I don't know why but the app will delete conversations and threads out of nowhere. I went to go respond to an email that was sent to me 2 days ago and it was gone. Went to search my sent box, couldn't locate the previous emails. I'd check the deleted, nothing. I went to go check every other folder including spam, nothing. I even typed in the email again to the best of my memory and nothing popped up. this has happened several times causing me to lose valuable information.

I wish there was a way to turn off "contact suggestions" entirely. The "hide suggestion" option is annoying because if you're actually trying to send an email to that person, you first have to unhide them to get their email address to populate, then you have to hide them again so they don't automatically show up every time you compose a message. I just want to type the first few characters and have the name show up like before, not be inundated with contacts Google thinks I want to email.

crashes immediately on Google Pixel 7 today. cleared cache and storage. Updated from 2 to 4 stars after developer quickly responded with a link. And though I tried things and it didn't seem to work. when I uninstalled and reinstalled it seemed that maybe I didn't have the upgrade even though app info said that I had. started working again, really not sure why, and it looks a little different so something changed. still frustrated that I have no idea what really fixed it so I can't help others.

Not sure if this can even be changed, but on my old phone the stars showed up as yellow. On my new phone (Pixel 8a), they are just showing up as gray. I do not notice the messages at all with gray stars, so it's almost pointless to use them. It would be lovely if the multiple color options available to use if logged in on a computer were also in the app, but I at least want some color back for my stars.

The app works great for most tasks, yet every update seems to change other minor things. Most of my emails do not fit the page now when I open them. I have to scroll from left to right to see the whole email. That is very annoying, especially in portrait mode. Even in landscape mode, which I don't prefer at all when viewing an email, I still have to scroll to see the whole email. Absurd!! Why can I not create/edit folders in the app? Not nice GOOGLE! More users have smartphones versus computer!

For some reason the "Reply", "Reply All", and "Forward" buttons are scaled way up, so much so to the point that it blocks to bottom part of the email I'm reading. In addition, they are so large that the text for some of them actually get cut off and move to the bottom, an example would be the "Forward" button. This is only on my mobile app from what I can tell, and the orientation of the screen has no effect on the button sizes. Other than that, it's pretty standard email app.

After how many years, still can't delete a single messages in a conversation; Now using AI for search results and can no longer get exact seaeches. For example, a search for Tripadvisor gives me anything with the word review in it. WHY? If I wanted reviews, I would search for the word reviews. And now searches aren't even hitting partial words making the function pointless, so review, yes, reviewsite, no. No ability to permanently move items out of categories either. *3 because it's functional.

Good app when it works. However, it becomes glitchy and non useful very often. I rely on emails very much on my phone and it gets impossible to use it a few times a day. It just stays on the window, when I click to send an email, and it does not do anything, I have to go back to save it as draft, completely close the application, wait for a while, open the application again, and often it resolves the issue for a while. But it happens again and again. I have to use web version sometimes.

Cannot use for photo attachments. Every time I send an email in a chain with previous attachments, if I attach new photos, the app will automatically add ALL of the old photos first, then the new photos. You won't notice it until after you hit Send. It's happened enough times to not be a coincidence. Rest assured they will never fix this problem.

Locked me out for using too much storage. Says I have to buy more. That's the definition of extortion. Even after deleting files to well below the "maximum" amount I am locked out. Keeping something that is not yours. I'll change my rating. here's how. 4 stars if unlocked within an hour, 3 in 2, 2 stars if it takes 3 hours, and longer than that my rating remains at 1 star.

It was very easy to switch between Gmail accounts. But at the time of making this, for whatever reason, they did a silent update to where now it makes it impossible. It's very un-userfriendly to switch to some Gmail accounts that aren't already signed in. Some that more previously signed in we're automatically signed against my will. Additionally there's been another silent update to where it's not allowing me to send emails. It just loads indefinitely.

The one annoying thing sticking out to me right now is the fact that the "promotional" emails at the very top of my email list will not UN-BOLDEN after I've already read them. So, it always looks like I have a new mail, when I don't, and I get caught in this endless cycle. It will grey-out, I leave the app, come back in, and it looks like it's unread again. Sometimes, new promotional messages that I was actually waiting on get pushed below the email I've already checked more than once.

I feel like my emails have been held for ransom until I buy a bigger mailbox! I wish it was easier to navigate through your products (mail, photos, etc.), so I didnt just erase all of my emails in vain since it made no difference!? I broke down and paid for a month in order to try to get everything right. Im not an overly happy customer...

Something is very wrong with Gmail right now and seems to have been for most of the day. Searching for emails doesn't actually change the results. Selecting something that shows up in the quick results area seems to fail, replying to emails doesn't retain any information (recipient, title, body), and it loads "available add-ons' forever. The app has been unusable that I've used my laptop or used the mobile web version on my phone (which looks like it hasn't been updated in 10+ years)

This app has always been a stable workhorse for me, but with the last update a couple of weeks ago, the app no longer notifies me when new emails are received for my main email account. The strange part is that I still get alerts for one account, but not my mail account. I have rechecked all alert settings and checked all the FAQs. Every setting is correct. It's been frustrating especially at a time when I need timely notifications for time-sensitive emails.

Latest version shows all grey labels as light blue instead, including Inbox. In the left pane when scrolling through the labels the colors are correct. On the website the colors are correct. But the labels shown on each e-mail in a listing, or while I have an e-mail opened, are shown with the wrong color. Really frustrating since I actually do have labels legitimately with that color and now I cannot quickly tell them apart. I even cleared the app data completely, but the color is still wrong.

made the mistake of updating from the road. now cannot use app until I log-in and verify. extremely inconvenient. I'm not sure what else you need to know: 1. Received message to update app. 2. updated app. 3. Received multiple notams to log-in to account. 4. Could not do from road. didnt have keys. 5. Got to a place where safe and convenient to take care of the issue. 6. All works ok. 7. Suggest updates include notes: App may not work correctly until Log-in, validation complete.

The app is suddenly dysfunctional. I have not modified the app settings in any way yet it no longer sends email notifications besides maybe once a day. It seems to only send notifications about once a day leading to me not being notified until much later after they are received. I don't know what kind of bug this is, but I have already checked my settings plenty of times and cleared the cache to no avail.

The app works perfectly fine. But the number of ads I'm getting is irritating as all hell. I'm trying to delete an email via swipe, but the app says: nope. Ads have to load first so when I do swipe to delete, I end up deleting the wrong email. Try to remove the ads first before deleting email; nope, it's not that easy. A new, different ad loads in, there is no escape. And working around the ads is just so cumbersome since some of them have pictures so the UI is so messy and cluttered.

I haven't been able to see my email in 2 days. I've forced quit the app and tried uninstalling but it's not responding. Also, I pay for extra storage and it's still always running out no matter how many emails, files, videos, etc I delete and always stop receiving emails. I'm starting to think that paying for extra storage a month is a scam because it's doing absolutely nothing
