Bitdefender Parental Control

Doesn't appear to work on Google Pixel 7 Pro. Continual warning that it needs to be updated in Bitdefender Central, OR my restricted profile appears to vanish on the Central website, to then return soon after, and restricted content is accessible on phone when it shouldn't be. Then the app appears to block content it shouldn't, such as the BBC and other perfectly safe websites and internet traffic for messages. I've ultimately removed it, as it's impeding internet access when it shouldn't.

For iPhone 12 mini an app is not tracking almost anything, only phone contacts of the child. Customer service response time is longer than a week with general information, which doesn't resolve an issue. Response usually would say that an app might not work for all models. If an app is not suitable for iPhone, which is widely used globally than what is the point to offer this kind of service.

Like many others my experience of this app is that it simply DOES NOT WORK. When installed it blocks every application; including the system launcher, regardless of whether or not the application has been allowed or screen time is permitted. I've had to uninsall it completely from all devices just to allow my children to use their devices. Parental control is a highly contentious issue anyway, the behaviour of this app has only served to re-inforce my son's view that his parents should have no right to determine what, when, how and where he may use his devices. This has set my efforts back by at least 3 years. Until I read that a flawless installation can be achieved without the intervention of a support technician, [and I have yet to read a review of a successful assisted installation!] then I shall keep well away and will not be renewing my AV and security subscription next year.

I am a bitdefender user. I paid for the annual subscription. I thought your parental app would be better than google family link. I was wrong. 1. It can be uninstalled easily 2. It can be deactivated by turning off accessibility and using battery optimizer to not run it in the background. 3. It doesnt work - i tried setting it up on 2 gadgets. Both screentime and daily usage feature did not work. Even the locate feature doesnt work. I tried this on android phones running on android 8 and 9.

We installed this app on my daughter's tablet. The app rendered the tablet useless. Despite the fact that I marked play store and chrome as allowed, my daughter could not open them. Secondly, when I wanted to install the Google classroom app I couldn't get the play store open. I had to assign the device to myself in order to be able to install the app. This was after spending 20 minutes chatting with tech support. This app is terrible.

Great Antivirus but Parental Control had been always suffering... The latest break being not able to see in the Android Central app (parent device) the app names of my kid's device, although you may select each app and block/allow works! Pitty for the Bitdefender brand that the Parental Control had always problems... Would be great for allocating the resources to fix the Parental Control app at the level of the Antivirus.

My daughter's phone locked down completely to the point where it won't even turn on. I tried to factory reset the phone and it wouldn't work. Then I gave it to a specialist and they didn't know what was going on, and then I returned the phone back to the apple store to see if they could fix it. After the specialist took a look at it they knew exactly what was wrong when they tried turning it on they found the app had it glitches and they ended up going in factory setting it their store.👎👎👎👎

It simply doesn't work. I was told to uninstall and reinstall, no difference. Clearly there is a significant problem with this app. If you want to protect your child I cannot recommend using it. Very disappointing. I have worked in IT for many many years and if I produced something this flaky, I would pull it until I got it properly fixed.

This is the most disappointing thing about getting a Bitdefender subscription. Everything else seems to be really good, but evidently parent controls are an after thought.. The app on my kids device blocks everything regardless if it has permission to be used. I wish this was more like XBOX, that a painless process to give access to a specific app/game..I was really looking forward to the location alerts that would have been helpful..as it stands I had to uninstall the app, to get anything to work.

Terrible...Frustrating... It works a couple of days, then it gets glitchy an starts blocking kind of random apps and websites, a real pain. The worst part is not been able to fix it or recover it...even try to uninstall is almost impossible and it leaves "worms" and you need to use hard force to remove it. Listen the reviews and avoid the app, look for other options if you need something for what it promise, avoid the pain. I will, as soon as able to remove it from all my devices.... *(

Since the 'update' I've had to remove it from my kids, phones, tablets and windows laptops. There is NO real control. It has universally blocked almost EVERYTHING that requires an Internet connection. I can't grant permissions to kids apps or sites, it's blocked all previously working apps. I have zero say in what is permitted or not. Going to settings and allowing EVERYTHING still blocks almost everything. No EDGE support? On windows laptops??? 🤦‍♂️ look at your customers recent reviews!!!

Installed across 3 different devices, iOS and Android, doesn't work on any. On Android the only app activity it showed was for the user interface. On iOS nothing at all. Location works occasionally but then doesn't update and shows them at home no matter where they are. Emergency parent contact doesn't work at all. Apple and Google have better free apps by far.

Worthless, huge disappointment, can't access child location can't block apps. I love Bitdefender but this app is a 0 zero, it is unable to do the two most important things, locate the child and block apps. 👎 I won't be renewing this. There's a reason it's only two stars, and honestly it's not 2 stars, it's ZERO stars. Do better Bitdefender, you're got a lot of disappointed customers.

I've dropped ScreenTime for this one, as I've now bought a year's subscription to the BitDefender Anti-virus, and I'm not really impressed. It won't let you configure whether individual Apps can be used (I'd like my kids to have access to Excel and Gmail after hours, but not PowerDirector). My son has figured out that he can turn every day into Saturday by changing the clock and getting two hours instead of one a day. This is installed on Windows laptop, Lenovo tablet and Motorola smartphone

BD dev teams - you really need to fix the screen time issue on androids once and for all. I've tried contacting the support team, we went through numerous actions together, and whilst the team are amazing in their approach and customer service, the problem has not been fixed. Parental Control is one of the main reasons I purchased the license and the inability to fix the issue is becoming beyond frustrating.

if you bought the bit defender for parental controls, do not. I repeat do not buy this product ! The parental control app does not work on the tablet. It cuts off 85% of the screen so you cannot even set it up. Tech support told me that this is a known issue. If it is a known issue, why would you advertise that It works on tablets and obviously does not.

Parental control does not work. Antivirus great. Their other stuff is amazing but this isn't. You just end up blaming your kids for turning stuff off or fiddling with it when it's the bugged software. Customer support tried to help but back to the same problem again. I paid extra for this software also but it looks like they don't bill me for it anymore which is a good thing because it didn't provide what I was paying for.

Almost Zero Control, kids can DELETE this app easy from setting and if you lock the setting by applock, it will be Uninnstalled by DRAG and Uninnstall . App list not working for management allow/ restrictions. I had several conversation with support but no help.Restricted app used by kids several times! I paid and trusted this app, but this is my last time I use this parental app.

This app is so annoying. Every time I open an app, parental control pops up and doesn't let me access it. The only apps I can open on my phone without this happening are phone, messages, settings and camera. It is impossible for me to check my email, play a game, do homework, or even to check a math problem on my calculator. It is so dumb and even blocks some websites that I try to visit. It just keeps fighting against my phone. I mean, I can't even set a timer or check my calendar with this thing!

Do NOT use for parental controls too many bugs. Would give negative stars if possible. Unable to track, data doesn't show latest location for several hours st a time. Unable to block access to phone every time it's needed. Insecure controls due to browser use. Please do not consider this app if you want your child to remain SAFE
