Description

Sky TV has launched a new design that makes it easier for its customers to find and enjoy the best TV shows. The new design also includes recommendations tailored to individual customers and allows for easy switching between compatible devices. Sky Go offers over a hundred channels, including free-to-air favourites like ITV and Channel 4, as well as Sky Atlantic, Sky One, Sky Sports, and Sky Cinema. Customers can also catch up on shows they missed and download their favourite recordings to watch offline with Sky Go Extra. Sky Go is available to Sky TV customers at no extra cost and can be downloaded onto compatible devices. The app also recommends movies based on customers' preferences and automatically plays the next episode of a series. Sky Q customers can pause shows on their TV in one room and pick up on their device in another. They can also download their recordings to watch offline. To use Sky Q features on the Sky Go app, customers need to be on the same WiFi network as their Sky Q Box and have a Sky Q Multiscreen subscription. Sky Go Extra allows customers to download shows to watch offline and stream without using any of their data if they are a Sky Mobile customer. However, a Sky Go Extra subscription is required. The app is available to residential customers in the UK or Ireland only and some programmes from live Sky TV channels may be unavailable via Sky Go. Sky's privacy notice explains how the company uses customers' information, which can be viewed on sky.com/privacy.

A hit & miss experience for me. So often, whilst I'm using the app at home (via Sky broadband) the feed freezes. Sometimes it's just the picture that freezes whilst the audio continues. It's also somewhat frustrating that A) the favourites from my account don't appear here, and B) I'm paying £5 per month to skip ads but it's impossible to skip ads on to the app! And, when I need to restart the stream after it's frozen, I'm forced to watch an ad before I can resume the show that got interrupted.

Pretty good. Room for improvement though. Does the job of streaming well. However, you can't switch between Sky box and Sky Go easily. I mean you can't start a show on Sky Go, and then be able to switch on the TV and carry it on from the same point on your Sky box. Indexing is a little strange, and I find it a little uncomfortable compared to other services. But I use it regularly, as it does the job well.

The app performs well and is functional. However, I am scoring low due to the limited features on mobile and xbox. It would be awesome if you could view your saved shows and continue watching list as a sky customer on the go. I guess it's designed this way in order to force customers into subscriptions for their own Puck and box platforms.
