Description

The Strong Like a Mother (SLAM) program by Get Mom Strong is designed to help women rebuild their bodies postpartum and stay strong throughout pregnancy. The workouts are tailored to improve diastasis recti, prolapse, incontinence, back pain, and more. What sets SLAM apart is that it combines science-backed pelvic floor and core exercises with kick-butt, sweat-inducing workouts. The program helps women heal their bodies and feel stronger mentally and physically. SLAM offers total body workouts built for women, with strength and cardio workouts that benefit the core and pelvic floor. There are five levels of programming, from newly postpartum to advanced athlete, and coaching for each and every exercise. Workouts are tailored to your fitness level and pelvic health concerns, and minimal equipment is needed, making it possible to do the workouts at home or at the gym. In addition to workouts, SLAM offers pregnancy-specific workouts tailored to each week of pregnancy, health tips from a variety of birth workers, including pelvic floor physical therapists, an obstetrician, doula, and more. There is also a Fourth Trimester section to help women heal. The program also includes nutrition challenges to create new habits and over 100 recipes to help women fuel their bodies with love. I love this app and the SLAM program! The app works way better than any other workout app I've used (and I've used a few). The workouts themselves are well thought out, none of that, "I have five seconds between moves and I've got to get off the floor, unhook my band, move across the room, and the next move is over by the time I get set up." That's pretty specific, but the workouts really flow well. The content is also amazing, including workouts, health tips, recipes. Well worth a subscription.

If you follow Ashley then you know she means business, and so does her app. I've already spent time looking over workouts, setting up a system in the calendar, and reading nutrition and pelvic floor tips. I can't wait for the cool down option, and the reminder notification to tell me it's time to get my butt in gear and get the workout done. Easy to navigate, and her program is the best!

I love this program so much. So many options from being pregnant, newly postpartum, and beyond, how much time you have available, the type of workout you want to do, the equipment you have. My favorite thing is the focus on breaths during a workout, I 100% believe it impacts your core wayyyyy more. And she teaches you how to do it correctly, not like a 45 second lesson, like days of just focusing on getting it right. I can't say enough good stuff, it's amazing!
