Environmental Impact

As a mobile game, the direct environmental impact stems primarily from energy consumption of devices playing the game and the infrastructure supporting downloads and updates. However, minimizing app size and optimizing performance can reduce this impact. The game's potential for mindful design regarding resource use in advertising and data storage will be evaluated.

  • Eco-friendly Aspects: Digital distribution avoids physical waste associated with traditional board games.
  • Resource Management: Efficient coding and asset optimization minimize storage space and bandwidth usage.

Resource Efficiency

The game's design, focusing on simple mechanics and visually appealing but not overly complex graphics, contributes to resource efficiency. This reduces the energy needed to render the game, extending battery life on mobile devices.

  • Minimalist design reduces processing power needed.
  • Smaller app size means faster download and less storage.
  • In-app advertising could lead to increased data consumption if not optimized.

Sustainable Features

While the game itself doesn't directly promote environmental activism, its engaging and relaxing nature can offer a digital escape that might reduce the urge for resource-intensive hobbies. Future updates could incorporate educational elements about sustainability.

Digital Entertainment

Provides a low-impact form of entertainment compared to travel or physical hobbies.

Social Responsibility

The game’s accessibility across various devices and its straightforward gameplay could promote inclusivity. However, responsible monetization is crucial to avoid exploitative practices. We evaluate if the game promotes a healthy digital habit, balanced with real-world interactions.

  1. Social Benefits: Can be a source of relaxation and mental stimulation.
  2. Sustainable Practices: Promotes responsible game design and monetization strategies.

Long-Term Value

The replayability of the game, driven by its level design and continuous updates, extends its lifespan and reduces the need for frequent downloads of new games. A focus on fair pricing and non-intrusive advertising would further enhance its long-term value.

Overall Sustainability Value

As a digital product, the game's sustainability hinges on responsible development, efficient resource use, and ethical monetization practices. Prioritizing these aspects can maximize its positive impact and minimize its environmental footprint.

I used to play this game a ton in its early days, so I decided to come back to it this year. The UI is so cluttered now. It takes a couple of minutes to clear all of the popups when you first open the game. And then, after you complete a level, there are more pop-ups for different game modes, and currencies, and up-sells. It has really soured the game for me.

It's a cute little time waster and I absolutely love the scavenger hunts but it would be nice if there was a way to earn gold to play higher than the second area of said scavenger hunts. Very money grab sort of game. Edit: Had to drop my rating because they recently added intrusive ads to the game. I can only make a couple moves before another one pops up. And it says to pay money to get rid of them. It's upsetting but I might end up uninstalling. And I'm almost level 400.

Great if you like annoying popups !!! Just opening the game is 2 minutes of popups trying to push their paid packages and tournaments and there's no way to shut this off. Also for the last week, I can't get into the game without being redirected to the website for "black Friday deals" and there's no way to get past it without going to the website. Fun game, I really like it, but I may have to delete because i spend more time being annoyed at the popups than playing the game. Do better 👎🏻👎🏻
