A hit & miss experience for me. So often, whilst I'm using the app at home (via Sky broadband) the feed freezes. Sometimes it's just the picture that freezes whilst the audio continues. It's also somewhat frustrating that A) the favourites from my account don't appear here, and B) I'm paying £5 per month to skip ads but it's impossible to skip ads on to the app! And, when I need to restart the stream after it's frozen, I'm forced to watch an ad before I can resume the show that got interrupted.

Pretty good. Room for improvement though. Does the job of streaming well. However, you can't switch between Sky box and Sky Go easily. I mean you can't start a show on Sky Go, and then be able to switch on the TV and carry it on from the same point on your Sky box. Indexing is a little strange, and I find it a little uncomfortable compared to other services. But I use it regularly, as it does the job well.

The app performs well and is functional. However, I am scoring low due to the limited features on mobile and xbox. It would be awesome if you could view your saved shows and continue watching list as a sky customer on the go. I guess it's designed this way in order to force customers into subscriptions for their own Puck and box platforms.

Absolutely awful app and tv box. Whenever I tune into live sport, the live feed constantly buffers despite saying there is a good internet connection when watching on live tv. Secondly, when trying to use app on the go with downloads the quality drops to 360p and then when I use public wifi or mobile data to watch live sport, I get error messages even the website cant explain only sky users offer suggestions. There isnt a definition of error. I cant believe i am paying £53 for this service.

Update for 2025 - still the same from 2022!! It's the worst of all the on-demand/streaming apps. Clunky, slow, takes forever to load, constantly disconnects from the Sky Q box whilst in the middle of watching something, can't download a recorded programme because apparently I've downloaded if too many times even though it's the 1st attempt, ads ads & more ads when steaming a programmes, etc. The list just goes on, it's utter garbage but we're stuck with it!

Why build it that way? A good app until you want to see what is on the catch up section channel 5. When you look you might see a couple of different programs but then you get a good 30 episodes of the same program like fireman Sam or the good fight listed and after scrolling and scrolling and scrolling you might see something else. I don't know if you do it because the broadcaster demands it or something else but just use a drop down list after a user clicks on a episodes. Use common sense!

App has so much potential, yet falls short in areas. For a long time I've been having issues with watching recordings - lots of buffering, error messages & being kicked out, as well as screen being dark, even when phone brightness is max. The best way I found to reduce buffering was to repeatedly force stop & clear cache. I was forced to update app today & both buffering & darkness are even worse, unbearable to watch...or try to!! It would also be great to be able to get subtitles in recordings

Recording remotely is great. But available programmes often don't come up in the Sky Go app: e.g. today I searched for something that is on TV tonight but searching on Sky Go it only found it on demand. And even though two series are available when searching on Sky Q on the TV the app only found one series! And why does the TV guide in the app start at ITV/STV/etc. and not include BBC1 and BBC2?! A potentially great app that's let down by poor functionality, updates and maintenance.

Good and Bad (very) The app allows you to use Sky's programming, and seems to work well. Search function is quick, and that's great because there is loads to choose from. Now the bad, adverts, lots of them. Some you can skip after 30 seconds, others you can't. I pay the extra for no adverts, which works with TV but not the app. They annoy so much, if I wasn't paying to remove them I'd accept it, but I pay and don't get the service.

Poor app. Often doesn't load. No profiles like other streaming services to continue where you left off on other devices. No link to your main tv service. Forced to watch another set of adverts even if you're just searching for the last part of a programme viewed. No option to switch off adverts like other streaming apps. Only gives option to skip adverts. Avoid if possible. Better streaming services available.

Awful. Bearing in mind, this app is part of a paid for subscription service, the constant forcing of ads every time you try to play a show, irrespective of how long it has been since you last saw one, with no option to skip until 30-40s in is unacceptable in an app that runs on a phone. You know, the kind of device upon which you might watch Sky on the Go, and not want an ad break every time you have to turn the screen off. Also won't cast, as if it's 2002 and multiscreen needs protection.

Without a doubt the worst viewing app ever!! Tonnes of "technical issues". Riddled with adverts. Video freeze. Volume out of sync. It's utter and complete garbage. You'd think with the amount of money sky is that they could at least build a app that doesn't make you wanna watch Netflix or any other service just through sheer frustration. Pish.. Just pish

Great unless you don't have Sky Broadband. In our current place we got the full package of TV and Broadband, it's performed consistently good as a small screen when doing other things. Previously we had a different service provider and it struggled to reliably sync up. We'd frequently have it working but stripped of Freeview channels because it wouldn't sync with the main box. It's a great app, but beware if not on Sky for broadband.

it is a great app but previously if 6 accounts were linked the 7th would be told you have reached your maximum please delete 1 account, now you can log in and knock the least used account out, my issue is an unauthorised account can keep gaining access as above, also despite a change of password and email address the unauthorised account can continue to access your account if they are already logged in as the device remembers the device so no prompt to log in again security breach ??

The app used to be really useful that I could update scheduled recordings on my Sky Q box without disturbing others. However I have now found out the app will only link to the Sky box if you have multiroom. since I removed that from my subscription, I don't have the option to see what is recorded or scheduled on the main box.

seems very clunky compared to other streaming apps such as Netflix. Needs to integrate much better with Sky stream and Sky go on all devices. Despite paying for advert free, it appears that this app doesn't allow it, and it's only of use on the telly. That's definitely rubbish and I won't renew the add-on.

Excellent service. Plenty of content and options. Update!!! 12/12/25. Still the above, however, a frustrating thing that seems to be recently happening to me is that when I want to watch the sky go app in a different room, even though I have closed the app on the initial device, I get a message on the new device saying too many devices in use!!!!

So frustrating trying to set it up - it asks for a verification code sent to your email, but when you go to check the email, the app reloads and needs a new code which requires going back to your email app, but by doing that, the Sky Go app then needs another new code and on and on the cycle goes, until you find an alternative way of getting the code without having to leave the app!

I have to say Virgin was better. (as much as that pains me to say). Too many programs are not available to watch on the GO. PINs for too many programs. Even setting the Device PIN. If you search for this nothing is found. Can't watch unless you download. Once downloaded you have 48 hrs to watch, impractical if there are many episodes.

App is garbage, used to be so good and now, it's 50/50 if you can watch a downloaded programme, keep getting 'An unknown error has occured, please try again. Error code 3:25 [-41942911]' Also when you go into a show to stream makes you watch the advert then comes up 'Sorry this item is no longer available to watch. Error code: 3-22' Just find this app is useless now - latest update says they fixed the bugs - I dont think it has worked!!
