Balance Points: Security and Accessibility

The app seeks to balance stringent security measures with ease of access for users. This balance is crucial for widespread adoption and trust. Security features, such as biometric authentication, must be seamlessly integrated to avoid hindering usability.

Advantages
  • Enhanced security with biometric options
  • User-friendly interface promoting accessibility

Disadvantages
  • Potential accessibility issues for users with disabilities if not properly designed
  • Security measures could be perceived as cumbersome if not implemented smoothly

UIDAI Service Integration

Provides a unified platform for managing Aadhaar details, linking services, and accessing updates directly from the UIDAI.

Harmony Aspects: User Convenience and Data Privacy

Achieving harmony between user convenience and data privacy is paramount. The app must provide users with easy access to their information while ensuring that their data is protected and used responsibly.

Privacy Evaluation

A transparent privacy policy and robust data encryption are essential for maintaining user trust and ensuring data privacy. It should also outline data retention policies.

Unity Elements: Aadhaar Services in One Place

Unified Services
Consolidates multiple Aadhaar services, such as downloading e-Aadhaar, updating address, and linking Aadhaar with other services.

Synergy Moments: Digital Empowerment

By combining security, accessibility, and integration, the app creates synergistic moments of digital empowerment for citizens, enabling them to manage their identity and access essential services with ease.

Harmony Element Description
Data Security Protecting user data through encryption and secure authentication methods.
Accessibility Ensuring the app is usable for all citizens, including those with disabilities.

Overall Harmonic Value

The app has the potential to provide substantial harmonic value by offering a secure, accessible, and integrated platform for Aadhaar-related services. Success depends on maintaining a delicate balance between security and usability, and on ensuring data privacy.

Description

The Unique Identification Authority of India has released a new app called mAadhaar, which aims to reach a large number of smartphone users. The app offers various Aadhaar services and allows users to carry their Aadhaar information in the form of a soft copy, eliminating the need to carry a physical copy at all times. The app is available in English as well as Indian languages, making it accessible to a diverse range of residents. Users can download their Aadhaar, order a reprint, update their address, download offline eKYC, verify Aadhaar, and more. The app also features a personalized section where users can lock/unlock their Aadhaar or biometric authentication, generate time-based one-time passwords, update their profile, and share their QR code and eKYC data securely. One of the key features of mAadhaar is its multilingual capability. The app is available in English as well as Indian languages, ensuring that it is accessible to residents from different linguistic backgrounds. Users can select their preferred language during installation, but the input fields in the forms only accept data entered in English. This is to help users avoid the challenges of typing in regional languages due to limitations in mobile keyboards. Another important feature of mAadhaar is its universality. Both residents with and without Aadhaar can install the app on their smartphones. However, to avail personalized Aadhaar services, residents need to register their Aadhaar profile in the app. This allows them to access a range of services, including downloading Aadhaar, ordering a reprint, updating their address, downloading offline eKYC, verifying Aadhaar, and more. The app also provides a section where users can lock/unlock their Aadhaar or biometric authentication, generate time-based one-time passwords, update their profile, and securely share their QR code and eKYC data. Additionally, mAadhaar offers a multi-profile feature, allowing Aadhaar holders to include multiple profiles in their profile section. They can add up to three profiles with the same registered mobile number. The app also provides Aadhaar services on SMS, allowing users to avail of Aadhaar services even when there is no network. This feature requires SMS permission. Lastly, the app includes a feature to help users locate the nearest enrollment center, making it easier for them to access Aadhaar services.

the mobile app is not useful at all. It doesn't shows the latest request status and also the request which is raised via app gets stuck and takes months to process. no follow up or update is received from the centre and the requestor has to keep contacting the customer care center for the update. The website is much more mature than the app.

Completely rubbish application. I tried to update my new address, but it is not recognising any UPI IDs or Debit/Credit card numbers(says invalid number) and cancelled several times. However, it took the card details the next day and money deducted from my account but in the app it is showing payment failed. This is happening the second time(₹75) and the first time it was from the website(₹50). They want us to stand in the queue to make these small changes. 🔔 Digital india

The app and the website do not work on WiFi connection. They work only on mobile network connection which is an inconvenience. Other than that, services seem to be better. I used it for address update based on family member. Hopefully it doesn't get rejected, as I have read for multiple people that after paying ₹75, the application got rejected without a reason, and that too multiple times.
