I loved it at first, but when I was switching jobs, I decided to skip the month of january till I got a new job and settled. Yesterday, I went on the app and adjusted my frequency to every other month, and I guess the app took it as unskipping January and charged me without my knowledge. I asked the help center, and they said they could not cancel it or refund the money. the help center was not helpful in the ways of customer service, and since it was a chat bot, it just repeated the same thing.
updating my review because I haven't been able to use the Ipsy app for about a month now. The app just keeps giving "404 bad request" and "Kong error" messages. I can't view, purchase, do anything with my membership or account. app is great, sales are great, takes a long while to receive separate orders from the monthly bag. Some of the products come rancid or expired, I think. One of the masks smelled so bad, I threw it right away. Customer service is great though
This company likes to rip people off! You get an option of 1 thing in your bag every month but you can only choose out of 5 or 6 items but you have to be quick because if you're not then you loose out on choosing. The other items in your bag you have absolutely no say over and make sure you actually cancel your account or they will charge you wether you want them to or not and they will absolutely refuse to refund your money!
This app has gone down in user friendliness. For some reason they notifications NEVER work, and for the last several months when I go to click on view all products, nothing happens. Since they move the choice date around every month, it would be nice to get a notification from the app that choice is the next day and or that day. They also make it difficult to find the contact us section. It's buried.
The app worked as expected, until the past 1-2 weeks. Constantly glitching out, won't accept log-in, then auto logs you in, to boot you back out. Also has been the whole site & you get "We're Blushing" error page. Even the desktop version has been acting wonky lately too, but I can at least sign in & view my account page that way. The app is another story. Uninstall/Reinstall over & over, clear cookies, etc. Nothing is really working, so its not user error.
Decided to come back, and what a mistake. My very first box was filled with products For a completely different skin tone and beauty profile. The contact chat was completely unhelpful, and only encourages repeatedly to redo your profile quiz. I never leave reviews, however, this was such a disappointment at a time where saving money is important.
I like Ipsy, and I do enjoy the whole shopping experience on the site. However, the app oftentimes lags, when trying to go from one thing to another. I wish it were faster, and a little easier to navigate. However, I do appreciate the online assistant as well as (real person) customer service; I've had a couple of orders that I needed help with, and both options have helped me. I love getting surprises every month with my subscription, as well as the additional orders I've made.
Slow at times, but otherwise not bad. I generally am happy with the Ipsy experience and get products I'll use and that match my preferences. The points system isn't great. By the time I have the points for a product I want, they've changed the offerings and it's no longer available. Shipping could be better, but products arrive unbroken although sometimes items are missing and I have to get replacement items.
Best beauty box subscription. The options for sizes, the add-ons, and the ability to choose 1-3 of the products you receive is awesome. This ensures that you always get at least a few things you'll truly LOVE, and few to try out as well. They also really use the beauty quiz to pick the products you'll most likely love. I hate red lipstick on myself and have never received one! The add-ons include products that are $135+, for just $3, $12, $18, and $25! I paid $25 for a $290 skincare set!
When I first subscribed to Ipsy, it was so different and I loved it. Now it's a lot more expensive, you never get updated on the price change (well you may through email, but my email is so full of junk I rarely get my updates), but the rates are doubled and the products, even though are great most of the time, smell old at times. Actually it is becoming so not worth the price.
Ok so I been with ipsy for some time. But first of all I moved not so far from where I used to live but for some reason It's taking twice the time for my bag to arrive to my new address. sometimes I don't even get it until the end of the month. it's getting a bit annoying. And now they have this ($3 cash) that pops up and you can't go to your main page even if you cancel it. So what are we being forced to buy something from the choices that they're giving us? Might have to cancel subscription!!
I enjoy the subscription, but literally every. single. time. you open the app, they hit you with a full-screen ad inviting you to upgrade to a bigger bag. Then cue the identical ad on the very next page that has to be minimized, PLUS a banner ad saying the same thing. And of course, they include a note about it in the actual package too. We get it! Full-sized products aren't what I'm looking for and a "free gift" won't change that. Dial it back, guys.
Excellent when it opens. It just doesn't always want to open. Ipsy itself is a wonderful opportunity for me to try mostly high-end products for an affordable monthly fee. I subscribe to the GlamBagPlus: 5 full-size items for $25 and I get to choose 3 of the items, plus add-ons! This company uses a beauty profile you fill out, but I wish they would stop sending mascara, which I NEVER use. That's my only complaint. I love most of the other products they send me and have some new favorites!
I have really enjoyed the overall experience. I have not had any problems with receiving the items. and they are in good condition. But I wish there was a better way or a more in depth way to indicate specific items I don't need more of. Example, don't need more brushes but would like other beauty tools. Unfortunately they are lumped together and the main thing sent are brushes.
For the years (like 9) that's I've subscribed to Ipsy,I must say that it's quality has been over all mid grade. As awesome and fun as it is to look forward to the bag coming each month, the products are typically sample size, especially with skin care. Occasionally there is a full sized mascara or a tool like a fancy brush. I do like that you can choose one product for your bag from their line up from the "sneak peak" and the make up quiz you can take to stream line your product odds.
The idea of Ipsy is wonderful, the price is great for the products you get in each bag, the envelopes are so dang cute, customer service phenomenal! The app AND website could use some work!! The app definitely makes it easier for me to check info and shop for my products, as well as find out information on those products but it could be a little easier to page through to find some things. I'm giving it 4 stars not 5 because every developer can use that as motivation for the 5 stars! It's almost a perfect app!
I enjoy Ipsy because it has helped me to learn about makeup. I've been able to use most of the items from my glam bag, and they are of a good quality. The shipping time is long. The app frequently crashes, and is not user friendly. You can not review your cart prior to purchase during flash sales or daily deals. I've become so frustrated with the app that I cancel my purchase.
Ipsy is great. Besides the occasional mismatches in terms of what kind of makeup I am interested in and what I actually receive (they can't get it perfectly right *every* time), Ipsy is such an affordable way to explore different brands and types of makeup. Additionally, as someone who doesn't wear makeup a lot, I really love how I can get a ton of makeup that lasts me for super long, for such a low price every month. Oh, and the bags are so adorable!
I love the ipsy samples. I can not stand the app. As soon as you open it, you are forced to close an ad about gift cards. There should be an option to not see it again. Then you have to close the ad for the Glam X bag. If you accidentally close the app you have to close the ads again and it is frustrating. I would honestly buy more if you weren't shoving it down my throat every time I open the app. Oh look, another ad for inviting my friends to ipsy. EVERY TIME I USE THE APP. STAHP IT! 🤬
How is it that everytime there's a new deal on the app that just came out, it's sold out before you even have an option to buy it??! I've seen several items now that I tried to jump on as soon as it was released, and they were ALL sold out immediately. Also, I keep receiving similar items over and over, no matter how many times I've changed my preferences. I have so many of the same thing! I've given ipsy multiple chances as well, this is not a new thing. The app is great otherwise.
