visiting London. Had to download/install app, go thru a long registration (including registering on the pub wifi), only to find that the United States was not on the list of country #s. We did try Puerto Rico and US Virgin Islands, but no go. thank goodness we were with someone who lived in London and used their account.
I just wanted to order some chips to the table, 15 minutes of singing up to shite after having scanned the barcode on the table, even you asking me where I am, given I've scanned rhe barcode , why didnt you already know exactly where I was !!! . appalling experience
Most annoying pub ordering app in the UK. please someone at Young's get the Wetherspoons apps and copy it
Great service once managed to order drinks at the Betjeman Arms but the app takes far too long to sign up for etc.
Worst pub app ever! You can't order at the bar, they make you download the app. Of course the pub doesn't have signal, so you have to use their WiFi - which needs laborious registration. Then the app makes you register - You can't check out as a guest. Once past the million screens it takes to order, you have to try and pay. It wouldn't let me pay by Google pay - some error - and it wouldn't let me register a card - some other error. Just do waiter service with a pad and pen! Truly awful.
Beyond useless. Been trying to get registered for a week now. I enter my number, go to continue and it says the account is already waiting to be activated (probably from my previous attempts!). I tell it to send the code again and it just says "oops" with no meaningful error message and no way to do anything about it! Looking at other reviews, this has been a problem for over 3 years now!
Update 13/07/2022 - this is is still horrendous. Log in don't work It then tells you that you need to add the age to order (which I'm ok with), but after its entered, the app restarted, it still doesn't let you place orders. I can say if the ordering process improved, as I didn't even get to it. It's a reason not to come to his pub anymore. horrible interface, payment is buggy. requires your location and your life story to be installed
Complete waste of A LOT of time. I spent about 15 minutes downloading the app, filling in my details, adding a payment method and agreeing to terms. Finally got to the "order from table" tab, only to be told they're not taking orders via the app. Why advertise it on the darn tables if it doesn't work. Thankfully my partner was in the queue so we didn't spend 15 minutes trying this useless app and then have to join the back of the queue
it's unfair to give 0 marks (as it works. and it does what it says in the tin) and i was on the fence about 2 or 3 stars. However, it's a faff to set up, get your code, figure out how to select a bar. What's also annoying af is this is another app that I'll barely use but yet I have to sign up and give all my details to get an account just to order something.
Forcing costumers to download an app to order food is really dumb. On top of that, you are also forcing them to provide their details (name, last name, email AND phone number). I was about to get up and leave, stayed only because I was quite hungry but I doubt I'll visit again. Obviously uninstalled as soon as I got up the table. There are better ways of doing online ordering that don't require so much effort from your customers, my advise is too look into other restaurants do that!
Awful app that take ages to setup to get a simple beer! Together with unwelcoming staff I gave up and moved to another pub. I also requested to delete my account and uninstalled this app. Not interested in coming back to this pub chain. Overall I agree with the comment that every place requires a new app to place an order, none accepting PayPal as payment so that you need to go through a long registration and payment process. Not to mention if you don't have coverage to add to the experience.
misleading "summer set"deal. It is a starter + main deal but the set mains are vastly inferior to the visible menu mains and so one is given a very false impression of the value of the £18 "deal" Having once got here and gone through the trouble of registering on the app one is trapped into ordering something, in my case the cheapest item on the menu. Had it been clear what the "set menu" consisted of, when looking at the menu and board outside the pub; there would have been no deception. Bad!
I wish there was a minus score. Full disclosure: I'm not a fan of ordering with my phone. But to download an app, create an account, and then find the menu doesn't match what's on offer in the pub highlights the inefficiency of the process. When I have to pay for a bottle of wine to find out what they actually have, and then request a refund, in theory, because what was offered existed on neither the app nor physical menu, is a testament to how little this company values thier customers
Wanted to order my food quickly, I did not want to wait for an app to download, have to sign up, wait for a confirmation email to be sent with a code. Then finally get to order my food but with no options to remove sauces from meals etc and then it to remove all selections from the basket and have to start over again. The pub/Hotel has no information up letting people know to download this app so I had to interact with the staff to find this out but can't order my food with them.
This is a con. I downloaded the app as I had made a booking at one of the Group's restaurants and had been promised a GBP10.00 discount in January if I ordered my food and drink at the table by using the app. However, the app would not work. The waiter told me that the restaurant had "deactivated" the app as they were very busy and the food was cheap anyway. Totally dishonest.
Imagine wanting to order food at a pub, and you need to *install an app* for that, which takes ages to download due to poor signal inside the pub, then when you finally open it, it has *mandatory sign in* to do anything useful, and it has *no social sign in* so you have to fill in a massive form + confirmation code. I ended up walking up to the counter to order food, but that whole app experience made the entire pub experience worse. You would make your pub better by not mentioning the app.
Poor overall. Looks great but frustrating. There's no search function so you have to scroll through endlessly to find a specific thing. You MUST grant location permission to use the app, you can't just say which pub you're in. Finally after I'd entered the whole order and went to check out it just disappeared, and I had to start again from scratch which was infuriating.
Dire. App wouldn't load, produced an empty menu, specials couldnt be ordered. Best of all, when trying to place another order of drinks, it wanted to cancel our food order. Absolutely outstanding. If this waste of time and space is still running on our next visit, we will not be returning. Appalling. There is absolutely no excuse for launching such a poor app. I feel for your poor staff having to make excuses.
It's a shame that you can't view menus without having to spoof your location or be there in person, it falls short of the wetherspoons app. Worked fine at the dolphin in betchworth, though it's a shame a vodka and coke was £12. Seems like it is down to the individual pubs whether it will work properly or not at the moment, hopefully just teething issues. Perhaps phone up before you go and ask if they've had issues with it.
Just the fact you are forced to download an app is ridiculous...and then not be able to use it You have to agree for then to get your phone number, and then get an activation code to even be able to see the menu. If you have an international number you might not get anything. Also, there's no reason for them to get personal data. Wit the WiFi us the same story. 10min wasted we could just queue...or idk they could get waiters
