The app works fine overall and manual sync does the job. However, scheduled sync is unreliable and sometimes takes a very long time to time out. The sync progress is also inaccurate — it often starts at 99%, which doesn’t reflect the real progress. Good app, but these issues make it hard to fully rely on it.
[2026-02-24] oh no, not again. I uninstalled and reinstalled this PAYED app (losing all my sync configs) to get rid of ads. And they are back already. DO SOMETHING, QUICK! These ads are of the worst kind : paralyzing, and VERY LOUD when you try to stop them. [few month old comment] App was fine. And payed. But I'm bothered with ads now. Could not find anything in the FAQ. Why?
Great app! Suggestion, it should have the ability to delete synced pictures in source folder but only after they're X days old and confirmed backed up, so you can keep pictures on your phone for a time, but eventually delete them automatically on the phone as long as they're synced. Sweet Home WiFi sync back in the day had this feature and it was awesome.
Great app overall. It seems to get confused with the case of folders though. For example I have two folders that are identical other than the case of one of the letters (don't ask me why, suffice it to say that it isn't something I can fix) and the app seems to only recognize one of them. It's as though it thinks they are the same folder so it skips one of them after syncing the other. Other than that, it works great :)
I'm so glad I found this app, it makes automated backups and folder syncing (similar to apps like OneDrive) to a local server so incredibly easy. I think my only complaint is the error messages can be a bit confusing or hard to access/find in the app itself. I had an older phone that didn't like to sync and I couldn't for the life of me figure out why. The automated backup/syncing is also not EXACTLY at the time you specify, it can vary some. This isn't a problem in my use case though.
I use next cloud but I was having trouble getting the auto uploads to be consistent. Then I had trouble getting the manual syncing to work correctly. This app solved all of those problems. Not only does it enable me to have it automatically sync anytime it detects a new file is in the folder, it runs on a schedule perfectly as well. I honestly don't know if any extra features were provided by getting premium, but I was more than happy to help contribute regardless. Perfect app.
Good concept with a lot of options. It works quite well with the cloud storages I use and the sync'ing went well except for my Nas. I could not get it to find it. I tested with a different app and it found it with no problem, which brings me to think that this app was missing some protocols. Over all it works OK and it does, so far sync the files. Just the little issue with my NAS. Try it. Update: Unable to link to most cloud storage now Jul 2022.
I recently rediscovered this and oh my goodness it's so great. I am now syncing local files from my PC to my phone (using SMB), syncing cloud files to my phone for easy, local access, and backing up the entire user file area overnight to a different backup drive on my PC network. Maybe not as capable as Syncthing, but a hell of a lot easier to set up!
An incredibly useful app that just... Works. As someone who maintains a library of music files, this app makes it syncing updates to my library a one button affair. My biggest gripe is that setting it up for SMB is a bit odd. Rather than having access to all shared folders on a locally shared drive, you must specify each and every individual root folder. Not a huge deal in the grand scheme. Ads are ads. But the functionally is solid for a free app. If you need a syncing app, this works wonders.
So useful! Dropping one star because: Status page during a sync never updates. GB of data, moved, thousands of files but status page is all zeroes. UI needs rethink. Everything is an "error", even when things are working fine. Makes it almost impossible to know if you're actually ok with a fairly deep investigation. No prompt or even warning about permissions unless you dig into log files. Many options, but no real explanation. 20 year tech vet...
Syncs successfully once, then it can't find its own folders to sync again. That's pretty annoying and inconvenient. If I need it to sync regularly and don't have the failure notification turned on, I'll just lose new data when I upgrade to a new device under the impression that everything synced. I'm going to need to try something else while this is broken. Shame because I otherwise like it.
Excellent app, and works incredibly well, I only have one problem with it which is preventing me from giving it a five-star rating. From one phone to another recently, and I had to fully recreate all my syncs as this doesn't back up to Google or any other cloud-based service. Please set it so that it backs up into the cloud where I can pull down all of my settings without having to recreate everything on a new phone.
Used to be great. Now it takes 40 minutes to 'analyze' files. There is no way to see what's happening, there is no estimate of wait time. That's 40 minutes analyzing before transferring internal to external, no network involved, not a file transfered. And whereas it used to nearly always 'just work', now it fails at least half of all attempts. This used to be a really handy, fast sync. Not anymore. I'll see if I can find an old version that still worked, but this is now trash, IMO.
Amazing app. After a lot of research and trying other apps, I finally found this app to do exactly what I needed and in a very simple way. I had created a shared folder on my laptop and wanted to move all files from my phone to my laptop every day automatically and wirelessly and on a nightly basis. This app was able to do exactly that!! Plus, the app allowed me to only move files that are older than certain amount of days. Works great!
Some apps just do the job. No fuss, no muss, just do what they are supposed to do. FolderSync is one of those products with quiet excellence. If I could improve one thing then I would make error/failure notices much more "in your face" (maybe send email or txt) However, this is really an excellent app and the Pro version is very much worth the upgrade and very highly recommended. If you need to competently back up your files, this is for you.
I am so happy to have found this app. My phone would run out of space all the time making me unable to video important moments in life. I'd want to back up my photos to my own drive (in addition to the google photos backup) before deleting them off my phone and making space which I would have to do manually. But this app has so many options, I was able to set it up to move / backup any pictures older than a month, clearing space and now my 64gb phone always has plenty of space to take more pictures / videos. awesome. Also, I use it to sync interesting audio/video files that I see while sitting at my desktop but I want to experience later on my mobile. I just save the file to a folder in my google drive, knowing it will sync to a folder on my phone which I will open when I'm in the car or otherwise able to listen. voila. awesome.
Local folder-to-folder syncing or auto-moving, too! Great program. I almost couldn't get it to work because I tried to sync from local folder: internal storage to remote folder: external SD card, and it kept failing with permission denied despite granting permissions. However, it worked once I changed it to local folder: external SD card, remote folder: internal storage. || I dislike the video ads that pop up at full volume sometimes when I'm changing settings, of course.
Amazon cloud is no longer syncing, or logging into my account. I am getting a "Forbidden" error in the log. I have been using this app for years and years, and still love it! This is the first issue I have ever had. And it is probably something Amazon changed. So i will not give a bad app rating.
Does not work. I have several folders set up to pull from an FTP server, a very simple operation that the software is not doing. Well, sometimes it decides to. For a couple of my synced folders. But the rest, it just pretends they're empty. Even though when browsing the FTP through the app they aren't. Avoid.
Does what I need - sync on demand with the exact folding pairings I want/need - on my phone for interacting with pCloud. The official app doesn't do this on mobile, and the other two apps I tried were SLOw. This is as fast as using Onesync with OneDrive, but the general version of that app is slow - 4 hours for a download-less/upload-less vs 30-40m!!! Two folders I sync are large and complex so if I sync everything its going to take a little time, but 4 hours is crazy!
