The app is "okay", but a couple of issues prevent a greater rating. First, beat tones are of poor quality. Second, there isn't any instructions and believe me you will want them. Third, Practice Mode - Warm Up simply doesn't work as expected. The app doesn't follow or advance through the sections and it doesn't even use the assigned target tempo. All that said, it is my main metronome, for now.
It functions fine for practicing, and there are lots of settings, but unfortunately there is no manual that tells you how to use the app. If I click on the info or support button, neither of them take me to the site. It just gives an error message. I paid for the pro version, but the info and support buttons still do not take me to the website. I also tried the website on my PC, but also just get an error message that the site does not exist. Disappointing.
Not too bad. Nice and convenient when I'm practicing or learning music. Love the ability to set a timer. Also setting up a practice workout that will increase the tempo incrementally has been a help. The only two things I don't dig are the tap function (which I have found to be less than accurate). The other thing is I find it difficult exiting some of the preference and setting modes in order to get back to the metronome. A "back" arrow or a "home" tab would be a nice feature.
Very good for a free metronome app. Many of the free or low cost musician tool apps like metronomes and tuners that I used to like 5-10 years ago, have suffered from enshitification or bait-and-switch pricing models. So it's nice to find an app like this which still does the simple things well, and only expects you to pay extra for extras that you want, whilst remaining usable if you don't.
This is pretty good. Has a a lot of customizable features. One strange thing is that the tempo of this metronome does not match the same tempo as the metronome on my Roland V-drum kit. I'm willing to bet that it's not my V-drum kit that is running at the incorrect speed. It still works fine, but I would be careful about using it as the tempo in a recording if the recording needs to synchronize to a daw or something else.
Seems like a nice app. Led flasher doesn't work on my Android phone, though. I do have camera enabled for this app but even after phone reboot, LED stays on all the time once the metronome is started. Also, it would be nice to feel tempo on my wrist activity band vibrating but even though the app makes the phone vibrate, it is not reflected on the wrist band. Any tips for these? Thanks
A great metronome, and a very good price for the full version. I've had some lapses in performance, but nothing that makes the app unusable. The polyrhythm and subdivision functions are a nice addition to have. My only critique of this app is the practice function being limited to solely increasing the tempo. I would love to have a way to practice drum rudiments open-closed-open with a met, but it's impossible to even slow down the tempo over time, let alone speed up then slow down at once.
in my phone Galaxy A56 when I put vol to 0 metronome still can be heard. In my galaxy Tab A9+ the volume does not do anything to metronome sound so its always on. I also bought this app some years ago but now it's changed to subscription service so I have to download/buy another metronome because apparently I dont have permission to full version anymore but it tries to make me subscribe. It was fun as long as it lasted. Bye.
I paid for this app years ago. I took a short break from gigging and when I came back and reopened the app, all of the features had been stripped to force me to pay a recurring fee to get them back. This attitude is actively hostile toward the consumer and I will not support it.
It works well however, the option to have the flashlight flash in sync with the metronome does not work properly. It's way out of sink. Also in order for this to work you need to manually give camera permissions to the app. Also the app keeps closing a few seconds after the screen is off. And finally, not supporting landscape mode is quite inconvenient. For a paid app those are way too many bugs!
Like so many others here, I PAID FOR THE APP, then it "changed" to a subscription model, removing my access to pro features I PAID for. Reported this POLICY VIOLATION. I paid to own the app, supporting Pro Metronome in their early days, only for them to turn their back on their paying customers. Disgusting and dishonorable. Using "Metronome Beats" instead with a free drum kit feature that allows subdivisions, which I can no longer access with this lamp app.
Was looking for a metronome and this seemed very promising. Was going to buy it but seeing it's subscription based and the fact this was a change away from a prior buy it for life model will have me taking my money elsewhere, I will keep an eye on it in case the reverse this decision but otherwise...
Was my favorite metronome app and there are a ton of them. Purchased Pro years ago and I still have a lot of functionality, BUT BASIC THINGS: 1. The beats no longer highlight on the screen while it plays? 2. The pendulum block no longer animates from side to side - yaknow, Like a PENDULUM? Yes I've checked my settings (even without a built in help/manual). found their YouTube how-to video but the interface on Android doesn't match what they show.
This used to be my favorite metronome app by far, worked perfectly for me in every way. But then... something happened? Maybe the developer sold it off? First red flag: the import/export functions errored out with "cannot reach server" messages. Then it asked for additional permissions when I tried re-installing. Then when I revisited to try again, my phone gave me a "app using camera in background' type error (I hadn't opened in several days), so I uninstalled for good. Just, no.
It works very well, and it is steady, but you need a non free version to do the super BASIC thing of subdivisions. I originally got this bc it is loud enough, but I'm uninstalling it because of this. I know that having the subdivisions unlocked only with the paid version, but subdivisions is such a basic functionality that it makes no sense to be not included with the free version, which is all I'll pay for for a downloadable peice of software metronome. But it is a good metronome.
While a metronome may look like a simple thing, some are over-featured and over-complicated, others can't do the most obvious thing right. This one works, it's use is trivial, and navigation is very straightforward. I do like that the beats sound clearly and are also visually very visible. Possibly the only thing I'd wish is a simple lead-in, but then again, is it necessary?
Great, good sounds and controls. Goes from 10-500, different sounds, change accents and subdivisions, and plays in background. Plays in the background is a big deal to me but the metronome does not have a volume control for balancing with other media. It really needs that feature in the app and I'd like at least a start and stop widget but I'm a widgety boi.
Generally it works fine but the song library is pretty much unusable as it is impossible to edit saved tracks. You can create a new track but if you need to change anything then you have to delete it and start from scratch. Currently it is stuck on 126bpm and I can't find any way of changing it. Needs bugs sorting but there haven't been any updates in years. The main metronome, auto increment, etc seems to work ok though.
I have purchased the app years back and every time I installed it I had all the profeatures available . Now their a subscription plan of continuous payments per annum , where I had payed for a one time payment back then . Waste of time since I used it mainly for the study of polyrhythmic riffs .
Incremental tempo increase for the paid version is a pain. You can only change the numbers by tapping the arrows +1 each time, or tapping the tempo. Let me just type in the number for the tempos I want, this is clunky! Your paid version doesn't compete with the free plugin for the "free" computer program Reaper.
