Not again... Yikes! This app gives you access to internal switches that developers use. It also gives others access to your switches too. I don't know how this managed to get installed, but it gives me nightmares. I can't even delete the app? Please ensure it is attacked by a tribe of wild bananas (who my auto fill suggests should sue the developer).
Not sure how I'm supposed to give something that just randomly appears in my apps menu that I have never even used and not sure how long it's even been there any # of stars.... But, I gave it the lowest possible because, BOTTOM LINE ILL ADD WHAT AND WHO I WANT TO MY LIFE AND PHONE!!!! And, to add an app without my permission feels invasive, and makes me highly suspicious!!
I have no idea what this does. It is installed by default on my device, I cannot remove it. Probably, it is another feature from google. I have Android Auto, Android This, Android That, a lot of accessibility services, all "hidden" apps from google like this one. I want my phone to allow full control, however, I can't, because of those. Having to "root" a device so it feels really yours annoys me, and if you all stopped bloating my system with "mini-apps", it would be much less uncomfortable.
Hey this trash TF off ALL devices. Amongst others. I didn't install this and I didn't trust it all considering the security issues and events I've experienced throughout the past forever and a half. Cloning apps and devices to allow simultaneous access and manipulation is not of interest to me any longer.
I read the reviews and like everyone else I cannot uninstall it. I realized that some phones come with certain apps so I flagged it as spam to Google. it is sad that we have to worry about what's going on on our phones that we cannot control! what's the purpose of having permissions if you can't change any of them? and I noticed there wasn't a response from Google on any of those bad reviews! that's suspicious!
App installed on phone , this app was installed on my phone. I was not the one to install it, the app it self isn't able to be shown without going into the app store. also I'm not able to uninstall it either, I've already tried and it won't let me. This entire time I thought there was something wrong with my phone bc it constantly shows that the camera is on or the microphone. also apps or games I've never installed, can't even trust your own phone at this point.
More bloat software, I get that accessibility is needed, but considered adding it as an optional app instead of forcing every phone to have it, I don't need these accessibility features, others might, let them download it to their devices. Stop forcing bytes of code and memory hoarders on phones that don't want or need
this is supposed to be so you can switch your data and information from an old phone to a new phone, but it's also used as spyware and it spend installed on my phone from a Motorola Moto g allows hackers access to all of your data to your camera to your microphone. do not install and if your phone comes pre-installed with it. turn off auto update
It's a neat way to control your phone, but not really accurate, triggers when you don't want it to, doesn't sometimes when you do want it to (not meaning enabling itself but clicking on things), & doesn't have enough triggers. It doesn't work in low-light either. For Google: How about head movements as a trigger? I'd use it if it had more triggers & was reliable.
I love Android & I love my Google Pixel but I wish they would stop forcing things that are optional & then not let you uninstall it. If this works it can be a lifesaver for those who need it. I completely understand it from that point of view ... BUT ... it should still be optional. Now I have another app that I don't use, I don't want & lost more space on my phone!! Just make it optional. Its fine if its pre installed when the phone is new but it would be great if we could uninstall it.
This app which I won't use because it reinstalls within an hour after I uninstall it. It reinstalls itself back into my shortcuts by taking out an app I use alot. This app gives 3 Switches to choose from. They are. #1.Switch via USB port. I don't have a USB port on my phone. #2.Switch Bluetooth devices. If I want to use Bluetooth it's easier just to go into settings #3.Switch camera settings by making facial gestures. Make faces at my phone to get the camera to work? Lots of fun hun? NOT
Notice that you remove this "operating system app" from the library of apps on the device app list. That's not nefarious at all...... Some of us would like to regain the control over our hardware as in the days of 2010. By hiding these apps and removing control from uses purchased hardware, you place us at greater risk of damage and loss of function. Users should be able to control what apps have access to networks and other hardware, at anytime.
For every one out there complaining about this "update" just it's a setting you can choose to turn on and setup if you want, in case you lose function of your screen somehow, like breaking it... uninstall the update, and disable if you can, and don't use the setting... Only giving 1 star because I don't think I need this, never tried updating it or even using this setting.
@adamkennedy, that is exactly what I need. where to, my only problem is that when I try to set my permissions allowed , su h as allow, na, ow, etc. there is a veil blockage, kinda opaque in color, that doesn't allow me to even touch. so the hack there is remote monitoring, and I can't seem to find how to access the original default app(s), even after a factory reset. I can not even change my keyboard. it really suxxs and fact that I know nothing of what I'm doing.
switch access should not come ready made on any phone. it should be for disabled individuals only. the rest of us can fall victim to hackers using it. controlling our devices with it. I know, I'm going thru it and the thing is..I can't uninstall the app from my phone. if you're not disabled, apps like this one, good as they may be , stay tucked away in settings and never really thought about. that is until someone has a brilliant idea with their evil mind. so, please developer serious security.
I don't have an OS device..it does me no good. Hackers on ps devices use it to help them control my phone, all to control me..that is against the law is it not? They are able to make the font so small ,I can't see the screen, the numbers on the screen so small that my fingers are to fat to accurately type, letters or numbers.i could tell you much more...they add other apps to hinder me in my use. One more thing,I can not deleT it off of my phone. This app must be quite a tool for whoever is hacking
Pre installed Malware, and nothing else. A remote access switch to make your phone record or take pictures by using switches like volume and so on. Motorola phones were bought up, and malware pre installed repackaged and taken back to the store and sold with who knows what firmware.
Accessibility features are great. However when I buy a device and pay for phone and internet services, I should have absolute authority on what "features" are on my device. Along with complete control over access to ANY data either stored or utilized by my device's OS, including but not limited to all apps, files, network and connection permissions and very private data like text and email contents. If Google is making the Android OS more modular then that should extend to all parts of the OS.
kindly do something about that popup notifying the app is running ... it's quite annoying , all the time being highlighted with red or green ... I suggest to make it bit presentable.. like it merges and compliments the user's UI ... or at least use a notification icon instead
It enables hacking if not properly configured and the end user also is on open unsecured WiFi networks please be careful. And please Google can you dedicate more resources to end user / client security development and apps that make non tech folks want to become involved in their own cyber security practices? Many are unaware just how much these devices are really capable of. Many of us are vulnerable due to a multitude of settings options without even knowing where to start.
