App connects to charger, but fails during update at 3 min. Reinstalled app with same result. Called tech support and was told the issue would be sent to software support and she would call me back in about an hour, that was 6 hours ago...I am unable to use the app, because it won't allow me to get past updating. There is no download page on their website, or tools available for troubleshooting. I'm also less than thrilled with their website. Day 2 and so far unimpressed.
My phone easily paired with the charger. The app correctly identified the serial numbers of the charger and both hearing aids so I know the phone is "talking" to the charger. But none of the controls work. Not one. No Sound Match, no volume control, no filter selection. In reading past reviews, this is a known problem but Eargo has no solution. I'd go so far as to say it's false advertising.
This app (and the Eargo5 by extension) is GARBAGE! The app simply doesn't work; it keeps freezing, restarting, and quits randomly. What is the point of having these hearing aids if I can't even use them properly? What a total joke...I will be returning these hearing aids and requesting a full refund. I would advise everyone to stay away, it's a complete waste of time.
This product hardly ever works. I try to connect and it won't. Something went wrong, it says. Try again. It doesn't work this time, either. I wouldn't have to connect if the hearing aids worked better, but they don't. I call support and they give me tips that don't help. The first set they sent wouldn't charge, they said it was cleaning. I do that meticulously. They sent another set. Different problem,same result. I'm stuck with them now. My next ones will be from someone else.
The hearing aids are good, after a day of use. There are a few things that prevented me from giving 5 stars here, however. 1) Pairing took several attempts. BT would connect, but the app would indicate "failed to connect." 2) When updating the preset programs, pressing apply/save will make it appear as though it locked up. It eventually saves the changes, but it takes a minute. 3) There are no visual results from the "sound match" feature. It'd be nice to see the results of the hearing test.
The app no longer works at all. i understand it was just changed. As a fix, start by firing the people that released the latest app. I'm required to log in, but I get, essentially, a blank screen. I can't get passed that to change volume settings, or to program the devices. I called support. She couldn't help and put me on hold. Eventually, my call got dropped. I have an Android phone, Eargo-6. The app used to work. Now nothing works. This is a big problem. CAN YOU HEAR ME?
I had similar problems to others. I had to figure out to point my phone's speaker towards my ears. I believe I also solved the charger connection problem by going to a corner of my house far away from any computer or Bluetooth device. Lastly, it was failing to do a Bluetooth update after 15 seconds. Instead of putting both aids in at the same time, I put them back in one at a time about 10 seconds apart and then it was able to do a full synch. Hope this helps others and wasn't just random luck!
Received my Eargo's three weeks ago and they worked great. Charger synced with my Pixel XL without a problem. Last week the charger stopped working. They sent me a complete new set which was great BUT the new charger does not sync with my phone. The tech who called said my phone is not on the approved list and that's probably why it's not syncing. Looks like I have to buy a new phone? Why did the old charger sync but not the new? I think the hearing aids are great but this is BEYOND frustrating.
Received my Eargo5s a week ago. Still cannot get past the "Smart" sync. This is the main feature of the Eargos and the only way to receive this feature is with the app. I honestly don't know if this is an issue with the app, or if it is a non working feature of the Eargo devices themselves. I see several other reviews with the same issue.. Bottome line, if the Eargos are not working I will be requesting a refund.
When I purchased the devices, it worked alright, but I had a hard time. Programming them and them staying programmed. They go out of programming all the time, so therefore I'd have to always do a hearing test every couple days Now I have had them for couple years. I don't wear nothing because they're aggravating. And I can't figure out how to do them, right. They need to update the app to see how many levels you're turning it up-and-down.
Not reliable. Recently purchased eargo 6 and this app will not connect to the case. First pair had to get sent back. Second pair was able to connect but now won't update. Got it to update once but couldn't tell you why compared the the 20 times it wouldn't. Same error message over and over. Not sure how I can keep a device that is not reliably functional.
The app frequently loses all sound connection even though my phone's Bluetooth shows a connection and is paired. I press a setting in the app and no sound. I've reinstalled it twice - same reset after a few weeks.
Mostly good. Updates have improved control of my 7 and 8 hearing aids. Adjustments are prompt and effective.
I wish I would have read these reviews before I bought. I think the product is sound....just the software is a serious issue. Got the hearing aids, no issue with them until the software update with my phone after still not working....they sent me a second pair and the app can't finish the connection..... I have to wait a week before someone can get back to me. Currently, the hearing aid doctor is trying to help me but with no luck. VERY disappointed... Especially for $2500.
Was able to connect the charger to the app but that's about all. After connecting the volume adjustment screen came up, but no menu or any way to adjust for different settings. I just got these 3 days ago and I am not impressed. What's the use of offering an app if it doesn't work. For the money I have spent this is unacceptable to me. Considering returning.
Installed this app in a Kyocera Duraforce Ultra to control Eargo 7 hearing aids. Found that phone and charger would find each other, but they would not connect. Performed all the troubleshooting steps online including deleting the app, ensuring all programs on phone were shutdown, turned Bluetooth off and on, rebooted phone and many other steps that did not work to connect. I planned to return them. Next day I tried it & it connected & worked. There must time on registration to connecting?
Well, it took something like 2 years but the software now seems to work with Eargo 6s on the Pixel 6 Pro. Pretty unhappy with the very poor Android support. Update: Dec 2024. Batteries failed again (only lasting 2--4 hours). After some useless trouble shooting with support they tell me I'm out of warranty but can buy new ones. First set of units were replaced due to battery failure after ~1 year. These only lasted about 1.5 years... Not impressed.
Warning, do not buy the new Eargo 5's. Have had over 2 weeks and on 2nd charger because the case will not connect to phone. Replacement case will not connect either. Key function necessary to setup hearing devices to your hearing. This is what you pay the extra $500 for, something you cannot do because their app will not connect to defective equipment. Not what I expected for $2,500.
Right now, it's 0 stars. I was forced to do the update, and after it would just freeze up. I couldn't use the app at all. So I deleted and re-installed. No luck. I called, and they told me the update doesn't work with all phones and they are trying to figure out what to do. How about rolling back to what DID work? And how will I know when it's updated? They sure didn't send me an email before, and my app isn't set up now, so I can't even receive notifications that way. Freaking geniuses!
While the devices are really nice and the support has been good as well. My issue is the app may or may not run on my Samsung u22 phone. The app was present but would not perform the basic or any remote controls. Needed support to remotely make changes then manually update my devices. Not great process but it was working. Now the charger won't connect at all to my phone so any updates/changes can nit be done either.
