It's just plain awful! The collectors are great, and I never had an issue with them, but their support side is a joke. I wasted 2 hours attempting to schedule an extra pickup just to give up in the end. No option on their website or app, and they were unable to help through chat and told me to call just to be looped around in a circle. It's like you're being punished for requesting services!
The app doesn't tell you the due date for the bill and often won't even have what you owe posted until right before the bill is due. Everytime I log on to use the app I find myself frustrated with it. I find other utility apps much easier to use and this company seems pretty adamant about directing you to the app for all inquiries and account management.
It logs out after just a couple of days, maybe less. It's cumbersome, and I can't connect my actual account with whatever this app is doing. Also, the rest of the company's electronic systems are trash, both the website and the phone. It took 2 hours to order a dumpster, and 90% of the time was spent getting transferred around to the wrong department repeatedly. Just a terrible customer experience. Avoid if at all possible.
Impossibly difficult to contact customer service in case of issues. If your issue isn't one of a preselected option, there is no option to call customer service and the chat is just places me in queue. I waited over an hour and never moved up in queue. I also have issues regarding the lack of service and the lies about whether my bin is out or not, but this is a review for the App
This app doesn't tell you anything useful. No calendar of service, no service dates, just ambiguous descriptions like "every other Monday" but it doesn't give you a starting point to figure out if this is the week to haul cans to the curb or not. Some functions, like "report a missed pickup" just pop up a message saying "use the website instead" I've used many bad and/or useless software over the years, but this one takes it to a new level. Don't bother installating.
The app and online views DO NOT properly show itemized balances when there are multiple properties, (I receive 5 seperate invoices in the mail, but at least they are correct for tax purposes). I CANNOT possibly sign up for paperless until this is corrected! It is not possible to manage the account(s) online or through the app with these inconsistencies! Very frustrating!
App is worthless except to pay the bill that they add more and more fees to every month. Impossible to cancel on the app, website, chat service says can't cancel online have to call a number that No one answers, put on hold for hours until hung up on multiple times. If you have a choice use anyone else, there is no way they could be worse than wm Update. After canceling service in January, I was billed $76 for someone to pickup my empty trash cans in February. March got another bill
the app works fine however I can't stand this company much longer. they raise the price of pick up about every 3 months and its already the most expensive company around. I just paid them a $70 reinstate free when my service was never interrupted and when I called to talk to someone about it they literally told me there's nothing they can do about it. I'm more than frustrated with their customer service
This app wholeheartedly SUCKS. Every single time I try to log in, it'll show me nothing of importance. It'll tell me there's no active accounts at this location, (even though they have no active problem getting their money) it'll say, "oops, a problem occurred, please try again later" when all I want to see is if they're coming for the recycle or not. It's the website too Waste Management. Please, get your IT team on point, because it's all trash at this point.
The app is not letting me add my checking account. When I tap "ADD", it just puts the progress circle up then freezes for awhile before changing to a screen that has a check box for "Pretty Print" then under that there are two braces {} with no text between them. (And charging me $9.99 for using my debit card (which is linked to the same checking account your app won't let me input) is predatory in my opinion. That's a whole day's worth of meals for this poor old man!)
Review of App, not Waste collection. the app is better than my review, but I gotta say the extra charge for paying with a card just burns me up. I could mail a check or even cash - causing them the labor and management of paper - and not be charged the "convenience fee," I could relinquish my security and have them pull it from my account automatically each month and not pay the fee, but if I transfer funds electronically with a card I also have to pay the "convenience fee." Who's convenience?
It takes far too long to speak with customer service. When you do get customer service reps, they normally never actually help. They seem to "forget" to set end dates on services, which are icur fees. After speaking with reps a number of times, I still can't see/access the services for my property through the app or online. My bills are processed, but then come back as "Not paid," and I have to process them again. All in all, this is a literal nightmare, hoping for a replacent company soon.
This app is difficult to use. It takes ages for any page to load. Everytime I checked the app there was a red dot on the alerts tab but when it (finally) loaded there was no alert. I did this for the last 7 days straight to see if I just missed an alert. I hadn't. You can log out, immediately login again and it will have the alert dot again but there will be no alerts. Sometimes a service will be listed incorrectly so you just have to know your services.
Terrible customer service. Has always been a hassle to contact this company. They have double billed me before then made up for it by giving me a credit. Then they didn't keep track of it and double billed again. Recently signed up for much better service. Have spent 2 hours a day the last week on hold to cancel my account because you can't online. The 1 time i spoke to someone they hung up within 10 seconds.
Drivers straight up lie that the containers were not out! and not just once, mutiple times, and the app provides no recourse, no way to contact customer support and chat with them. I need to open a browser separately and do it. Invoice and billing history doesn't get updated many a time. overall, poor service from WM and poor app, with absolutely useless information. Oh, and can I save login details on my device? I need to type in my id and pwd every single time lol. Basic stuff is wrong.
What was once a no frills app (no pick up notifications/ calendar export etc) is now just totally unusable (I can't even see when my recycling days are any more). Basically if you need to do anything beyond paying a bill it will not do much for you. I am currently very much missing the city-run apps and services that I had used before signing up for WM.
Didn't notify me of payment problems that were due to the app not saving my replacement card number after my account was compromised months ago. Apparently my bank was just allowing payments to continue for a few months on the old card number due to the recurring nature, but I got no notifications in my email or on the app or text message stating that I was overdue.
Have had previous issues with this company, but new this morning: I arrived home from work just in time to watch the truck blast past my house without even slowing. Checked my account, it says they were unable to pick up because my container wasn't out. Even though it's been at the end of my driveway all night. They flat out lied. As soon as the credit (currently $70.27 from their previous $90+ overcharge) is gone from my account, I'm changing companies. I'm done.
absolutely abysmal service. didn't pick up trash for weeks at a time, and when they did charged like they'd picked it up on schedule. customer service was terrible, spent multiple hours trying to work with them to be greeted by being hung up on and being charge over $100 to reactivate a service they never provided. never again.
Tried to charge me two fees for additional bins that didn't exist. The pics proved me right. They tried to adjust only one fee. I brought it up, then they claimed someone on my account called in and ordered two additional pickups. False! Watch your bills for their scams! I received both adjustments but I still had to go through the drama and stress of it.
