Easily the best graphing calculator on the market, especially considering the cost (or lack thereof) and convenience of it being an app. **I am having an issue in which I can't log in via Google.** This aside, there is not one thing I dislike about this app, and I look forward to seeing what they will add next-- 3D app, anyone? I'd love to see a day in which Desmos wins the metaphorical war against TI.
This is an advanced calculator that you'd pay alot of money for to do math assignments for classes, except that it's simpler to use, has different graphing methods up for you to simply plug in and give you the answer, allows you different colored and textured lines to distinguish your functions, graphs instantly, allows you to zoom in and out pretty much infinitely.....so in almost every way, it's better than a calculator you could get in a store and pay over $100 for, except this is free.
Fantastic and incredibly useful. PLEASE change it back so that one can scroll laterally through an equation on a given line!! This makes plugging different numbers into the same formula so much easier! For longer formulas, when the end of the formula is off of the screen, and not being able to swipe to the end, there is a high probability of hitting the clear line (x) button when trying to plug new numbers in to the end of a given formula!!
Before using the app here's some things to know: 1. You can't use your normal keyboard. They have an in app keyboard to use because it is appearntly extremely difficult to make normal keyboards work. 2. You can't copy and paste. For the same reason as the built in keyboard. 3. You can toggle whether you want to save a copy. I saw another reviewer confused why it always saved as a copy. There's a blue checkbox when you save. I LOVE DESMOS. I LOVE HOW FAST THE GRAPHS RUN ON MY PHONE
As a whole, this app/website is amazing for me, I can visualize the general data given on a homework assignment. I think you should add a few things in the calculator though. Such as the ability to convert a data table into an equation via the settings in the input bar. Also having recursive functions would be super helpful. Finally, another idea is to add a way to view steps for converting from one equation system to another. Like y=mx+b to standard form etc.
Awesome, both on app and website. Very clean interface with no clutter and no ads. All the calculator functions are neatly foldered. Also, it's convenient to save graphs with Google account. The calculator is quite powerful and is able to carry out select calculations that Wolfram Alpha has trouble doing, like definite integrals. Also grapher is very precise; if you zoom in enough you can get more than 12 decimal points. Overall a great app and has helped me in high school, college and beyond :)
Desmos Graphing Calculator is a game-changer! Its intuitive interface and powerful graphing capabilities make it the go-to tool for math enthusiasts and students alike. Whether you're graphing functions, exploring transformations, or solving equations, Desmos delivers with speed and accuracy. Plus, it's free! Highly recommend for anyone needing a reliable graphing calculator on the go.
This is an outstanding app, but for one problem. It doesn't understand imaginary numbers, so it deals with negative numbers oddly. (-1)^2 apparently equals -1, solutions to quadratic exponents are missed, etc. Still one of the best graphing calculators, would recommend to any maths student in need of a quick, easy-to-understand and simple calculator.
This app could be truly great if we're not for one unfortunate detail; they want you to create an account and sign-in, in order to save your graphs. What is the point of creating an account? Your graphs can be saved to your device as easily as the app was. So therefore the only reason to create an account and sign in is so that another party, entity, person May be able to copy your work. I may not be coming up with E equals MC squared, but I do believe that one's ideas and work is there own. Signing into an account may be harmless, but they're not trying to harm you they're trying to make money off of you. I just want to use an app without someone looking over my shoulder
Works great! It took me a little bit to get used to how it wants to set up variables, but once I got going I found it super handy. The possibilities are just about endless as for what it can do and plot. Even complicated complex plotting (real and imaginary) works great! High quality app for sure!
4 stars until the hold -> open visual options feature is improved for mobile. Currently, editing the e.g. colour, line width etc. of your graph elements is nearly impossible, because the app assumes you are trying to drag and reorder the element in the graph hierarchy. Otherwise, its amazing.
Desmos is a really powerful graphing calculator (maybe even more) and it's really great to use. But I feel like the app is missing some features that are present on the website. You can't really resize the equation/graph panels. I have a phone with a large screen and the panels are side by side, not leaving enough room to edit long equations easily. Having the ability to move panels and scroll equations horizontally would be great. Also copying and pasting equations isn't really present...
The impossibility to save MY data on MY device is the utmost, terminal insult to the fundamental principle of data privacy and violates the foundational principles of computing: saving, copying and moving your data. If I could give it zero stars, I would.
Amazing for math! Desmos can handle more equations than a little old physical calculator or your phone calculator. And guess what? Desmos comes WITH A GRAPH!!! 📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈.
this is a great app for understanding math deeply with the help of graphs! I love it!!
The app has good (but not great) access to many of the web-based modules. I could get over that; however, the UI is difficult to work with. Specifically, I find "long-clicking" to be a game of chance, at best. As well, the inability to scroll through statements (not sure if that's the correct term for each new line) without the cursor needing to be a part of them is particularly irksome.
Wow, this is above and beyond what I was looking for. After being fed up with the tiny screen, buried menus, and time consuming edits of graph sizes on my Casio fx-9750GII, I thought "Why the heck am I using a seperate calculator when I have a smartphone? Surely someone has made something better than this 10 year old clunker!" They did! I would gladly pay for this app, but it's free! One less thing to carry around and making graphs on here us actually fun! Thanks Desmos team!
Hands-down the best multi-platform graphing calculator app. Desmos has been there for me through school, recreation, personal finance, computer programming/graphics, and just everyday life. My only problem is with the lack of vector and matrix math capabilities.
The simple inclusion of a vector and matrix symbol could allow the seamless addition of function-driven or even default vector/matrix operations. A Desmos matrix calculator already exists. Just incorporate that.
Great tool. But the interface for equation input can be tricky. It's only possible to scroll to the end of an equation that is longer than the input field by moving the cursor with the left/right buttons of the onscreen keyboard. Those buttons are dangerously close to the delete button so you may inadvertently erase part of your input or, even worse, all of it by accidentally hitting the X when you try to place the cursor as far right as possible.
This app is great but there are some issues that have been bugging me for quite a while now. I always get logged out after some amount of time, and I can't make the dark mode permanent. It reverts to original everytime I reopen app after closing. Also, it's impossible to copy and paste an equation I've written in the app, please make it so that I can do so. Also, sometimes when the graph lines are too close, I can't zoom out or zoom in. So, add a separate button for those two. Thankyou very much
