The Thrill of the Ride

At its core, this game provides a deeply satisfying sense of progression. The feeling of upgrading your vehicle, smashing through hordes of zombies, and reaching the next checkpoint is genuinely rewarding.

Customization and Expression

The ability to customize vehicles is a definite high point. From adding new weapons to improving armor and engine performance, there's a great deal of depth that allows you to create your ultimate zombie-slaying machine.

  • Weapon Variety: Chainsaws, machine guns, rocket launchers.
  • Armor Plating: Strengthen your defenses against the undead.
  • Engine Upgrades: Increase speed and power to plow through hordes.

Joyful Destruction

The physics-based gameplay creates moments of pure, unadulterated fun. Watching zombies ragdoll as you smash through them in a heavily armored vehicle never gets old. The level of environmental destruction adds another layer of enjoyment.

Progression and Milestones

The game's progression system is well-designed. Unlocking new vehicles and upgrades provides a constant sense of accomplishment. The gradual increase in difficulty keeps you engaged without feeling overwhelming.

  1. New Vehicle Unlocks: Discover unique rides for zombie annihilation.
  2. Upgrade Paths: Strategically improve vehicle performance.
  3. Story Progression: Drive toward freedom chapter by chapter.

Delightful Art Style

While not graphically intensive, the game has a charming art style that perfectly complements its gameplay. The cartoonish zombies and exaggerated vehicle designs add to the overall lighthearted tone.

Sound Design

The sound design is surprisingly effective. The roar of engines, the crunch of metal against zombie flesh, and the satisfying thud of weapon impacts all contribute to an immersive experience.

Overall Enjoyment

This is a simple yet addictive game that offers hours of entertainment. Its satisfying gameplay loop, customization options, and physics-based destruction make it a worthwhile experience for fans of the genre.

  • Addictive Gameplay
  • Customization Options
  • Destructive Fun
  • Repetitive Gameplay
  • Simple Graphics

Final Thoughts

While some aspects of the game may become repetitive over time, the core gameplay loop remains enjoyable. The constant progression, customization options, and satisfying destruction provide a joyful experience.

Description

Earn to Die 2 is a thrilling game that takes players on a journey through a zombie apocalypse. The game features a massive new Story Mode that is five times longer than its predecessor. Players must drive through cities infested by zombies to reach an evacuation ship waiting on the other side of the country. The levels are now multi-tiered, with players driving across decayed highway overpasses, via underground tunnels, or smashing through epic zombie-filled factories. The game is free-to-play, but contains 3rd-party advertising and optional in-app purchases. The game features 10 different vehicles that players can unlock and upgrade, including a sports car, a fire truck, and even an ice-cream van. Each vehicle can be equipped with a range of upgrades, such as armored frames, roof-mounted guns, boosters, and more. The zombies will stand no chance against these upgraded vehicles. However, players must be careful as the vehicles are now fully destructible. Hang on for your life as your vehicle gets smashed to smithereens if you aren't too careful. Earn to Die 2 is a bigger and better version of the original web series, which includes Earn to Die 2012 and Earn to Die 2: Exodus. The game is an ad-supported game, and WRITE/READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE is required to load and display ads in-game. For more information on advertising, please see the game's Privacy Policy. Overall, Earn to Die 2 is an exciting game that offers players a thrilling experience as they drive through a zombie apocalypse.

Personally, I could go without so many ads in the way, I get the need for ads, but it feels like there are too many. Other than that, this is a really enjoyable game that surpassed my expectations from the first one. The first one didn't have any armor or damage to your vehicle, it didn't have weight upgrades, and all the zombies looked the same. They still kinda do in this one, but it's more diverse. Good job Notdoppler!

This sequel adds some fun new features like location-based damage. The general gameplay loop is similar (good for short sessions) but it also feels more linear and grindy (maybe because of the monetization type). You can't keep using your old car on new levels because you have to use the "improved" one- which is frequently worse than the old car until upgraded. You can't decide to try and use a lighter or heavier car. The upgrade path also feels like it's the same every time. Still fun.

The progression in this game is too slow and incremental compared to the first. You need to chip away at every upgrade, and it doesn't accelerate the rate that you earn quickly enough. There's no room to feel clever skipping an upgrade, or do a few extra runs to save up for the next vehicle, etc. It gives you barely enough for another upgrade, then you go 10 more feet every run. The first game had a lot more player freedom and was better. This game is less fun.
