ColorNote® is a notepad app that provides a simple and efficient note-taking experience. It allows users to write notes, memos, e-mails, messages, shopping lists, and to-do lists. The app features two basic note-taking formats: a lined-paper styled text option and a checklist option. Users can add as many notes as they want to their master list, which appears on the app's home screen each time the program opens. The list may be viewed in traditional ascending order, in grid format, or by note color.
The text option allows for as many characters as the user wants to type. Once saved, users can edit, share, set a reminder, or check off or delete the note through their device's menu button. In the checklist mode, users can add as many items as they'd like and arrange their order with drag buttons activated in the edit mode. After the list is finished and saved, users may check or uncheck each line on their list with a quick tap, which will toggle a line slash.
ColorNote® also offers features such as organizing notes by color, sticky note memo widget, checklist notes for to-do list and shopping list, organizing schedules by note in the calendar, writing a diary and journal in the calendar, password lock note, secured backup notes to SD storage, and online backup and sync. Users can sync notes between phone and tablet and share notes via SMS, e-mail, or Twitter.
To use the sticky note widget on the home screen, users need to go to the home screen and hold down their finger on an empty space and choose widget. If the app is installed on the SD card, the widget, reminder, etc. will not work properly because Android doesn't support these features when installed on an SD card. Users can move the app back on the device and reboot their phone to use those features. Backed up notes data can be found on the SD card at '/data/colornote' or '/Android/data/com.socialnmobile.dictapps.notepad.color.note/files'. Users can create a to-do list note by selecting a checklist note, putting items, and saving.
