touching a number on the pad. If there is a place for settings in the app I have not found it. Sound quality varies during the call. Often sounds like I'm talking from the bottom of a barrel. Does give the people I'm talking to a sort of a Donald duck voice every once in awhile too. Almost as good as Skype was 20 years ago. More expensive for text. Text to US cost the same as a 15-minute call.

the worst app I used. every call I made couldn't hear the other side and the credit were rolling down. I still could not use this app due to this situation. I reinstalled it, change my internet connection and even so, I couldn't hear anything. extremely frustrating when you are trying to resolve an urgent international issue. disappointed that Skype no longer exists.

Far, far too expensive. Google voice's rates are more than 10 times cheaper. It also hung up on me in middle of a phonecall (where I was waiting on hold for 20 minutes just to get to the person) because I ran out of funds, without notifying me at all or allowing me to buy more minutes while on the call. Do not recommend at all. Save yourself the money and trouble.

app is garbage. It works maybe 10% of time. I just chatted with "support", first a chatbot, then some guy who quickly says "I've flagged your issue for support, it may take a while, but they'll get back to you". Absolutely non-fuctional most of the time. when it does work the calls drop (A lot) amd no customer service at all.

Despite the good calls quality, the customer service operation can be better. You report about two issues, get response to the first issue, asked for clarification about the second issue, provide clarification and instead of getting response to your clarification you get a general question if they can help you in something else. Of course you can, with the second issue I provided additional details for it. This is exactly what you get when use outsoursing company for your customer care.

It barely ever works properly, it will not allow you to send an SMS message unless the contact is previously added to an outside contact list. Very poorly designed, I think if they had an adult involved in the design process it would be a much better app. Don't aggravate yourself by using this app.

the app worked fine, I was able to make calls in good quality but then it stopped making calls even though I had $7.57USD balance left. clearly stated on the screen. everytime i would try to make a call it said 'low balance'. That didn't make any sense it costs $0.01 per minute to call USA. so I contacted support where it states 'a teammate would respond in under a 1min and 4 hours later no response'. The app scammed me. (changed review after they fixed the issue and apologized to me)

Decent app. But currently not fully compatible for full features.i.e. Account verification. Under Apple & android phone. Also Microsoft mailboxes not compatible. According yolla customer services.

Yolla has been a dial away to any destination. It is relatively cheap and convenient although it is occasionally affected by elements of the weather, it has proven to be one of the best.

This app is a scam, they took 3 payments off my credit card and continued to say payment failed. DO NOT ENTER YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER TO THIS APP. Their support agent told me to enter another credit card number when I told them they had charged me 12$ and nothing was in the credits to call. They are thieves, and I'm guessing the good reviews are just bots.

sometimes the app works first time. when it works it's generally very good. A lot of the times however, sometimes days on end, it gives a not very helpful message about "routing problems". That is pretty frustrating. For that reason I cannot give it a higher rating. It simply suffers from not being reliable, without an apparent "real" reason. UPDATE: After contacting a very helpful support person he got tech support involved and they resolved the issue within 12 hours. Thank you!!!

I've been using this app for the last four years, and I didn't have any issues with depositing money until today. I have made a payment via Google Pay, like I've always done in the past. Unfortunately, my yolla account hasn't been credited. I simply got a notification saying, "Your account will be credited soon.". I've been waiting for over an hour. I got urgent calls to make. Customer service seems not to care at all as there's no reply to my complaint

I've not given Yolla 5 stars because now it's very non-intuitive to use where it used to be obvious. Once you've figured out how to use it, it's excellent. I'm still struggling after contacting 'Help'. I can enter a number but it's not dialling! Why any software company changes something which was easy to use beats me.

The call is clear with a good network. The time calculation is wrong. I had 9:46 minutes left after my last call, but the system showed 7 minutes left on the next call

The cross platform support is great for iOS and Android, and also supports Apple Pay and Google Pay! However, it will be perfect if it supports dark mode in Android, can I expect it in the next update?

call doesn't work, support not useful, refund not fast .. Not Recommended Edit: from 1 star to 2 stars because refund was executed in 2 days, which is okay I would say. Apart from that, not recommended.
