Description

The Shell App is a mobile payment application that offers a secure and convenient way to pay for fuel and purchase items at participating Shell stations in the United States. Users can link various payment methods such as Shell branded credit cards, checking accounts, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, and major credit/debit cards. The app also allows users to pay for fuel outdoors by unlocking the pump or pay inside the store by presenting the app's QR code to the cashier. Additionally, the app provides features like loyalty program integration, receipts, offers, and a station locator. For electric vehicle drivers, the Shell App now supports EV charging. Users can select the EV option in the app to access the Shell Recharge network. The app enables EV drivers to locate the nearest charger, check the charging status of stations, start and stop charging, and make in-app payments. The Shell App is integrated with the Fuel Rewards program, allowing users to save automatically on every fill-up. By using Shell Pay & Save, users can earn a one-time ¢/gal savings on their first fuels purchase. Continued use of Shell Pay & Save earns additional savings, and users can customize their savings by choosing to redeem everyday savings or their full rewards balance. The app also introduces a new loyalty status, Platinum, with potential new rewards. To participate in the Fuel Rewards program through the Shell App, users need to link a new or existing Fuel Rewards account. The app also includes a station locator feature to help users find their nearest Shell station and access a list of services offered, including stations that accept Shell Pay & Save mobile payment.

Doesn't even work about half the time. It will let me fill up using the app but then it doesn't give me credit for about half of the full-ups, including premium fill-ups which are supposed to count as 2... Even when I spend $70 on a fill-up. The past three times I have filled up using the app, it didn't give me credit for it. I never spend less than $30 on a fill up either, so it should be counting them, but it doesn't. I go back into the app after filling up and it just says "ready to fill up".

Doesn't work for Shell, formerly Volta, stations. It says they are occupied. Chargepoint correctly shows them available. Too bad I didn't realize this until I had to leave without getting any charge on what was a free station which used to be plug and play under Volta. They also don't recognize + in email which I use for filtering. Absolute garbage.

I still love the convenience of paying at the pump, but this app is going downhill fast. The last couple of updates have been awful. I pulled up to the pump today and could not log in. Each update logs me out, and this time I had to reset my password and start the setup process again. Thankfully I could skip most of it because my information was still there. The receipt button is still buried in a menu. The developer link from my last review was useless and just sent me in circles.
