✨ Awareness Points: Mindful Ordering

Before opening the app, take a moment. Notice your hunger, your mood. Are you truly hungry, or just bored? This awareness is the first step towards a more mindful relationship with food delivery services.

🌿 Present Moments: Engaging with the Menu

When browsing the menu, resist the urge to scroll endlessly. Instead, focus on each dish individually. Imagine the flavors, the textures. Consider the ingredients and where they come from. Bring your full attention to the present moment.

Conscious Choices: Filtering for Values

Use the app's filtering options to align with your values. Search for restaurants with sustainable practices, locally sourced ingredients, or vegetarian/vegan options. This is a conscious choice to support businesses that reflect your ethics.

🧠 Mindful Aspects: The Delivery Experience

As you wait for your order, avoid constantly checking the app. Use this time for a mindful activity, such as meditation, deep breathing, or gentle stretching. When the delivery arrives, greet the driver with gratitude and a smile.

🎨 Intentional Design: A Simple Interface

The app features a relatively clean and straightforward interface. While functionality is key, consider if the design promotes a sense of calm or contributes to a feeling of urgency. Simpler designs often encourage more intentional use.

📊 Overall Mindful Value: A Tool for Connection

Food delivery apps can be valuable tools, but they can also contribute to mindless consumption. By using them with awareness, presence, and intention, you can cultivate a healthier and more fulfilling relationship with food and technology.

  • Convenience
  • Wide Variety of Options
  • Potential for Discovering New Restaurants
  • Can Encourage Impulsive Ordering
  • May Lead to Overeating
  • Potential for Increased Screen Time
Mindfulness Assessment

The app's mindful value is dependent on the user's intentionality. While the app itself doesn't inherently promote mindfulness, it can be used as a tool for conscious consumption with the right mindset.

So, let's wrap up. Good things: I got everything, the app interface is ok. Bad things: I couldn't set proper address, I was waiting my order for more than one hour instead of 20-25 minutes and frozen food was melted, I had issues with payment and they ticked my promocode as used after my first attempt so I paid 15 euros more than I was supposed to. Thanks, but I'm done with this, I'm back to Wolt.

The only way to review restaurants is nowadays through a one-time pop-up window in browser, one day after the order and not if you have ordered something else in between. No way to write reviews in app. Refunds are not satisfactory. My order was missing items and as a refund I received the amount I had paid extra as bonuses that expired in one month. So basically as a refund I had to deposit the spent money to Foodora for 30 days. Other than this the app works well, so not completely useless.

Functional but not easy to use. Have about 30 orders so far. Food does not usually come all the way to my door. Delivery men just park at the street where I go pick up the order. This is despite me having detailed address entered and clear instructions on how to reach me with door code and everything. Interface is clunky but still functional. You could just try calling the restaurant directly and ask if they deliver on their own. Would be easier. Functions best in Helsinki.
