You have to go to folder view for a file count. No count within the folder itself. No sort features whatsoever. If you have to go through a few hundred pictures good luck! They load very slow. There's no scroll bar on the side. The PC abilities are okay enough to get you by but the app is useless. I'm not even sure what it's for other than to maybe upload some pictures off of your phone?
The main issue I have with the Android OneDrive app is that if it does not upload photos to OneDrive, it doesn't tell you. It just silently fails, and later you find out that your pictures didn't get uploaded. The other problem is that when you want to select folders to be backed up, you can't exclude certain directories in the internal storage of the phone. So it picks up all of your music album thumbnails, which (with the size of today's storage) can be thousands and impossible to wade thru.
Destroying my hi resolution photos. I started storing all my favorite photos on OneDrive to make it easier update my digital frames and other smart devices. Recently, OneDrive has started compressing the images shortly after uploading and turning them into useless blurry low resolution images. I was forced to delete the last 4 months of photos that I uploaded.
After having this for nearly two years, out of nowhere OneDrive uploaded all of my photos and videos without asking me, and there is no longer an option to turn this off. Now I have used all of my storage on files I don't want to be there and it demands I pay for an upgraded plan with more space. And the icing on the cake, there is now AI facial recognition that you have to opt-out of - but there is conveniently a "connection error" whenever I try to!
It came with my computer and stored items/had access to items when I never gave it permission to, and I never set the app up or touched it at all. I actively avoided setting it up due to one of my friends having issues with it. It also made some of my games give me errors. I spent way too much time with the issues this app gave me despite never setting it up in the first place. Honestly, it felt like an invasion of privacy and a whole lot of time wasted. Microsoft's customer support is terrible.
It lost some pictures that I took from within the app. I retook the pics outside the app and uploaded them, but they also disappeared. No error messages or anything, just silent data loss. Update 2/6/26: I tired taking and saving pictures to my OneDrive again with the app. Unfortunately, five years after my original review, it had silent data loss again! Unbelievable.
All these years of experience doing file systems wrong on a PC continues. Moving files requires going 2 levels into a files settings to get to the move command. So I can't select multiple documents that I want to organize into one folder. Furthermore, the recent files settings dont include a move command at all. When working on a file, there is no option to put it into a folder. Even naming the file is a chore with the a recent problem that I can't rename the file while offline, I'm online!
It's impossible to move files around with OneDrive. It always gives the error, file can't be moved, file is open. The file is not open. I'm the only one using my OneDrive. I'll be finding an alternative. If you want to stay organized...do not use OneDrive, you won't be able to organize your files, it will always tell you, files can't be moved/their open, when they aren't
OneDrive is great. This app, however, has to be one of the worst mobile clients I have ever used in the history of websites. My OneDrive does not update on mobile at all. I have files that have been in my drive for weeks. They appear on the web client just fine. However, they do not appear on the mobile app. Even my other phone only shows files from weeks ago. Also, what kind of psychopath makes every folder default to "sort by oldest files first" and why do I have to change it for every folder?
I use OneDrive quite a bit. I like being able to sync across devices and choose which folders I'd like to upload on my PCs and stuff. How it got only 3 stars? For what I pay for my subscription, I think I should get much more storage. The subscription is too expensive, and I still get pissed off everything has a damn subscription model these days. It would be nice to just buy something and have it instead of being gouged every month by another service they've forced us into living without.
Updates have removed and broken key functionality. It's impossible to favorite a photo in an album. It's impossible to add photos from one album to another. Cannot share a link to a single photo in an album, have to share the photo with low bandwidth. Favorites in the web browser version do not match favorites in the phone app. Personal vault resyncs synched files. Why isn't this being regression tested? I used to rate this app a 5. I'm now looking for another app to manage photos and albums.
I used to like this app. It's nice and all but whenever I log into it on the "computer" to make any changes or to just view my files, it ALWAYS, ALWAYS, gives me a hard time logging out. It will sit there and buffer for minutes on end. I literally have to close the tab multiple times and attempt to log out before it actually logs me out. If Microsoft is so great they should be able to correct that. None of my other cloud storage has this problem.
Basically, I haven't been able to use OneDrive for months now. I can't add, sync or backup any files. Although, it does an excellent job of deleting most of my files on its own without my permission. Do you think that Microsoft cares about helping to fix it. I spoke with their tech dept on May 15th and they promised to contact me back with a fix and I haven't heard from them them since. I guess paying customers don't matter.

I have never seen a subscription for under $99 I don't think it exists. I currently have 1 TB storage. I pay $19.99 Annually. Microsoft has been bullying me into subscribing to 365. I am on very low fixed income. I don't pay for anything I don't NEED. When windows 11 was installed on my laptop. Microsoft One Drive was automatically on my laptop. I have un sync from One Drive and somehow it gets re synced. I received multiple emails saying .....
It's nice but I will really appreciate it if the default storage capacity was a little more then what it is now. maybe 15GB or maybe more or less. This extra storage will turn in into an useful app than a business app that's costly to maintain. I hope the developers understood what I meant to say. I'm not rich so can't get subconscious often. Otherwise I love the app. Much better functions and user friendly service then other cloud sites.
It is remarkable how such a large corporation could develop such a clunky, inefficient piece of bloated spyware. The fact that they would also like you to pay for it is even more hilarious. You are being data mined, despite what they say. How else could there be a free version? I urge you to erase all instances of this awful program across your devices, and perform your own backups with a USB drive or some other storage.
Used to be really good, but recent updates put photos first and not files, it's really slow to load when it does open. But it often crashes when tapping on a notification to open it, and recently is crashes when trying to open it from the app icon. The only way I seem to be able to access the app is to open it from a widget. After years of using it, pretty much since it came out, it's gotten worse and I'm losing my patience with it to the point I'm looking for alternatives.
This app was great a year ago, but now it never displays my photos, constantly says 'item cannot be displayed', and gives no thumbnails. Also it's lagging and glitchy. I cannot find anything in the app because nothing is available or can be previewed. Everything fine on the Web version so you're app is not working. Multiple attempts to contact help support and no one has given me anything on how to fix it. This seems very common problem with users in the Microsoft forums too, but no resolution.
App is extremely buggy. (1) Vault is simply not working on the phone because of some sort of server error. (2) When I click on a notification to view pictures from the past years in the same day, every second time or so, my phone starts vibrating like crazy, and nothing happens. I have to completely kill the app from memory to stop. And also, it is sooooo slow for a cloud solution. Only recommend it if you absolutely have to use Office, than it comes "free" with your Office 365 subscription
Unusable Since Last Update. After the last update, the app has been unusable. There have issues with uploads, syncing, and an error message constantly pops up. Most importantly, I now cannot access files in my vault as the app says it's either been removed or I do have permission. Even there is no issue accessing it on PC. Frankly unsettling that OneDrive might delete my most important files without my knowledge or permission.
