Description

Desmos is a company that aims to make math accessible and enjoyable for all students. They believe that the key to achieving this vision is through learning by doing. To start, they have built the next generation of the graphing calculator. This calculator can plot any equation instantly, from lines and parabolas to derivatives and Fourier series. It is intuitive, beautiful math, and best of all, it is completely free. The Desmos graphing calculator has many features that make it a powerful tool for students and teachers alike. Users can plot polar, cartesian, or parametric graphs, and there is no limit to how many expressions can be graphed at one time. Sliders allow users to adjust values interactively to build intuition or animate any parameter to visualize its effect on the graph. The calculator also has a table feature that allows users to input and plot data or create an input-output table for any function. In addition to graphing, the Desmos calculator has a statistics feature that can find best-fit lines, parabolas, and more. Users can also zoom in and out of graphs, scale the axes independently or at the same time, and edit the window size manually to get the perfect view. The calculator also has a points of interest feature that allows users to touch a curve to show maximums, minimums, and points of intersection. Desmos also offers a scientific calculator that can handle square roots, logs, absolute value, and more. Users can type in any equation they want to solve, and Desmos will show them the answer. The calculator can also plot cartesian and polar inequalities. Best of all, the Desmos calculator can be used offline, so no internet access is required. Overall, the Desmos graphing calculator is a powerful and intuitive tool that can help students and teachers alike. With its many features and offline capabilities, it is a great resource for anyone looking to learn or teach math. Easily the best graphing calculator on the market, especially considering the cost (or lack thereof) and convenience of it being an app. **I am having an issue in which I can't log in via Google.** This aside, there is not one thing I dislike about this app, and I look forward to seeing what they will add next-- 3D app, anyone? I'd love to see a day in which Desmos wins the metaphorical war against TI.

This is an advanced calculator that you'd pay alot of money for to do math assignments for classes, except that it's simpler to use, has different graphing methods up for you to simply plug in and give you the answer, allows you different colored and textured lines to distinguish your functions, graphs instantly, allows you to zoom in and out pretty much infinitely.....so in almost every way, it's better than a calculator you could get in a store and pay over $100 for, except this is free.

Fantastic and incredibly useful. PLEASE change it back so that one can scroll laterally through an equation on a given line!! This makes plugging different numbers into the same formula so much easier! For longer formulas, when the end of the formula is off of the screen, and not being able to swipe to the end, there is a high probability of hitting the clear line (x) button when trying to plug new numbers in to the end of a given formula!!
