Reasonable step tracker but what is with all the notifications? It nags you to allow notifications and then blasts you incessantly. I turned off the notifications in the app settings but still get blasted every few minutes. Dismiss a notification and it immediately pops up another one. When I complete my daily steps, it notifies me that I've completed them. Then I dismiss that notification only to be notified AGAIN that I've reached my daily goal. It also randomly resets step count to zero. Bye.
I downloaded this to help keep me aware of how much I'm walking everyday and to connect with a calorie app I have, it would continuously stop tracking my steps at random times throughout the day and on day it would track consistently for a few hours it would then delete the few thousand steps I had for that day from my history. not a good app and do not recommend, it is inconsistent and finicky and will not let you track your steps with any sort of accuracy
It randomly turns off, so you might be clocking a ton of steps and then look at your phone and the accupedo icon isn't there, you open the app and it says 0 steps. No, accupedo. I've been walking 2 hours. NOT 0 steps. I want a pedometer I don't have to remember to open the app every day and every reboot. Fairly accurate when it does work but is it really annoying when it doesn't. Also, I don't know if it this app or MyFitnessPal, but they both say connected and never connect.
12/23 Update: Followed instructions below, still having issue of not always logging steps. App stopping even within 24 hrs of manually opening. Wouldn't recommend if you want to dependably track progress towards a goal. Nice interface, decent graphics. What knocked the rating down is that I started to lose data regularly. Some days the app doesn't count until I open it. Sometimes the data shows on a daily chart but not weekly, throwing off average. Alright app, wouldn't pay.
Better than nothing, I suppose, but not very accurate. It awards me far more steps than I've actually taken. When I carefully count out 100 steps, the app usually tells me I've walked 105 to 110 steps. Simply handling the phone to make calls or use other apps adds steps. A 20 minute drive over smooth roads with the phone in the car's cupholder added 180 steps.
The app stops working almost on a daily basis. I even prevented my phone from closing the app, even though it is draining my battery, but it still stops counting steps. The only way to get it working again is to manually pause the app, then resume counting. On top of all of that, the widget doesn't even open the app when I tap it anymore. This is troubling because I have had Accupedo on my phones for almost 10 years, and this is the first problem I have had with it.
So far alot more accurate than Google fit... This app seemed to work alot better than Google fit. GF is always over the actual mileage. This tracked very accurately. The messages could be a little more encouraging. I walked 4 miles in the morning and it told me I wasn't active enough. Also add a way to manually enter in steps just in case you forget to turn it on or it crashes. It crashed once on me but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt because my phone has little memory left on it...
I enjoy the app, except, after several hours of walking or even near the end of the day, the app resets to "0". Very frustrating. Often, I have no idea how many steps were deleted. If I try their advice, that means it will delete the whole years/past years activity. I don't think I want to do that.
It was great when I first downloaded it, took a bit to get it fine-tuned because it was initially too sensitive. Lately it has been resetting for no reason (phone in my pocket or using another app) and I've lost all my steps for the day. Please fix. Update: I'm not changing my settings for this app. I'll try something else instead.
App seems great so far, but I can't seem to get it connected to MyFitnessPal even though each app knows about the other one. After reading the developer reply below: I will probably still keep the app, but it's a shame it doesn't connect, and I will probably not persist the premium membership with MyFitnessPal because of that. If I can't track my steps asking with my meals, there's very little point in getting MyFitnessPal to analyze my energy levels.
Helpful tracking of steps as a background app, and interesting when tracking "activity" (in my case, going or for longer walks) where you get a map and the speed and altitude differences during the tracked period. It's not always perfect, it sometimes shuts off for a few days and I only find out when wanting to check the kms whales during the past week, but in general it's a handy, unobtrusive app.
This free version is fantastic. Charts everything, kcal, distance etc. There's motivational messages and reminders, you can look back at your history. Easy to navigate, and easy to read. This is the best free step counter I have tried and I have looked at a lot, best of all it works with My Fitness Pal. Its that good I'll be going full version as soon as funds are more available. . Superb app.
This is a good ap which gives a good profile of activity and weight management. Unfortunately it does not go back further than 12 months and old databases can not be merged (a problem if you've been a customer for years as when you get a phone problem the the is lost). Also, now the ap has moved to being a paid for product I'll be surprised if it is supported for long, there was no improvement to the product, such as resolving the above during the change. A shame.
Since last update it doesn't count steps anymore. It's set to keep running in the background and I don't have an option to disable removal of permissions. Update: I've checked the power saving - this app is already in the exception list, as I'd done that a while back to improve accuracy. It's only counted two steps for Monday, which is completely wrong. There are quite a few reviews recently saying it doesn't count anymore. I would suggest this is a wider bug (I do work in IT development)..
As Elena A has just described; this app has stopped working in the background which was always the majority of my steps during the day as I work in a large factory. It'll work if it's switched on to a particular activity such as a run or walk and is very accurate...but my day to day steps are no longer counted. My battery saving settings are turned off and I have the latest updates for Accupedo and Android (10) so it must be your updates that have stopped it running in the background...shame.
Uninstalled. Didn't count steps accurately AT ALL, even after modifying the settings from standard to most sensitive and the other thing that uses more battery consumption. I tried different levels and nope, I had to keep editing my steps myself so what's the point of having this? Might as well walk around with a pen and paper on hand and just write them down. Very disappointed.
Love this app. I have to do a lot of walking due to a heart condition. I measured my average step/stride length before using the app and can confirm that my step count is quite accurate . Nice that the step count can be changed. For example, when I forget to put the app "on hold" while in the house it allows me to deduct any number of steps that were rung up while puttering, say around the kitchen. All I care about are real walking steps. Don't buy an exercise watch. This is the cat's meow.
this is a great app to have! it is so easy to check at the end of the day and to know how many steps I took to better my health and fitness. seeing that spurs you on even more to "outstep" your previous day! it was easy to install, and my daughter recommended it to us..now I pass this little gem on to as many people as I can. it is actually fun to, and mentally beneficial to trace your footsteps!
Updated app doesn't tell me off for my starting weight being underweight, which is an improvement, but now the app doesn't accurately log your steps if you have other apps running in the background. If I go for a run, I have to take an extra device to listen to music on so that my phone can accurately log my steps, which is a pain. Hopefully this is just a bug that can be fixed soon.
I love this app, it suits my needs. I don't need an all singing and dancing programme, just a simple guide to steps, distance, speed and calories. I've found it to be an accurate step counter, plus a great help for noting burnt calories. I use it as a guide to my 10k daily steps. I have found it to be the most accurate app to fit my requirements without being overwhelmed by ads.
