Easy to learn, pretty good function. This app is not powerful enough to do super sophisticated fine art. It's good for basic sketching, coloring book pages, tracing over photos, and simple drawing. I use it for tracing over photos to create cartoon-like drawings. It's very easy to learn. Not too many tools. The pro version adds layers, a color wheel, and a few more brushes. For the price, it's a good value.
It was an AMAZING app to use when drawing, but there were some negatives and positives. Positives were that it had many tools and barely any ads! Negatives were that you couldn't rotate the screen, and you needed premium in order to use more than one layer. Because of the layer problem, I ended up uninstalling it. If that could be moved to 3 please and I could be notified of the update then I'd reinstall it and bump it up to 4 stars, but until then, I'm gonna stick to ibis Paint X.
I absolutely love this app! I get very few ads. most of the ads I get are when I am have paused a drawing ( left uncompleted). My wich is impressive to me because I am usually drawing for 45 or more minutes before pausing the drawing. it also lets you save uncompleted drawings and continue them later. another plus on this app is it comes with several drawing tools and if those tools aren't enough you can watch ads to get more.
Decent. The app itself works pretty well but the tools in it are pretty sloppy. All of them leave smudges and there is no blending tool. Shading and highlights look really bad, and I must say, overall I regret spending money for the full version. If you just want to doodle on your phone, it's a great app, but I definitely wouldn't recommend for professional art.
I have been using Paper Color consistently for well over a year now and am VERY pleased with the performance the application gives! I can transform pics of my rocks into beautiful works of art, well beautiful to me! I do have one little issue, I have had to change phones while the applications account did transfer over my art did not. My recommendation would be to save your work just in case. It's well worth the small $ amount monthly to not be bothered by Thank You, Deb
Drew over portrait in opaque mode with fine stylus. Traced and then started coloring in pencil mode. The results are ethereal on the gray hair and eyes with hightlights and shadows. I'm a beginner and even with little instruction this is easy to use and the ability to trace and color photos plus save into different art journals will be invaluable for learning and practicing before I commit to paper. It seems to have some realism in the color and drawing control. I like it. I'll use it.
Transparency is a huge time saver or an excellent way to break down an image into the basic shapes if you are a beginner. The brushes in the free version don't have the fine detail control one would like. It lacks a simple way to overlay a grid on an image but you can layer two images. A little more complicated way to lay a grid but workable. All in all I recommend the app, particularly if you are wanting to work from a reference photo. I keep it on my phone to quickly block in shapes or tones.
I recommend this for casual drawing. Really easy to use, fun interface, very friendly for non-artists. The number of tools is just a few, no excessive brushes. But also because of the simplicity, it's not good if you want to get deep into art. Can be good if you're a beginner digital artist to just get the basic idea of it, but later slowly change into a more advanced app.
Very beautiful if you are using it for free. However, 3 stars only because I bought it and there's not much difference with the free access. Bought it so I can add text but the font types are very very basic. Also, I was hoping I could save the background as transparent, but it still saves as white. Please add this features, would have been perfect!
Get your bearings and realise you are working to a restricted palette, then proceed. Really good practise for any colourist who wants to learn how to work with a set number of colours. Excellent basics and, if you want more, then buy the app. Try it out before you discount it! It takes time but when you get it, it's really great for quick sketches
You see, I like the app, but there's a problem cause I can't save the photos when I draw, and when I take screenshots are going to an older drawing. I don't get the full thing, it makes the drawing bigger and it goes outside the screen, cutting the drawing off or in half. plz fix this..
This app is very good and easy to use. The things that are VERY annoying is that you can only put on 1 layer unless you buy premium and that the delete and the undo button are next to each other and it is very annoying when i am trying to undo something. The premium is a bit expensive and i personaly think that is they lower the price, more people would buy it
I upgraded to the paid version but I am very unimpressed. You can only have 4 layers. There are very few fonts to choose from and none with serifs. The list of fonts might look long at first glance but 90% of the list are the same font, just for different language scripts. You can only put one instance of text in a project, you cannot even add other text on the other layers. Altogether it feels very limited and worse than some free drawing apps. Wish I hadn't bothered upgrading.
I had this earlier on my old phone and lost the app in between changing devices. Couldn't recall the name and lost it but I missed it so badly I kept browsing through all the available paint apps in playstore, only to fail and compelled to use others. It's been more than a year now, couldn't resist, checked again, this time around went through the list of apps I had on this account and bingo, here it is!! PaperColor, again!!! One of my favorite apps ever! Thank you for making this. 🙏
It's a fine drawing app. But there are a few problems. 1. When I try to undo something, it undo-s my most previous stroke but also undo-s another stroke too, it is very annoying and its always the same stroke the I have to redo and redo and redo all over again ! 2. To access the layers, you need to pay for it. In drawing apps layers are VERY important! 3. There is no lasso tool. It's ok that there isn't a lasso to but sometimes I do wish there was.
Its nice. But I only see one problem. Layers. I dont like how you have to pay to get layers as an option. People use layers all the time when drawing, so without them it's a little harder to draw. I myself have trouble. But yeah. Thats all I see as a problem. If you could make the layers free to use, i'll be happy to rate you 5 stars!
Sooo....... it is is a great app, I'm currently using my fingers to draw, but you could differently get some insane drawings with a pen. Although, the VIP is a little annoying, you would get a few brushes from it (3 or 4), and layers, plus some other stuff. The paint does layer because it is transparent. It's still worth it, though.
Great drawing app!!! Would give 5 stars but there are some issues. 1. When I undo my previous stroke, it undos something else too, in some cases it undos half of my drawing, its really annoying! 2. Layers are locked, it should be unlocked! Layers are a crucial part of digital art and I have alot of trouble drawing without it! 3. The tool that lets you draw a straight line and shapes always fills in the shape! And when I want to draw a perfect circle, it gives me a od oval shape and its filled.
This is weirdly good for a little app I think. I paid to upgrade a few years ago and keep adding it to each new phone since bc I enjoy using it so much. It's got what I need for quick sketches and laying out rough drawings of artwork on the go and I can spend a more time on layers or tools if I'm stuck without art supplies somewhere. It's helpful that I have a phone w/ a stylus as I'm not sure I could achieve what I want w/out one. All in all I've been very pleased despite minor limitations.
My rating is more of a 4.5 than a 4, but I LOVE this drawing app! The only tiny reason it's not a five star is because there's no way to select and move parts of your drawing, or to size them up or down-at least not to my knowledge! There are a lot of instances that my sketches are too close to the edge or too large/small and I have to redraw it to get it right. Other than that though, excellent app!
