5 Stars. It's a great journal app, and I love the personalization that premium offers. The one and only thing that keeps me from fully committing is the lack of an hourly view. I would *love* to be able to see the mood by hour throughout the day for daily energy tracking and such. I think it would fit in beautifully with the stated goals and purposes of the app. Other than that, it's very nice, and I would definitely recommend it.

Great! I've used it for a while and probably one of the longest been on a dairy app. wish it had a website version and transcription, but super incredible service. Easy to see snap shots of my mood and feelings and see what affects me. (4/8/23) Update: adding that I've stuck with this and it's made Journaling so easy. Best app and so simple for my needs. Just wish had PC compatibility, but I do know some work around.

Daylios has been an incredible app! I've used it since 2018. However, today I encountered an error where it will not let me add any more entries, and since this morning it has become worse - now the app crashes upon opening. I have restarted the app, cleared my cache, cleared all app data, reinstalled, everything. Nothing works. Edit: my bad. I was using the "greater than" and "less than" symbols in an attempted entry, causing the app to read parts of my written entry as data.

I love it. I've been keeping track of everything in here on a spreadsheet for the past 5 years, and no idea about this app until a month ago and it's great. Though one big thing I would like to see changed is to have the ability to change when your day starts. For instance, if I log an entry at 2am, I want it to still count towards the previous day. I think for most people anything before 4 am is like the previous day. I would just like the option, but otherwise, this app is awesome!

I was using the journey app but the synchronization is horrible and even though I'm going to miss having a video instead of just audio this is worth it. I bought a new phone and I just clicked one button to say synchronise and it was on my other phone all my entries. they have lots of options here, you can even choose an important day and it will count down for you. the only thing I wish it had was double speed when you play back you recordings. pretty perfect diary app

I try a few apps for goal setting and tracking. So far, this is easiest to use and I love it. <3 Edit in 2026 below: The best app for motivation and journaling! I’ve been using it since 2018 and still love it. The picture gallery, weekly view, birthday reminders, monthly and yearly reports, and journaling templates are all fantastic. It’s truly helped me become more self‑aware and mindful in living a meaningful life.

Since I started using this app almost a year ago, I have been more consistent with journaling than ever before. I really appreciate being able to log events and activities without having to write a note if I'm tired or pressed for time. Edit 12/25/25: I finally went for premium and haven't regretted it once. I'm using it more than ever before. I also realized that the bug with adding photos is actually my phone's fault, not Daylio's. One of my top two most used apps!

I've used this app more consistently than any other mood tracker out there. I like being able to make entries for past days. 5 stars all the way, but there are more features I'd like to see. I want to be able to track my meds on entries. I had a medication change recently and was able to track its effect on my mood, but only with the help of another app. Adding a medication tracker to this app would be amazing for the stats you'd be able to see.

I have been using this app for 6.5 years and I love it. Best journaling app I have found by far. It's easy to use, you can put as much or as little info into it about your day as you want/have time for. I love that it notes your journaling streak and you get different badges for various accomplishments which is a fun bonus. I got the paid version after using the free version for a few years, but the paid is not a necessity to experience the app. Can't recommend it enough!

This app does a really, really good job. You can customize it for yourself as much as you want, there aren't annoying, distracting popups reminding you to do stuff like basically every other app has. Making an entry is super smooth every time, whether I just want to mark a single activity and mood or whether I want to sit and journal for a half hour. I wish more apps were as straightforward, polished, and consistent as this one.

im super happy with how much can be done without needing to pay anything. I wanted to update this as its gotten much better over time and I don't think I could have found a better app for tracking my mood. it really helps to see visually what I feel and when. everything behind the paywall is either cosmetic or just adding extra activities, scales, and the like which is fine as the free version gives you more than enough to work with.

This has been the most helpful mood journal app I've used. I've tried dozens of other ones, and they just didn't stick. The free version is excellent with plenty of features and customizable options. I finally bought premium after 6 months or so when they had a really good sale. Premium gives you tons more customizable options. The most helpful part overall is the breakdown and analysis of everything. This has helped me see patterns in my mood which was a huge struggle before.

I am in love with this app. It's compact, customizable and one of the best journaling tools I have found to date. It reminds me to do daily entries, so I have no excuses if I forget. Plus, the premium version allows me to set and track goals and has sliding scales built-in to the app. I love that they give me metrics about my moods and related activities. It helps me manage my depression and anxiety better. This is a great self-help tool. Also, auto backup saves data for me so I don't forget.

Tried a bunch of diary/activity-tracking, and Daylio was the clear winner. I HONESTLY CANNOT RECOMMEND IT ENOUGH. Been using it almost 7 years, and it just keeps getting better. The customizability is its killer feature. I use the app to track my focus and work (& have changed my categories & activities as needs evolve), while a family member uses it to track pain & health conditions (& we export data to share w/ doctors). 2025: Recently added scales & color options for activities — so helpful!

started using this in August as a form of Journaling. I don't typically devote more than a couple minutes to each entry, but it's fun seeing how frequently my days are "average" or "good" and how frequently I do certain activities. if I ever need to look back on a day, this is a great way to get myself back in that headspace I was in as of writing it.

This app is only a 7 day trial then you need to pay for a subscription. Yes, this can be used as free trial but it asks for a payment method before you even begin. I want the option to get to know the app for free, then if I choose to add a payment method I can do so. Why make people remember to cancel a subscription? If I am wrong please show me how to skip adding my credit card info or just use the apps free version.

Update: I've had this app a couple years or so now and I like the yearly recaps and ability to measure my moods and compare them from year to year. I've made fewer entries this year but still try to be in the habit of it. I'm adding from 4 stars to 5 because this app has been so consistent and never had any problems. I like the daily reminders to put in an entry. Wish it was easier though to go back and look at my notes from past entries. I do like the analytics that track patterns in my moods.

Great mood tracking app. Lots of options for setting your own moods and good functionality with option to add daily notes, goals, etc. edit 1/1/26: still going strong, can't believe I've been using this app consistently for so long! i started using it in mid 2023, in 2024 i missed a few days due to a hospitalization, but 2025 i managed 365 entries. i love this app and i appreciate that premium is such a reasonable price. totally worth it.

The app is okay. Mood stability doesn't take into account for days that weren't entered. Example: mine says July was my best month, but I only had 4 entries in July which was actually the worst month regarding my input into the app. Therefore, saying my best mood stability was July is not accurate. Overall, the app allows you to see patterns but you should analyze the information for yourself before you take to much of it to heart.

I love this app so much! it's great just to take some time and reflect on my day and I really like looking back at my week or month and at all the stats. I have the paid version and it's always been worth it. I use it every day and I appreciate the various updates over the years that add features. I recommend this if you want to track habits or just your mood. or just have the reminder to check in with yourself daily!
