Excellent! See what you're eating! Greatly exceeds my expectations. Simple to use. Scan the bar code of any food item - it quickly provides a score with a breakdown of the good and bad. I quickly scanned most of the things in my pantry used regularly and immediately identified 3 or 4 things to eliminate/reduce/replace in my diet. Some scores are obvious - butter is bad with high fat, calories. But, my "healthy" non-butter spread was much worse! It suggests healthier alternatives. Great app!
It's a great app! Free version. The work behind the scenes saves me the time from having to do the research. There's a breakdown of ingredients and explain the risk factors. They provide healthier alternatives as well. No ads, a plus! I look forward to seeing more products added. For a small yearly subscription, there's more. Thank you, Yuka Team!
Great app. Very useful, it informs you of all of the positives and negatives of each product on your health. The only problem I have, is that it takes points off the total score if there are any additives at all, even if they are no-risk. Which, isn't much of a problem for me because I can decipher that myself, but it may not be accurate for people who base their judgement, purely off the number.
Overall all great app and very eye-opening the chemicals in our foods. One thing I would suggest is the ability to see what grocery stores carry the products listed under the (alternative) Recommendations, or even a filter where I can select only recommendations that are available at a particular grocery store. That would be very helpful as I don't know if my store carries all the ones that are listed.
besides that it is a phenomenal app to bring awareness to what's actually in your food, I love the member feature. I wanted to search a product up and it said you had to be a member. I clicked the become a member option, expecting it to be $100+ a year and it gives you the option to donate whatever you can! I know many people, all in different states and parts of the country, who use this app. with it being as big as it is and not ripping people off, is an easy 5 star!
Yuka is a powerful app that is simple to use. I used to spend so much time at the grocery store, scrutinizing the tiny ingredient lists. But now, I scan it with Yuka and get an easy to understand summary in seconds. Yuka has greatly enhanced my ability to choose the products that are the healthiest, and to avoid toxic additives. Scanning our cosmetics I found that my husband's favorite shampoo is rated 0/100 because it contains 3 highly toxic additives. Time for a new one! Thanks, Yuka!
This is one of the most addictive apps that I have ever had. i just wish there was a way to alphabetize the product. I've shared this app with at least six other people who absolutely love it also. Old products that I have on my shelf and new products that I recently bought, there's just no end to the information. This app has changed the way I purchase items.
Fantastic app! Lightning fast, reliable, informative, super easy to use, I couldn't recommend this app enough- especially due to what it does and the service it provides ALL consumers! I have been racking my noggin trying to think of any improvements and the only way is if you could push a button and any item would be on its way to you from the vendor. So basically.... perfect score!
I've had this app and love it for what it does. but the last year it's been so glitchy, I have to close the app completely between each scan. (pixel 10 pro) from other reviews I'm starting to think this is an issue with pixels specifically. update: no one has a fix, cancelling my subscription. Downloading the Olive app. sorry yuka, when your app worked I loved it. but no support, no subscription.
Phenomenal concept, execution poor: per example, the app uses an AI that is not always correct (and glitchy), thus meaning a good portion of the ratings are not trustworthy. It also does not include your dietary needs or a balanced diet; meaning it might encourage a poor diet for you. It does give an idea of what products are healthy or not (sometimes).
Good app but a little disappointing. I am color-blind, so I find the current color-coded dot rating system difficult to use. To improve accessibility, please consider incorporating different shapes alongside the colors. For example, you could use a star for "good," an "X" for "bad," and a half-moon for "horrible" etc. Additionally, it would be helpful to provide a chart that lists all rating categories in order of their value. This would make it much easier to assess your findings.
Works well. Very informative, although I do wish the "search" option was available without paying. I love that it saves scanned items across multiple phones if I'm logged in with my same account. I don't like that it doesn't seem to take issue with certain problematic ingredients like erythritol, and I wish it rated items like laundry detergent, dish soap, and cleaning products. So I appreciate the extensive info it gives, but I don't entirely agree with all of the ratings. But overall great!
Been using this app for a few years! I love using it and that you can add missing products! I wish there were more details on why the score is so low, for food. I think the additives should be more heavily impacting the score than a slightly out-of-range salt or saturated fat. It would feel nicer to be able to find some high-scoring desserts 🍨😅 love the new call-out brands feature. Not sure if there's been any effect. Would love to get some follow-ups 😀 Thank you for making it more accessible
This app was great...up until it asked for membership. I paid for the membership because I love the app and wanted to use the 'search' feature but every time I try to use the feature, the app crashes. The app is up to date. I uninstalled and reinstalled, same issue. My phone has more than enough memory and it's a Galaxy 25+.
I love this app. It really spells out exactly what each ingredient is intended for and what it can do to your body, and if you need to quickly scan and go, you can alter the settings to flag certain allergens right at the top. I don't love subscription payments but I find that this one is absolutely worth it given that the app is always updated.
Nice, informative app. It would be nice if there was a way that one could somehow link an item they find when shopping online to the App if there is no barcode showing in the picture to be able to scan, because sometimes the search option is not very helpful. The more words you put in the search section the less helpful it becomes. Would be nice if supplements were added as well!
You can't shop without this app. Not only does it help you make decisions about two products that you may not be familiar with, but it also then turns out one was awful and the other great. It's such a help in trying to avoid all the garbage they stick in foods these days. I tell everyone I run into in the grocery stores who stop and ask what I'm doing about. Download it NOW.
Good while it lasted. Several items omit dangerous ingredients, and the process to image and upload the ingredients label is broken, and refuses to take a photo, and there's no alternatives to add the offending ingredients. They force you to send them an email to repeat the issue to make a bug report. Because that's efficient. 🤦
I've been looking for an app that will help me eat better and make better choices. I've been using for about a week now and I really like it it has saved me from buying the wrong Foods in the supermarket, and toss food in the fridge and cabinet. And not only tells me that the food is poor it gives me a list of ingredients that makes it a poor choice, but also gives me a alternative. I thos app will become a life saver for people that's of course if they use it. Thanks! God bless.
This is the best tool to have when shopping for cosmetics. so many brands that claim to be clean actually are not. It's danced me so much money as I've not purchased what I thought was a good product. I often tell whomever may be shopping next to me at the store about the app. and they're very happy when I show them the scan results. Thank you, Yuka!! You're the best!
