Very good. This is the 3rd one I installed and it's a keeper. Exactly what I needed. Update...the meter still works well, but ads pop up every few minutes and the only way to get rid of them is to close out of the app (or just wait for them to play) It's very annoying and I'll be looking for another app

Ads, ads, and more ads. I don't mind an ad to support something, but this might be the most ad intensive app i have ever used. Banner ad at the bottom, then every 30 seconds, a full screen ad comes up, and guess what? Most of the those have sound! That, of course, breaks up your sound testing. Takes two clicks to close the ad, tapping on your phone will record sound and mess with your capture graph again. Insane. No thanks.

It's ok. I don't know how accurate it is, as I don't have a way to verify its readings. The graph function sounded really cool until I found out you can only see the last 60 seconds, which makes the graph useless. Also no way to save the graph that I can see. Also can't customize the appearance at all. So if you want to see dBs in real time, it works for that, but that's it. There are other free dB apps with more features.

Ridiculous ads. The app is good and it works well. The problem is the ads, they are constantly popping up and auto playing audio from advertisements. To the Developer: I understand you have to make money, and you deserve to because the app is great. The way you are implementing ads however is terrible. I was going to pay the 2 dollars to get rid of ads but I'm going to find a different app that isn't so obnoxious. My advice: Have ads, but don't make them cover the screen!

First thing that pops up is a privacy disclaimer. No problem. I refuse all optional cookies and confirm my choices. Then an free (with ads) and a paid (no ads) option pops up. No problem I'll go free and watch a few ads. Apparently the ads don't like that I refuse optional cookies because I got stuck in a cookies/ad loop and couldn't even use the app. I guess unless you choose to let them share all of your information can you use the "free" version.

Works perfectly. Idk why people are saying it doesn't measure sound while ads are displayed or that it's difficult to read at a glance. Not seeing either of those issues. Current reading is displayed simultaneously in digital and analog format as well as minimum, average, maximum and graphing for a session. And this is an extremely inexpensive app at $1.99 if you prefer ad-free. App development costs money. Small price to pay for this quality and stability.

I guess it works well enough to get a general idea of decibel range... but ads with audio literally every 5 to 10 seconds makes it unusable to get a consistent, accurate measurement. Anytime you disable an ad or have it play out, the reading gets disrupted from the audio feedback of you touching the phone or the sound of the ad itself. I am not going to buy an app to disable ads when I cannot even be sure it works properly.

So many obtrusive ads that it is almost unusable. Upon opening you get a lower third ad that needs to be minimized, then a few seconds later is a full screen ad with a timer before you can close it, then came an ad to pay to remove ads. Then every 30 seconds or so a full screen timed ad pops up. Otherwise the app looked pretty good, I just can't stand the ads it get in enough time to tell how well the app actually measures sounds.

The dial and needle is nice,we are all familiar with this type of indicator, it's easy to see and remember registered, just like when I looking at the speedometer in the car while driving. Moreover this sound meter app seems more accurate compare with other fancy looking ones. Thank you for let me use it for free. Highly recommended for casual use.

The app gives consistent decibel values when using it on my Pixel 2 XL, so the basics are solid. It's not my favorite, but I have Play Pass so I take advantage of how simple it is. 4 Stars: Considering it's not completely free, it would be nice to have some more features like logging or more control over the view. There are other completely free apps that give more detailed real-time information on the sound around you. It's consistent, so the dev certainly has an accurate start to build on.

I like the simplicity and usefulness of this app, BUT.... The ads! I nt mind the ads if they will show up quietly, but the first one is quiet, and then one with audio shows up and the button to skip the video becomesslow to respond, this prolonging the play time of the video. I want to pay to stop the ads, but not sure if there'll be any additional value to gain...

The app loads quick, but goes to an advertisement within seconds. The app should still run in the background during the non-sound ad, but nope. Tried to listen to how loud fighter jets were, as they took off, but NOTHING! The app wasn't working in the background, and even worse, it just locked up and wouldn't work at all. The developer put a handy button to reset it, but that's even more useless. While it does reset the split-second of info it registered before the ad, then app does nothin!

Ridiculous. I'm checking how loud it is so I can make sure the white nose machine isn't loud enough to affect my newborn's hearing. After a few seconds, the LOUDEST ad interrupts and shocks my newborn awake as the booming sound goes directly into her ear as I hold the phone and she's sleeping on my lap. There needs to be either pic ads (without sound) or at least a warning to turn off the volume if you don't want to hear ads. This is a sound checking app. It should not be creating excess sounds.

not very accurate. it regularly posts levels around 20 decibels higher than actual. it is also not the easiest thing to read st a glance. I had much better success with the Sound meter App from "Creative Gigs". it posted much closer to the actual sound level, is easy to read, and actually tells you what the sound is coming from with decent accuracy. if the devs worked on these issues, it would be a much better app.

Simple to use. Hasn't fallen into the dreaded creating feature trap. It just does what it says, no more. The unabstrusive ad bar is no problem. People who expect completely free apps. are ridiculous. You should get paid for your work. I'm sure they would. Is it lab grade accuracy? I don't know, probably not. If you want lab accuracy you need to be willing to pay lab grade prices. Good job folks.

Constant ad dump makes this app extremely annoying to use. Literally the popup ad interval is 10 to 15 seconds, with the banner ad always present. Also seems to read a bit high compared to multiple apps across multiple phones. The app itself is decent, but it's hardly good enough to overcome the constant ads. Avoid this, there are multiple better apps.

barely usable due to constant ads that take up the entire screen and require you to close the entire app to get rid of them because clicking on them opens them in a browser and keeps you from seeing the actual decibel meter. maybe wait more than one second after the app is opened to start shoving hideous ads in our faces. just a crazy suggestion.

If I had a decibel meter that I could compare this to and calibrate it I wouldn't need to download an app, so .. I installed a few different decibel matter apps to see if they would all measure the same or give different readings. So far they all give me the same readings including this one. so it works just as well as the rest. I only have 4 stars because there is an awful lot of ads. I think they could trim that down a little too make it a little more user friendly.

Did not get past the initial "do you consent to ads" box (and attempting to only let it use the required cookies) before being asked if the meter worked correctly. Then was hit with a 2-ads-in-1 before once again having to try to reject all unrequired cookies. Got stuck in a loop being asked if I consent to ads with more ads repeating as I had to repeatedly reject cookies over and over. Uninstalled and will not be back.

Far too many ads. I expected just a banner on the bottom of the screen or something, but nope. When the app is open, it's full-screen video ads half the time it's open, and they pop up unexpectedly, blocking use of the meter and making the app nearly useless.
