Equalizer FX: Sound Enhancer

Was just searching for an equalizer that would work with the Roku app. This dev actually asks for a credit card as part of the registration regardless of your intent to be a paying subscriber or not! STRIKE ONE❗ And then, after installation, I am not allowed to try it without an ad for a stupid car/traffic game appearing... AND YOU CAN'T BYPASS OR GET OUT OF THE GAME AD!!! STRIKE TWO❗I don't need to wait around for a third strike. Pulling the ejection handle on this one. Adios❗

News flash, guys: you're not the only game in town. For prospective users, hardware EQ controls in Android are presented through API, thus many apps are capable of using them. This includes bass boost and stereo expansion controls which the last update made unavailable for non-paying users (as if that wasn't the point of letting devs flash ads at us). I suggest you look for another app, or use a media player with a built-in EQ; this app has jumped the shark.

I had this app on my last phone for 2 years, and removed it when I switched phones in late 2019. It was the best sound booster & equalizer anywhere on Play Store. Noone was touching it. It had tons of features, was easy to use, and sound was never distorted. Oh, and back then there were no ads and most features were free. To go from the best, to the rest...what were they thinking?

This app is absolutely amazing. There's so much besides just loudness that you can adjust for better experience in your phone. I recommend, 10/10. You don't have to pay for anything, and it works sooo well. Lately, my airpods on my Motorola g7 power have been super quiet, even when the volume was at Mac. I could not find a solution because I didn't have an equalizer setting in my settings, and this was the perfect solution.

App itself it decent. I'd rather 10 band eq, but this does a decent job overall for a 5 band. The 3 effects, bass boost, vol boost, virtualizer are all better than fair. The problem I have is with the presets. They're good and plentiful but, the list often just disappears leaving me stuck with whatever I chose last. I haven't found a reliable method to get it to repopulate either. Frustrating...

Minimal permissions required, layout is simple. For those of you new to mixing, here's a simple test of an EQ: zero out all the EQ bands except the middle one. Put that one all the way up. There should be no bass but vocals should loud--the middle band its the most powerful sound changer, ideal for poorly recorded podcasts. Bass is to the left and treble to the right. Generally speaking, a V-shaped EQ should satisfy most ears. Be careful, you can blowout headphones if volume + EQ set too high.

After having tried several dozen different equalizers for my LG Stylo 3, this was BY FAR, ABSOLUTELY THE BEST ONE! But i have to give it one star, only bc when i unplugged my headphones to talk on the phone or watch a video with other ppl, it made the sound like i was trying to play it submerged completely in water. Which to me, if the app is that amazing, when I'm this picky, then I'll just deal with having to close the app. But it wouldn't close. ever. Even on a forced stop & ran 99%battery

I have been a loyal user for several years now, as after I spent at least 30 minutes testing at least 20 other apps this was my favorite and the most functional. Recently however, the developers got greedy and went from banner ads (which I was fine with) to a full blown paywall that blocks access to all previously free features. Now unless the devs fix this and remove the paywall I will either have to find another app or find a modded APK file for this one elsewhere. Not happy one bit!

Works for 3 hours and quits. Then the ads turn into video ads with sound. I was so happy to get to use this with YouTube and gave it a 5 star rating then it just quit. I am sad now that it quit. I couldn't figure out why it stopped working until I realized it was the video ads. But now it won't start working again. This is a major disappointment. Not a way to get someone to buy something. A good way to make them uninstall it for sure. Thanks alot.

Ads are understandable for revenue. I get it. An ad every time I select something in the app literally every activity, is intrusive and greedy. Also, 14.99 a WEEK? GIVE ME A BREAK, THAT IS STRAIGHT NONSENSE. The options available within the app without the 3 day trial and without paying 60$ a MONTH for an app are very limited. That's 720$ a year, for an APP. I really have no idea if the app works or not, because after the 3rd ad within 10 seconds I was done. UNINSTALLED.

I used to LOVE this app. Not anymore. Ads constantly stopping my music. I just deleted the app . I give it 1 star only because it won't post otherwise. Honestly I give it 0 stars. I had the pro version that I purchased 2 years ago. Now I don't have that. Shouldn't have to pay for it again and I won't be. Such a disappointment. The fact that this version is free doesn't matter Because all the ads are irritating. See ya!

At first, the app worked as intended. However, recently I cannot listen to youtube music or the default music app for downloaded music. On rare occasions it will work, but immediately drop playability afterwards. All sound for other apps aside from the two mentioned work fine. I will try uninstalling and reinstalling after checking to see if this is the issue and will update my review after some time has passed.

Frustrating doesn't come close. Constant ads, can't even try it to see if it's worth paying for it. The premium is way too expensive at a tenner a week. Thought you'd misread that? No, that's not per month, it's per week. I'd want to give it a full go uninterrupted for at least 30 mins before getting a load of tiktok ads stopping me dead in my tracks. Uninstalled after 6 minutes.

Does what it's supposed to plus a few extras. One star down because it takes about half a second for the equalizer to kick in each and every song. My phone's lowest volume is still quite high sometimes, so I made a profile that's very quiet. Unfortunately falling asleep with it is still impossible, because the first half second is without the EQ. I'm not sure if that's something the devs can affect, if it's not, then I'll edit the rating to 5/5

I really liked this app, was even going to purchase it when it stopped being free. Then it started to play a video ad - while I was listening to music in the middle of my workout, when concentration kinda matters. Probably the most arrogant ad I have ever faced. Sorry I don't like being pushed into buying something, I'll check out the other options. There's plenty.

Recently buy a pair of earbuds which not meet my expectation. The treble is to high but not crystal clear, the mid is a bit low, and the bass is too low for me as if you are hearing the drummer playing drums to far from the stage. This apps alow me to reach my expectation though so it's all good. However, if the apps can be updated so that there is no lag during the play of music in spotify (equalizer kicked in late when you clicked to a song and starts playing the music), I'll be 5 stars.

Sucks now. Wasn't bad when I first got it but they got greedy and now they stick you with full-screen ads, and once-free features now require you to pay. Developers get greedy and you ruin their apps by trying to squeeze an extra ad or two in but it backfires! There comes a point when enough is enough. I'm uninstalling this and finding another one. See ya!

The app is great. It has a preset for literally any genre and the sound actually changes when you change the preset. The bass gets amplified very well. There is only one thing I don't like, it could just be my phone, but after a certain point the volume doesn't get louder even if it's at 100% loudness the volume will be the same even if the sound is at 70%. If this was fixed then the app would be absolutely perfect

Unusable due to amount of ads. Ads appear to be designed to pop up and cover the entire screen every time you touch the screen to try and adjust the EQ. No way to whether or not you like it or not before spending money on it. Developer says the paid version has no ads but they completely miss the point of my review. I can't see how this product even works because the rapid and constant ads make it not usable.

the ads since about half a year totally destroyed this great app. connected via bluetooth with maximum volume output? here, have an unskippable ad blast your ears away! ads are okay and all, i get it, u make money with it, but there's a line that's definetly been crossed. and the price u need to pay to get rid of them is just not right according to the value. will change to another app, it's a shame. used to be my must-have app
